Taking the Adult Out of Adult Beverages

According to the Nanny State, there could be no such thing as an adult beverage, because we are all children to be supervised closely. In "Live Free or Die" New Hampshire, a new law has been proposed that would prevent restaurants from serving more than one drink per hour and four drinks per sitting to a customer.

Courts will soon rule on whether the clock starts when you order the drink or when you're served, and whether it counts as a new sitting if you move to a different table.

Next will come regulations to ensure that you don't swallow your drink too quickly.

On a tip from V the K.

With federally mandated biometric drivers licenses, the regulations will be a snap. You will simply swipe your DL for each drink. The database will then look at your health condition to see if you are eligible for alcohol (diabetes, obeisity, alcoholism, you already had a drink less than one hour ago, etc).

It feels so good to be cared for in an uncaring world.

But you can smoke all the pot you want.

Oh, look. This won't go anywhere. It's only been proposed by one fanatic. Courts aren't going to "be ruling soon" on that stuff. Some towns in NH and states like it, only have one general store and one tavern. Those and logging are all the business there is in the deep woods. Let Eddie Edwards just try and take away a lumberjack's beer, or a barkeep's livlihood.

"This won't go anywhere."

Isn't that what they said about "hate crime" laws?

There is no level of idiocy, no un-American policy that is beyond the pale for the Democrats, IMHO.

Problem solved: Just bring your own flask when you go out to eat. Order a soft drink and mix your own.

Andrea, they'll be monitoring that too eventually

I don't want to make anyone nervous but I read an article (and I'm trying to find it so I can post the link) where some guy was fined for having too much heat escaping from his house.

Now, you've all seen Google Map Street View, where they drive around and take a street-level photo of every house and building, right?

The next step will be INFRA-RED "street views" of homes. A car will drive around taking IR pictures and if it shows warm or cool air leaking from your home, you'll get a knock on the door. Don't laugh. "Environmentalists" looking to "save the planet" are working on this now. No joke. Remember "He won".

Be very afraid.

Montag you may well be right but they better be ready for a .30.30 round headed for their camera if they try that crap with my house.

Why do I suspect that wealthy upper class Dems will somehow not be subject to this restriction?

My home state of NH has been popping up, sadly, in the news with stories like this after the last few elections have gone to the left.

They should change our state motto from "Live Free or Die" to "Live the Way We Say So You Should So You Don't Accidentally Die Until We Decide it is Time For You To Die."

Although I am scared of the direction this law shows the state is going, I am not scared of this law. The bars have all kinds of ridiculous laws they do not enforce. If I get trashed at a bar in NH it is illegal for the bar to have me in there, but its illegal for them to kick me out. That is just one example.

Farmer Ted, trust me...I'm with you (though I'm sticking with my Remington 870...I want to take out more than the camera).

The spooky part is I've never seen that "Google" car. Hell, with today's technology the camera could be smaller than a dime...who knows.

Point is, they'll be watching. Remember: Michele Obama warned us "Barack will never let you go back to your life as usual..." He may find some of us dig our heels in a little harder than He might want, though!

"They can have my thermostat when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers!"
