Democrats figure out the secret to affordable housing. All you have to do is strip away any sort of economic opportunity, make the schools miserable, and drive out all the productive people.

Gregory,

15 people want to be mayor of Detroit? I guess they want to get in there and get their piece of meat before the carcass is completely stripped by the rest of the hyenas.

Posted by: forest at March 2, 2009 10:53 AM

Mayor is probably one of the few jobs going there.

If you want to be totally blown away, check out Detroit on Zillow. Monthly mortgage payments in double digits. Amazing.

Gay Seduction in America’s Schools and Classrooms

If nothing else, gays are tireless. I’m not referring to their activities between the sheets but to their efforts at recruiting America’s kids to their “lifestyle.”

I’ve written frequently of the gay menace in our country, (see series on “Homosexuality in America,” et al.), about their tactics, their brazenness, their increasing violence, their efforts to persuade Americans that their aberration is noting more or less than a variation on the norm. (See “Gay Predators . . . http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=791)

I firmly believe in allowing anyone to do anything they wish in the privacy of their own homes, or in motels, hotels, or private clubs. It’s only when people take their lives public and, especially, when they engage in outrageous efforts to indoctrinate children that I take strong issue with them and that is precisely what the organized gay community, the LGBT set, is in process of doing. It’s far from a new development but seems to be intensifying of late.

Ever since the homosexual “Stonewall Riots” of 1969 which were followed by the American Psychiatric Association changing its diagnosis of homosexuality as an abnormal mental disorder, gays have pushed for more and more rights, privileges, and license.

The APA had maintained its position for as long as the APA had existed until 1973 when it conferred its imprimatur on gays by altering, under duress, its diagnosis, announcing, that, “homosexuality is neither mental illness nor moral depravity. It is simply the way a minority of our population expresses human love and sexuality:” (/7171/biobasis.html). http://www.geocities.com/southbeach/boardwalk

Do note that the APA actually passed a moral judgement in that statement. Since then all Hell has broken loose, almost literally.

The latest gay outrage occurred in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which is on track to becoming the Homosexual Capital of the United States, if in fact it’s not already there. (Is it mere coincidence that proud homosexual Barney Frank represents Massachusett’s 4th C.D. in Congress?)

MassResistance.com reports that, “On Dec. 17, 2008, Newton North High School held a school-wide “Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Awareness Day,” which included an entire day of homosexual-related presentations, workshops, and activities...

"City schools amend '50 percent' grade policy
Monday, March 02, 2009
By Joe Smydo, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Pittsurgh Public Schools has amended a controversial grading system that gave students no less than 50 percent for any work they performed.

The policy had some students refusing to do or re-do work, saying they'd take the 50 percent instead.

The district today said it will give a zero to students who refuse to do work. In all other cases, the minimum grade will remain a 50 percent, provided the student makes a good-faith effort, the district said."

Question is, who will determine what "good faith effort" is? Depends on what the meaning of Is, is.

Methinks that the market is responding to the Prednent's Porkzilla & budget (Son of Porkzilla) much like Rory Breaker in "Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels":

Berlet98:
Mass Resistance webpage, and their break down of changes pushed by a pro-homosexual agenda is why I turned from supporting civil unions into being completely against them. I too don't care what the hell they do in their private life, but MA is a prime example of where the gay agenda stops: it doesn't -- until it is in every facet of your life, from your job to your children's school.

The Quandary of Anti-Semitism

There’s been a notable and noticeable spike in anti-Semitism worldwide but when that spike actually began spiking seems in dispute. What’s also disputable is its significance and its value as news.

During and following Israel’s invasion of Gaza late last year, which happened to coincide with revelations of the Bernie Madoff multi-billion dollar scam and the worldwide economic turmoil, anti-Semitic activity seemed to peak and hasn’t dissipated since. It was attributed to Israel’s disproportionate killing of thousands of Gazans and the fact that Madoff was Jewish and had defrauded thousands, with few references to the fiscal upheavals.

What wasn’t emphasized in much of the media was that Israel had been provoked beyond measure before retaliating and conceded the disproportionate killing and casualties and that a similar disproportionate number of Madoff’s victims were Jews and Jewish institutions. Israel’s actions were brutal but defensible in light of ceaseless Hamas’ missile attacks on Israel. And when someone who is Jewish rips off his own people, can that reasonably be described as anti-Semitic?

Also, those events may have caused an irrational increase in anti-Semitic sentiment but were they the cause of that sentiment’s existence in such disparate locales as Venezuela and in much of Europe? Did they reflect an overall increase in such venom?

I think not, mainly because that venom never really went away in many areas of the globe and in other areas it has always been relatively inconsequential.

In Hugo Chavez’ Venezuela, for example, the irrepressible president for life–at least that was his aim before the collapse of oil prices–condemned a January 30th attack on a Caracas synagogue which was followed by “a small grenade” hurled at a Jewish center a month later: http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/world/5356087/small-grenade-lobbed-at-jewish-centre-in-venezuela/.

Those attacks, rather than igniting a general Venezuelan version of kristalnacht, . . .

Thanks for posting my Dallas Tea Party picture, VH. It was strange attending my first protest ever, but oddly empowering. We are going to have to continue and expand this movement if we want to keep our country from going down the tubes.

Global warming protest meets massive snowstorm. DC-area residents like me understand just how ironic this is, in March, when it should be 60 ish degrees. Hopefully they will stop doing these global warming events in time for planting season.

Pete,
Demonstrations aren't really a conservative strong point..not for the average working man. this fella is concerned only with making his family better...he shrugs when the government imposes more restrictions...you'll see him and his ilk speak his mind when they can no longer tolerate a government that takes food from their childrens' mouths. They will speak in actions..not words.
now the popular government will condemn them...the "uppity mule" won't plow anymore..no matter how much you beat him...
the conservative mules will be show their disappointment by kicking...

Another place to send envirokooks off to - New Delhi

MARK and Cathy Delaney don't need to see the hit movie Slumdog Millionaire. The Brisbane couple experience slum life in India every day.

For 13 years they have lived in the shanty towns of the Indian capital, New Delhi, raising their children and sharing their lives with the locals. Their two sons, Tom, 12, and Oscar, 7, were born in India and have lived most of their lives in slums.

The family home, in a neighbourhood called Janta Mazdoor Colony, is about the size of a typical Australian bedroom. They have no running water, no TV, no fridge and no washing machine. Two mattresses, used to sleep on at night, double as a "lounge" during the day. Meals are eaten sitting on the floor and they share with neighbours a squat toilet in a small bathroom.

But the Delaneys are not complaining. For them, living in a slum has been deeply enriching.

"It baffles us that more people in Australia who say they are sick of their lives don't do something like we have," says Cathy Delaney, who holds a masters' degree in pure mathematics.

Hard workers plan to reduce efficiency to escape Obama's tax noose

Obama's budget proposal calls for $989 billion in new taxes over the next 10 years, most of which will be earned from increased taxes on individuals who make more than $200,000 and from families who make more than $250,000.

Dr. Sharon Poczatek, who runs her own dental practice in Boulder, Colo., said that she too is trying to figure out ways to get out of paying the taxes proposed in Obama's plan.

"I've put thought into how to get under $250,000," said Poczatek. "It would mean working fewer days which means having fewer employees, seeing fewer patients and taking time off."

"Generally it means being less productive," she said.

"The motivation for a lot of people like me – dentists, entrepreneurs, lawyers – is that the more you work the more money you make," said Poczatek. "But if I'm going to be working just to give it back to the government -- it's de-motivating and demoralizing."

Move along, nothing to see here, just not-racism in Detroit

Speakers advocating for the deal were taunted by the crowd and cut short by Council President Monica Conyers, who presided over the hearing like an angry bulldog; whites were advised by the citizens to, “Go home.”

Opponents were allowed to rant and ramble on uninterrupted about “those people” who want to steal Detroit’s assets and profit from the city’s labors.

A pitiful Teamster official who practically crawled to the table on his knees expressing profuse respect for this disrespectful body was battered by both the crowd and the council.

When he dared suggest that an improved Cobo Center would create more good-paying jobs for union workers, Conyers reminded him, “Those workers look like you; they don’t look like me.”

Desperate, he invoked President Barack Obama’s message of unity and was angrily warned, “Don’t yousay his name here.”

The moonbatty left must be so disappointed. Although with Chairman Zero at the helm, embryo destruction for other reasons should continue at a pace they consider satisfactory.

Burning, re your article above on hard workers. Of course we will see this all over. This isn't rocket science, but Zero is too stupid to realize that when you tax something, you get less of it. I am not a $250K-er, but I absolutely would cut back clients to keep income as low as possible. Zero is ignoring the John Galt effect because he thinks he's above the law of unintended consequences.
