Alan Keyes on the Cataclysmic Ascension of the Moonbat Messiah

The election of Barack Obama is the greatest tragedy to befall Western Civilization at least since Byzantium fell to the Muslims in 1453. Already some public figures are beginning to admit to the scope of the unfolding catastrophe — former UN ambassador Alan Keyes, for example:

On a tip from Al C.

Great clip. Alan Keyes lays it out a it is.

I'm about as conservative as they come, and Alan Keyes is a complete and total embarrasement to the conservative movement and humanity in general. I can't believe anyone takes him seriously.

Posted by: Barry at March 8, 2009 4:05 PM

Thank God I'm a liberal. I honestly can't imagine what it would be like having to be a conservative.

I go to websites like Daily Kos or Huffington Post. Their main political topics can be pages long, full of citations, historical perspective, and analysis. When I read the comments, obviously there are some boneheaded ones, as in inevitable when you have thousands of posters every day. But for the most part, the comments are full of examples from case law, past presidential administrations, constitutional citations, historical and geographical context are richly cited and illustrated. The liberal commenters debate with eachother constantly, disagreeing often on anything from guns to religion to health care.

Let's look at this website. It's topics are mostly 3-10 sentences, with no analysis, no history, no facts. Even incredibly complicated topics, you guys somehow think can be summarized in three sentences. Then there's the comments. First of all, an incredible amount of group think is displayed, as all the conservatives here pretty much seems to agree with eachother about everything.

Then what's amusing is that people here simply don't back up their opinions, they simply attack liberals. They don't cite case law and history and the constitution. They just say "ha ha liberals are so fucking stupid" I'd say 95% of comments on here are "conservatives are awesome" and "liberals are stupid and suck."

I can't imagine being trapped in a community so intellectually bankrupt that "we rule, they drool" actually comprises almost all of your conversations. Where there's no in depth analysis. No historical, economical, or legal discussion and debate. The comments here could have been generated by any 10 year old.

I'll take the web sites where yes, you have to deal with idiot liberals (for surely no social or political group is lacking in idiots), but at least it comes with lengthy back and forth debates regarding the preamble to the constitution, thank you very much.

When your website consists of nothing more than people saying "we're awesome" and "liberals are stupid" that says a lot more about you than it does about liberals.

tell a lie, enrage a conservative.

tell the truth, enrage a liberal.

Quite a sense of humor you have there, what did you say your name was? Sandra "FOWLER"?

Why don't you go and practice your master bation to release your own energy?

Sandra: you suck.

Posted by: Hoof Hearted at March 8, 2009 4:35 PM

Sandra: and you're stupid.

Posted by: Hoof Hearted at March 8, 2009 4:55 PM

Sandra reads the mass hysteric collective delusions of underemployed losers on moonbat websites and sees scholarly dissertations on the state of the world. I guess Kos and HuffPo commenters must be posting peer-reviewed and foot noted observations now. What a crock. Your mind is locked in a prison of its own making. Hang on, help is on the way. Reality is starting to make a comeback.

Posted by: Beef at March 8, 2009 4:59 PM

Sandra

"When your website consists of nothing more than people saying "we're awesome" and "liberals are stupid" ....

No. We recognize that as a fact and we start from that point. I will list proof: The existence of Obama, Holter, Schumer, Clinton, Boxer, Sharpton, Pelosi, Reid, Biden, Franken, Barney Frank, Waxman, et. al. The fact that liberals have voted for them and that they are where they are is sufficient to make the point. There are several hundred more.

Your statements that liberals are not a solid front and often disagree proves nothing. It merely shows that liberals are in a competition to come up with the best way to destroy the country. Your statement that we are guilty of group think is wrong. We are defined by this recognition that liberals are working to destroy the country. You can't use the very definition of what makes conservatives to make this argument.

By the way, how do you even type the word Constitution when you defend a party that wants to kill free speech (fairness doctrine), kill unborn babies, take away the right to bear arms, and support a man born in Kenya who has stolen the presidency?

Posted by: SnowSnake at March 8, 2009 5:14 PM

Sandra-

If you are looking for detailed analysis of issues from a conservative perspective, I recommend the sit 'American Thinker'. That's my favorite, but there are many other conservative sites where footnotes and citations are employed. We come to moonbattery for a brief checkup on what you wacky liberals are up to. It is often simply for amusement, like watching Jon Stewart would be for you. Although it also tends
to make me fear for the future of humanity... Read "Why You're Wrong About the Right" if you have any honest interest in what approx. 1/2 of this country believe.

Posted by: DanielleNJ at March 8, 2009 5:22 PM

And by the way Sandra,

are you referring to the same Daily Kos where they posted a repugnant mockery of Anne Coulter's eulogy for her recently deceased father?

Posted by: DanielleNJ at March 8, 2009 5:24 PM

The final word on Sandra will be given by Spurwing Plover. I can't wait. (I'm serious)

Go for it Spurwing!

Posted by: Hoof Hearted at March 8, 2009 5:29 PM

Sandra: just for fun, once in a while I drop by DKos or HuffPo to see how unhinged the contributors are. I'm not talking about the random comments posted by visitors; I'm talking about the featured articles. All I see are ad hominem attacks and straw men being knocked down. I suspect that, ten years from now, most of them will still be frothing at the mouth about GWB.
Oh, and if you want to imagine what it's like to be a conservative, just give more money to local charities and quit believing everything (better yet, anything) Keith Olbermann says. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Posted by: PabloD at March 8, 2009 5:30 PM

Liberals and the press in general have marginalized Keyes to the point where mention of his name is an "embarrassment".
This was done precisely so that conservatives could not point to Keyes comfortably and with assurance that he accurately represented their views.
The liberals could then use the race card whenever liberal policies came under fire, with the understanding that conservatives would not be able point to any legitimate and supportive black representatives.

Conservatives should not buy into that by discounting the points he makes.
Liberals did this to Newt Gingrich and tried to do it to Reagan.
Keyes puts things together factually, but compared to a lot of the 'Republicans' and RINOs we have as spokespeople, a somewhat harsh fashion for dainty ears.

I imagine liberals will rant against Keyes as usual, but once again will not address any specific issues he raises.

As In.....

Sandra, Its the arrogancy of liberalism to view everything as "incredibly complicated" that requires you to over-intellectualize, over-interpret, come up with pseudo-solutions to problems liberalism creates and then to post your loose references to facts, history and case law.
You are actually saying that conservative posters here don't refer to history? Get real, Toots. We refer to history constantly bc of the damage done by liberalism.
BTW I personally don't enjoy seeing obscenities used by conservatives (we maintain a lot more dignity in debates than do liberals), but I've been to the liberal sites you mention and they are vile beyond anything posted here or beyond human endurance for that matter.

Also, what you are perceiving as group-think is actually a consensus driven by the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of liberalism. And BTW, while I understand that liberals desperately lack a sense of humor, a lot of comments here are actually kind of funny.
(you know, like as in a joke)

(This is why, even though I have a strong stomach, I hate responding to liberals: they're all over the place with non sequiturs, accusations, moving targets and pointless rhetorical fallacies.)

Moonbattery is a great name for this website. Obama plans on raising taxes for 5% of the population by 4.6%

Put aother way:

Earn $1 million today (of adjusted gross income, i.e., after deductions), and one would be left with $650,000. If the Obama plan passes, that same person would be left with $604,000.

It's not a difference of opinion. You are flat out insane if you think a 4.6% tax increase on 5% of the population is worse than the slave trade, the Holocaust, Fascism, the Cold War, The Stalinist purges, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the death of 100 million native Americans, the Armenian genocide, September 11th, or any other of a million atrocities that have occurred in the last 500 years.

There is obviously no reasoning with people like you. Plain and simple. But what makes it pathetic is that I highly doubt that any person on this website is in the top 5% of the economic strata. The most powerful people in the world have YOU defending them. They actually having you believe that THEY'RE the victims. And not only victims, but greater victims than Holocaust survivors. The Holocaust simply pales in comparison to their having to pay a few more dollars.

I'd love to get a Survivor in a room with any one of you. I'd love to see you tell them to their face that rich people getting taxed more supercedes what happened to them in is tragic scope.

However, there is great consolation in the fact that your opinion is held by less than 1/3rd of the country. The DISAPPROVAL rates for Obama are the same as Bush's approval ratings. Ohh, there's a shock, neo con Bush supporters don't like Obama. I'm freaking shocked.

But you can't appeal to ANYONE outside of your very very very far right enclave. Your numbers are diminishing, not growing, by the day.

Posted by: Sandra at March 8, 2009 6:07 PM

A great many people think that every stupid argument put forth by people such as Sandra needs to be counter argued. I disagree with this line of reasoning.

Every person is entitled to what they earn. To have the government decide what proportion of a person's income is theirs and what is not is not is the very essence of tyranny and will only grow by leaps and bounds under Obama.

Sandra, if I were the only person in the entire world to hold my opinion, I would not change it simply because everyone else in the world told me I was wrong. I would only change my opinion because it was wrong.

Sandra, our numbers are not diminishing. Far from it. Our numbers are growing. Yours are diminishing.

Posted by: Kevin R at March 8, 2009 6:42 PM

Since I don't recall ever saying that a tax hike is worse than the Holocaust, I feel comfortable responding.
You're right, Sandra, I don't have a $1M AGI per year. And I don't think the government should rob someone who does of an additional $46,000 per year to pay for the absurd pork-laden "stimulus". I don't think opposing increased taxation is exclusively the province of the "rich." But, then again, I'm comfortable working for a living and not relying on looting the pocketbooks of others.

Posted by: PabloD at March 8, 2009 6:45 PM

Sandra, isn't it nice your comments are here? Van Helsing is a man of honor. My comments. reasoned, civil, have been taken off huffpo and dailykos. But yours remain here. BTW, I have a PHD from Columbia and was well indoctrinated in New England private schools before that. So I know you very well, Very well. You are not anonymous. At school I learned that we had to coddle the masses who were not as fortunate as us. We would be okay because we would be part of the system that took care of them. That's why my rich relatives and wall street colleagues give big bucks to Obama and dems (like all those recently arrested wall streeters, and all the presidents and the now failing banks - look them up and see who they give money to). Because at the end of the day those rich will not be punished. Oh, but this time they will be - they too were duped - and they will be so sorry - they thought they had paid their bill. They did, but they've been double crossed. And for the record, why do you assume that people who believe in a free market economy and limited government are uneducated and do not make a lot of money? Isn't that making a judgement based on no information? I make loads, and I'd like to keep it - especially since I make it honestly, not on Wall Street, and employ people. I wish you luck Sandra. I am sure you think you are a caring person, who is more deeply concerned with "the down trodden" than people who think that a free market, limited government are. In the end, you will see what you wrought. And I hope your children like it. You sound like you are smart and maybe over educated, as I was. Perhaps you were foolish enough to believe your professors, your loser, unhappy bitter professors. That's your loss, please do not impose your unhappiness on other people by telling them what's right and wrong. You should get to know someone who is conservative (some of your friends might be conservative but they are afraid to tell you because you may think a person is completely defined by their political belief). It's not working "Sandra." We know who you are, and we are not impressed. If you think comments and articles on the HuffPo are reasoned, well, you have a home there. Best wishes. We hope you survive your world. We hope you like it.

Boy Sandra it's people like you that fuck this great nation. You are not worth the effort of explaination why because you are to brain washed and stupid to undertand. Another dumbass from the 60's I'll bet.

Posted by: Watching at March 8, 2009 7:33 PM

LOL! I note "Sandra" spent a whole lot of hot air telling the board how dumb we are because of our "we're awesome" and "liberals are stupid" mentality by basically saying "liberals are awesome" and "conservatives are stupid". Surely you all see the fine irony.

Silly liberal hypocrite bitch.

And "Barry" - I'm certain Dr. Keyes would have a similar opinion of you (if you were ever to become important enough to have others seek your opinion). And you are obviously a flat out liar when you state "I'm about as conservative as they come..." Sheesh. Are you "Sandra's" beaten-down mate?

Posted by: Jimbo at March 8, 2009 7:38 PM

I don't like Obama due to the fact that he's trying to change this nations polical land scape to a European style socialism. Dependents like Sandra state that our numbers are diminshing. I THINK NOT SILLY LIBERAL BRAIN WASHED BROAD! The left is trying to silence radio hosts like Rush Limbuagh and Michael Savage because they tell the truth about what the left is up to. Their listenership is growing Sandra. The truth is coming out about the Obama agenda and it's not the AMERICAN WAY. Sandra you are a pathetic leberal.

Alan Keyes is an also-ran political narcisist who can't stand to be out of the spotlight.

I will just say for the record:

Sandra has sparked debate here (some reasonable, some irrationally charged with emotion...), and this has in many ways already dismissed her own allegation of vapid and simplistic commentary from the Right.

Sandra has gotten her kicks thanks to some of the more "goat-gotten" responses to her diatribe.

Oh well, perhaps she could visit me at my site and leave a message on a post. I'd happily debate the issues I've written about in a rational and respectful fashion...

Posted by: Oiao at March 8, 2009 11:32 PM

Sandra: Part of the power of conservatism is that it's based on simple, factual precepts. We don't need pages of debate to prove our points; if the commentators you read can't say what they need to say in a few sentences, then perhaps that's an indication that what they're saying has no real substance.

And do you see the irony in coming here to complain about the lack of reasoned argument, footnotes, and citations of case law and then, in the very next post, claiming we think tax hikes are a greater crime than the Shoah, and you'd love to ask a Holocaust survivor's opinion on the comparison?

Where are your footnotes and citations of case law demonstrating that we 'neocons' think tax hikes are worse than the Holocaust?

Surely you didn't just make an emotive, unreasoned, unsupported straw-man argument in an attempt to show that conservatives are awful, and liberals are great, did you?

Why does Sandra "thank God"? One unshakable principle of Liberal belief is that there is no God, except Allah, and Baal, and Umgbrtzw, and Satan....

Posted by: Randy at March 9, 2009 11:30 AM

It's comments like "one unshakable principle of liberal belief is there is no god...." that I find extremely irritating. And I am not even a liberal. Each side seeks to demonize the other. Half of the garbage said about each side is just an inflammatory, generalized salvo thrown to make the other side look bad. I know many, many conservatives, many liberals, and many independents and liberterians because of the nature of my work. Most are good people who want the same things but have different ideas about how to bring those things about. Stop demonizing people you don't agree with. You can respectfully disagree with someone without tearing them down, demonizing them, or spewing hateful rhetoric.
