Government Demands Power to Absorb Major Corporations at Will
As our country rapidly transitions into fascism on its way to communism, the government is seizing alarming new powers with every passing day. Once Americans would have taken up arms to stop outrages like this:
The Obama administration on Tuesday mounted a full-scale push for government authority to shut down troubled institutions like insurer AIG to avoid the need for future bailouts.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, testifying before lawmakers still fuming about big bonuses for executives at bailout recipient AIG, called on Congress for new powers to take over big non-bank financial firms that run amok.
You almost have to admire the nerve of the incompetent tax cheat Geithner calling for still more authoritarian powers, as well as the cleverness of our neo-Marxist rulers' strategy. They buy AIG with 100s of $billions stolen from us, then exploit the company to demonize the tattered remnants of capitalism. In the future, any companies that compete with quasi-government operations like AIG, Fanny Mae, Freddie Mac, etc., or that fail to give generously to the terminal cancer known as the Democrat Party, will be summarily expropriated for the good of the People; that is, to spare us the expense of the government buying them with our money.
On a tip from SK.

It is quite obvious now that Obama is using Hitler's or Stalin's playbook. This is insane. You can pick up a history book and see what Obama is doing.
So, when do we start having "re-education” camps, forced labor, and the eradication of a specific“group” of people. These are the next steps in the playbook, oops, I mean history book.

...To avoid more bailouts. Don't give them any dumbass!!!
Sorry I forgot that makes sense and we can't have any of that in the federal government.

Things are working out so well every time the State intervenes, they naturally want to expand it.
How can private citizens possibly think this is a good idea? I guess they are willing to sacrifice their liberty for an illusion of economic security - or something.
It's about time to put a stop to the Committee on Public Safety.

Ahhh..eliminating the competition of Fannie and Freddie. I never considered that. Now diverting attention from the real culprits is a no-brainer.
Wow, Franks is a lot more powerful than I thought. Mebbe we can substitute him for Cheney.
Brokeback Vader.

Im sure this TOOL will be used to nationalize the OIL COMPANIES the next time prices spike higher.
We are slowly turning into Venezuela and eventually into Cuba if we are lucky, North Korea if we are not.

Christ Almighty, can this be challenged on constitutional grounds? I heard last night that even some dems were muttering "uh, I'm not so sure about that one."

When you own the controlling interest in an enterprise, guess what? YOU GET TO DECIDE if you want to close it down. But rather than fan the flames of hilarity, I mean, hysteria, you have to go no further than the current Time Magazine to find that the disagreement is about why the administration keeps AIG afloat. Is it because AIG has been a major political contributor (NB 50% Dem, 50% Repub), or the Goldman Sachs minions at every level of the process (Goldman does MUCH better w/ AIG in business)?

Maybe he will let Maxine Waters start with the oil companies like she wanted to do last May. I mean, she did so well on getting TARP to her bank, she's a natural. Maybe she could be the next Treas. Sec.
Transarency indeed, if anyone can not see the Marxism so rampant in today's Democrat party they are blind. And none is so blind as he who will not see.
