Economic Benefit of Obama Regime Discovered
Incredibly enough, there is a sector of the economy that has actually benefited under Obamanomics — firearms:
Smith and Wesson last week posted third-quarter profits of $2.4 million (£1.7 million), reversing a loss of $1.8 million over the same period the previous year, as its pistol sales leapt 46 per cent and tactical rifle sales more than tripled. Another manufacturer, Sturm Ruger & Co. reported an 81 per cent increase in takings.
The boom in sales has been driven of course by Obama's inevitable attempt to revoke our Second Amendment rights before Hopey Change encounters armed resistance. This attempt is already underway, so buy while you can.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Funny that the bill is sponsored by Bobby Rush, a former leader in the Black Panthers who spent six months in prison on an illegal firearms charge. Guns for thee but not for me, Bobby?
I don't know how much of a chance this bill has of passing - there are probably enough conservative Dems in Congress who don't want to face their still-armed "fly-over" country constituents. I think passage of this bill would spark a revolt on the part of most gun owners, since it's clearly the prelude to confiscation.
In related news, I'm kicking myself for not stocking up on reloading supplies six months ago. Tried to buy a box of primers lately? Unless you're loading shot shells, you're probably out of luck.

This blatant use of fearmongering tactic is exactly what I was talking about in the previous thread. In the history of of America, one Admin "took your guns", and it was the previous one. This weak argument that"The Democrat Party is going to take your rights away" is such dogshit at best. Have you learned nothing from the horrifying events at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, etc? Tightening the restrictions already in place, and providing are law enforcement to carry out regulations safely protects every citizen. Even Flying-Monkeys like yourself. As liberal as I am, I own a gun, am licensed, and ok with it. Yet, I vote Democratic, go figure. As I said before, the policies you support are old and no longer useful in America anymore. Until you modify them, I suggest you pay attention to Rush, "Shut Up! Just Shut up! Until you win something!!!"

Take your meds son.
I'm glad you are licensed and can be tracked, it will be easy for the govment you voted for to violate you and your 2nd Amendment rights.

"Have you learned nothing from the horrifying events at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, etc?" - Kyle.
Yes, Kyle, I've learned to keep a firearm within arm's reach at all times, so I can protect myself and others if some lunatic starts shooting.
Columbine and Virginia Tech were "gun free zones", were they not? Boy, that worked out well...

Funny thing is they don't want liberty or security, what do these people want?

If anti-gunners were serious they'd have campaign signs in their front yards proclaiming "this home is gun free".
Posted by: Jimbo at March 15, 2009 3:47 PM
Aloha Jimbo.
To add to the point you made, I'd like to see them have "this is a gun free car" bumper stickers too.
Posted by: Oiao at March 15, 2009 3:56 PM
Jimbo, I can see a few folks here putting up such a sign. It's called "hunting over bait," and is against the game regs in most states.

That would have been SLICK WIllIES, Bush let it expire.
PabloD
It's called "hunting over bait," and is against the game regs in most states. Not in Texas hell I've got a feeder hanging off the back of my urban assult vechicle that holds 150#'s of feed, and it's legal to hunt from a vechicle, but of course once the shooting starts all reg's are out the window.

Never mind...Congress begins with "con".

This is just comedic, like I said, I am glad you come with your brain cells actually producing something, though I am not sure what. The Clinton Admin signed a Bill that was put on his desk under Republican majority. It was the Bush Admin that sent Blackwater down to NOLA after Katrina to confiscate weapons. And Watching, I love the Coultergeist use of language there..."take my meds" oh, you are a funny guy. And Spurwing, funny you make the concentration camp reference. Was it not Republican leadership, many of whom are still seated and the Bush White House who profiled people and rounded them up? And wasn't Republicans who allowed a sitting US Senator to be on "the no fly list" ? You guys are so worried about things Barack Obama "may" do, and try and rewrite history. I did not expect this site to take a Stephanie Miller approach to news. Although, she does it quite better, and is spot on.
Posted by: Kyle at March 15, 2009 6:50 PM
Kyle, those are a lot of words amounting to nothing more than a stinking pile of shit.
Answer the question, Obama boot-licker: will you or will you not put a sign on your front lawn proclaiming that your house is indeed a gun-free zone?
Posted by: Anonymous at March 15, 2009 7:10 PM
Anonymous: You made me so angry, I could come over to your house and SHOOT you! Oh, wait.....
You're just like all male, white, Christians, and right wing Hitler types, we should round you up and send you on boxcars to concentration camps where we can give you showers.....oh, yeah, duh.
I'm confused.
Posted by: Kyle at March 15, 2009 7:16 PM
That is irrelevant. However, no, I would not put that sign up, why would I? And "Boot Licker?", surely you jest? Giving the man a chance do his job before bashing him? Not my style.

Jimbo the sign "this home is gun free" made me chuckle. Good point.
Posted by: Parker at March 15, 2009 8:16 PM
Forget them putting a sign in their yard; put one in your own yard with a big arrow pointing towards your gun hating neighbor's house that says, "The people next door do NOT own a gun."
Posted by: Henry at March 15, 2009 8:44 PM
Poor, poor Kyle. He's confused.
Posted by: Anonymous at March 15, 2009 8:49 PM
Have you learned nothing from the horrifying events at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, etc?
Yes. If law abiding people had been allowed to carry concealed weapons, the gunmen could have been stopped quickly and lives would have been saved.
And as for opposing that Cult Leader Kyle calls his president, as a member of Dear Leader's own administration put it: "I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration."
Funny how dissent ceased to be patriotic on January 20th of this years, isn't it?

It's always amusing when misguided liberals think that declaring certain zones "gun-free" actually results in less crime. One need only look at Washington D.C. for a quick rebuttal. And yet, Kyle, keeping with the illusion, mentions Columbine and Virginia Tech, both "gun-free" zones. That worked well didn't it? Imagine if you will, if both areas allowed concealed-carry by those who jumped through the hoops and met the qualifications. Do you really think, Kyle, that the mentally ill students at those schools would have had the opportunity to walk around shooting people at will? Do you think the Virgina Tech shooter would have been able to saunter around for over an hour taking the lives of others?
For further evidence that tightened restrictions on gun ownership and carry laws are counter-intuitive, simply look at England. Guns, from what I understand, are essentially outlawed. To my knowledge it's very difficult if not impossible for the average citizen to legally own one. So what trend have we seen? Why, violent crime with edged weapons is up! So the proposed solution? Why, we should monitor and restrict the sale of edged weapons!
What this overlooks is basic human nature. There are bad people in this world. They want to rape, steal, murder, destroy, and a host of other ills. These are bad people. If there were no guns or knives in the world, they would use rocks, or 2X4's, or anything they can get their hands on, to commit their evil deeds while looking out for their own safety. Geez, even your average idiotic criminal will at least pretend to have a gun during a robbery, even if it's just a comb in his pocket. Why is that? It's to ensure compliance and his own personal safety.
It's silly, to say the least, to think that keeping guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens somehow makes us all safer, when every single bit of evidence we have says the exact opposite.
I pity poor folks like Kyle who are so misguided as to think they're somehow more logical than those they disagree with. Of course, he tries to establish his bonafides by claiming to be a gun owner, which may or may not be true. However, I would suggest you take a class on gun ownership and carry laws, Kyle, at a bare minimum. You obviously have a lot to learn about guns in general, and your responsibility as a gun owner includes at least being familiar with them and their operation.
Posted by: cowlove at March 16, 2009 4:53 AM
Maybe I will post a gun free sign on my property. Then when the thugs try to break in I'll just start shooting. That'll learn 'em.
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government."
Now we know the reason the democrats (as a whole) don't like guns. Those of us that are boosting the firearms industry are preparing for the very possible. 'nuf said.
