Feds Go After Sheriff Joe
The bad guys taking total control of the federal government is not good news for local officials who do their jobs with integrity. An example is legendary Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has repeatedly stood up to moonbat slugs like Phoenix Mayor Filmstrip Phil Gordon and former Arizona Governor Janet "Crappy Nappy" Napolitano, enforcing immigration laws despite the political elite not wanting them enforced. Farcically, Sheriff Joe's nemesis Nappy is now head of Homeland Security. No one should be surprised that he now has the feds pounding on his door:
Federal authorities have told a high-profile Arizona sheriff that they will investigate his department over allegations of discriminatory practices and unconstitutional searches and seizures.
The U.S. Justice Department said in a letter delivered Tuesday to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio that the investigation will focus on alleged patterns of discrimination based on a person's national origin.
Given the situation around Phoenix, which thanks to invading criminals from south of the border is now second only to Mexico City in kidnappings, Arpaio's main job is to round up Mexicans. Punishing him for "discrimination of a person's national origin" would be like punishing Sergeant York for picking on Germans — which our current rulers no doubt would do, given their habit of sucking up to enemies (Iran, Palestinians, invading Mexican criminals) even while alienating friends (Britain, Israel, Colombia).

On a tip from Wiggins.

Supporters of Joe should grab their guns and protect him when the sinister Obamunists under the guise of being the Federal Government come for him. Joe could deputize them just to make it all legal (legal at least BO - Before Obama)

The abuse of power and position is reaching new heights under Chairman Zero. Geithner has his IRS goons harassing political enemies like the "Tax Cheat" stamp guy and now Nappy going after Sheriff Joe... They'll be more of this in the months ahead.

Dig the sign in the picture.
Small town sheriffs get stereotyped in movies and TV shows as ignorant bullies, but the ones I've encountered in my travels have been hospitable (even polite) and deeply caring about their communities - while also being tough as nails.
My first contact with a small town sheriff came when I was 19 years old, speeding my Datsun B210 (am I aging myself here, or what?) through a small Iowa town while taking a detour from my route to Iowa City. Not only was I doing a generous 20 or so mph above the speed limit, but I blew through a stop sign (though there was no other car in my sight).
Within 10 seconds of my stop sign violation, a sheriff's car appeared in my rear view; I pulled over at once and waited for the officer to confront me. Considering that I did not have my license with me at the time (I had left it in New Orleans two days earlier - long story), I knew I was in trouble; considering that and that I was an out-of-state resident speeding and running a stop sign in a small town, I envisioned days spent breaking rocks on a chain gang.
By his uniform insignia, I realized quickly that the fellow who nabbed me was THE sheriff (not a deputy), and I must admit that at this point I expected to encounter some combination of the sheriffs from "Live and Let Die" and "Smokey and the Bandit". However, while he did speak with a distinct drawl - not Southern, not East or West Texan, not Midwestern - he was professional and very polite. He had me come back and sit in his car with him as he verified that I did have a license, and as he wrote the tickets he chatted with me about where I was from and where I was headed. When I had offered some lame excuse in order to try to avoid a ticket, instead of giving me some Hollywood-hick-sheriff law and order speech, he firmly replied "Son, you're better off getting a ticket from me than getting crushed by some semi-truck getting off the highway" (it was about a mile from I-80). Kinda put things in perspective, ya know?

This guy is the best Sherrif I've ever seen outside of the movies. He keeps getting elected by quite a large margin. The former gov attacking him is not a surprise. Getting the border swarmed at this time is also not a surprise.
