An Invitation From Newt
Some will say that going to Tea Parties accomplishes nothing because the liberal media ignores them. What does not going accomplish? Find the one nearest you here.

You know, that's great. I've got no problem with the tea parties - at least its a start. But I have a hard time watching Newt co-opt his way into the tea party phenomenon. He rides dissenters like the village bicycle. On the whole, I like Newt, but he had his chance and sold out, in my opinion. He got caught up in the success he had with the Contract for America stuff and he forgot about his job as Speaker.
Wasn't he on TV championing some leftist crap with Hillary Clinton not too long ago? Anyway, my opinion is that he could give a rats ass about the tea party folks and is using this to boost his stock over as a grass roots guy for 2012. I don't think Newt's intentions are bad, but ultimately, he's a big government Republican know it all. I guess to sum up my rant, Newt is all about Newt.
In any case, here's an Atlas Shrugged-like tea party idea for you. Since we all can't just disappear as people did in the book, how about we all pull all of our money out of the stock market on April 15th, i.e., all the mutual funds, etc., making it disappear instead. Yes, I know, we'll all take a huge beating, but what the hell! At least you can send a message while the money is still worth something. If they keep going down this path, you might as well kiss that retirement plan goodbye anyway, and if you doubt that, you are incredibly naive.

Skip the "fix it" and go straight to the new leaders.

10s of Millions of normal concerned US Citizens can turn out an peacefully protest and the MSM will still ignore it.
The Tea Party needs to be held at each local MSM HQ. Surround the Media while protesting. Create a situation where the MSM can not ignore this mass of concerned Citizens.

I live in Central Hellannoys, so it's hard to find a lot of people to rally on a work day. I think we got maybe a couple dozen the last time we had a rally for George W. Bush back in 2004 to get out the vote.
But thanks for posting that, VH. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it and if I can't participate in any local event, I can at least go out and buy another gun that day.
