Obama Nation Foreign Policy Follies

Glassy-eyed moonbats promised that all the governments of the world would drop their envious resentments and love America, once Chairman Zero ascended to his throne. But even as Bush annoyed other leaders by failing to sacrifice American interests to theirs, Obama Nation is rubbing them the wrong way through sheer incompetence.

Comrade Obama's dismissive treatment of Prime Minister Gordon Brown has ruffled British feathers. Administration lackeys have retreated behind the plausible excuse that the Boy Wonder is too tired to attend to foreign policy, because he is in way over his head.

Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.
Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.
British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

Obama's gift to the visiting PM was a cheesy DVD collection. Apparently, no one told The Anointed One that Brown is nearly blind.

Maybe POTUS isn't an entry level executive position after all, no matter how impressive a candidate's ethnic credentials.

Shrillary, on the other hand, has been around awhile, so she'll have to come up with another excuse for her bumbling:

Russian media has been poking fun at US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after she gave her Russian counterpart a "reset" button with an ironic misspelling.
Clinton's gift to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at their meeting in Geneva on Friday evening was meant to underscore the Obama administration's readiness to "to press the reset button" in ties with Moscow.
But instead of the Russian word for "reset" (perezagruzka) it featured a slightly different word meaning "overload" or "overcharged" (peregruzka).
Daily newspaper Kommersant put a prominent picture of the fake red button on its front page and declared: "Sergei Lavrov and Hillary Clinton pushed the wrong button."
A correspondent for NTV television called it a "symbolic mistake," pointing out that US-Russian ties had become overcharged in recent years due to discord over such issues as missile defence and last summer's war in Georgia.

It isn't only the economy the Obama and his merry gang of socialist looters are going to leave in ruins. When sanctimonious liberal fools bleated that the world hated us under W, what they meant was that the world feared us. It won't for long.

not to mention that those American-market DVDs will not play in the UK's DVD players.

Did anyone see this from Mark Steyn?

Barack Obama is the first African-American president, so the (British) prime minister gave him an ornamental desk-pen holder hewn from the timbers of one of the Royal Navy’s anti-slaving ships of the 19th century, HMS Gannet. Even more appropriate, in 1909 the Gannet was renamed HMS President.

The president’s guest also presented him with the framed commission for HMS Resolute, the lost British ship retrieved from the Arctic and returned by America to London, and whose timbers were used for a thank-you gift Queen Victoria sent to Rutherford Hayes: the handsome desk that now sits in the Oval Office.

And, just to round things out, as a little stocking stuffer, Gordon Brown gave President Obama a first edition of Sir Martin Gilbert’s seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill.

In return, America’s head of state gave the prime minister 25 DVDs of “classic American movies.”

Is there any way that a charge of "National Embarrassment" could be used to bring about impeachment proceedings against this small, contemptible ignoramus we are being forced to use for a president?

BO has redefined trashiness.

Look on the bright side. Even with this horrible economic slump and a bumbling DemocRAT idiot at the helm, America can survive another four years.

Look forward to a Republican majority in the mid-terms and Republican presidents for many many years to come in another four years.

I don't see how Obama "not getting enough rest" would prevent a competent staff of the President of the United States to advise and assist him in functions of State such as this. The simple fact is Obama isn't interested in being the President of the United States, Obama is interested in dictating to the United States.

John Derbyshire had a pretty good take on the incident as well.

Did President Mutt have 'Deep Throat' in with the DVDs that can be had from a 2AM infomercial for $19.95?
Now he wants to meet the Queen? Right!

'Booger off, you bloody little wog!' would be my response to such a request.

Or better yet, arrange a meeting with HRH and send that dork Prince, Charles, instead. They can discuss polo. The chief trailer trash lo-rent mutt POS knows all about polo ponies, I'm sure!

The Red House... I should say, there are enough around here that would know better than that, and at the very least show the "Red House" what it's really worth.

"I don't see how Obama "not getting enough rest" would prevent a competent staff of the President of the United States to advise and assist him in functions of State such as this."

Right, "a COMPETENT staff" are the key words.

"The simple fact is Obama isn't interested in being the President of the United States...."

I think he does want to BE president, but he doesn't want to DO THE JOB of president.

The great thing about the destruction of the Republican party is that, now that you have nothing left to lose, you're finally showing your true face. You're laying it out all out on the table.

I love how you talk about the good old days of George W Bush, when the entire world feared us, yet then compare Obama to Nazis. Guess what, the Nazis favored YOUR point of view, not diplomacy.

Finally you admit you have no interest in being that shining city on a hill. You don't want to be a beacon of hope for the world. You actually admit to wanting to be the monster in the night that makes the other 5.7 billion people who aren't American quake in fear.

Now that they know that there is nothing that will save them, and there's nothing left to lose, the Republican Party is finally comfortable admitting they are evil.

Thank you for proving us liberals right. This is what we've been saying all along.

don't feed the troll.

Those movies must've been in the dollar bin at K- Mart. What a classless President. And people were saying that the world was laughing at us over Bush. At least people were afraid of Bush.

Posted by: nitrain at March 8, 2009 11:03 PM

Sure, Anonymous, except that the Nazis wanted to use fear and power to conquer and oppress. Republicans want to use fear to prevent oppression. Apart from being the complete opposite, the two things are exactly the same.

You would think that a POTUS who believes diplomacy and sitting and talking will end all wars for all time, would put some top notch diplomacy resources on staff. Miss Manners, say. This is such an embarassment.
