Liberal Censorship: It's Not Just for Normal People Anymore
We had eight years to poke fun at the president at every opportunity with the encouragement of establishment authorities. Apparently, that will have to last us awhile:
Dru Lechert-Kelly, 11, a fifth-grader at Llewellyn Elementary School in Southeast Portland, decided to dress up like his role model and dance to a popular YouTube song that features an Obama look-alike dancing to a parody called "I Can Do Whatever I Like."
Dru performed the skit in front of teachers and students during a rehearsal for Llewellyn's annual talent show Thursday. He wore a navy blue suit, white shirt, red tie, black shoes and an Obama mask purchased at a costume shop. The choreographed routine ended with Dru on the floor in the splits.
The audience loved it. But authorities decreed that Dru could perform the show only if he refrained from wearing the Obama mask. Without the mask, the performance makes no sense, so the show will not go on.
At 11 years old, Dru doesn't know any better to than to be a fan of Chairman Zero. Presumably so are his "parents," a pair of homosexuals who acquired him from a Romanian orphanage and took an active role in his performance:
[B]oth coached their son to "have lots of bop" and "use your shoulders" during his routine.
Considering themselves to be part of a privileged minority class, they squealed in outrage that their little project would be subject to politically correct censorship. But what goes around, comes around.
On a tip from Viking04.

As O'Reilly said: "Karma's a bitch, moonbats!!"
...No he didn't really say that, but I'd pay to hear it.

Given the leftist bent in Portland, I'm surprised they didn't make it mandatory for the whole class to participate, masks and all.
Truthfully, I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, I say let the kid do his thing - I wouldn't like it if he was being censored for portraying John McCain, or W, or someone else on the right. On the other hand, it's great to see political correctness cut the other way for a change. The officials involved won't say what they found "inappropriate and potentially offensive" about the this, but I suspect they were worried about the race grievance groups getting wind of this and raising a stink. So yeah, it looks like the PC police struck at one of their own.

i'll bet the poor little kid doesn't even know he's gay.

Cut him some slack, he's from another country, probably doesn't even speak English.

Well, yes. Imitating Obama singing "I can do whatever I like" is a dig at his arrogance and narcissism. Like his, "I won." The little fruit should be able to dance. It's a free country.

Seems like a nice boy, why are you calling him a "fruit?"
I'm African American and I don't find this offensive at all -- the kid said he admires Obama, and I'm sure his parents do too, so what's the problem?

He should save it up for halloween and realy scare everybody including the obama fools

MST, the problem is that we are living in an age where everything that can possibly be called "offensive" will be called offensive, and those who are seen as guilty of performing such horrible acts will be punished fully. Get used to walking on eggshells... even if you are African American-- you will eventually do something that will offend someone else. We are living in the age of the thin-skinned boobie.
And I agree... the kid deserves no enmity... he's too young to have formed any opinions of his own and has clearly been indoctrinated into his infatuation with the president.

I wouldn't call him a fruit. I'd call him an unfortunate moron with fruits for parents.

This is what you fought for, Liberals. Too bad if it's not what you wanted. We warned you, but you wouldn't listen. It's only going to get WORSE.

Seriously,
I was a liberal/anarchist (rebelled against parents) up until the point that I realized that I was a raging POS.
I was 24.
4 years in the USMC and many manners of sick crap experienced later, I am a mostly hard line conservative with some socially moderate tendencies.
Leave the 11 YEAR OLD CHILD alone, he'll figure it out eventually...
Glad to see the axe swings both ways. More incidents like these will wake up some of our more moderate friends towards the truth of this silliness.
