Sorry about that. That should have read "Thousands of EARMARKS" last time.

When I was a kid a friend of mine was digging a hole and he kept adding loose dirt. He explained that by doing this he was removing more dirt when he dug and the hole was getting deeper more quickly. I knew something was wrong with my friend at that moment. He died a couple of months later of a fatal brain disease.

The dems think by killing all jobs that create material things by farming, drilling, manufacturing, or building they are creating wealth. By replacing those workers with office people who are concerned to a large extent with putting barriers (taxes, regulations, bans on drilling etc.) in front of the wealth creators, they state that the economy will improve.

The kid with the fatal brain disease would have been smarter than this even when he was dumping dirt back in the hole.

I live in Washington State and here the Dems have brought the economy to it's knees, much as in California. There was a recent item where several so-called "economists and public policy experts" from the Washington State Budget and Policy Center put out a press release urging our State government to raise taxes. This was reported on in the news as if a group of independent minded economists had put their minds together and in good faith were advocating raising State taxes. Turns out that nearly half of these people are neither economists nor public policy experts and all of them are depend on State taxation:

Nearly half the signers of economists’ letter calling for a tax increase are not economists...
http://washingtonpolicyblog.typepad.com/washington_policy_center_/2009/02/nearly-half-the-signers-of-economists-letter-calling-for-a-tax-increase-are-not-economists.html

When a country is being ruled by socialists taxation becomes nothing more than feeding the beast.

How To Catch Wild Pigs: A Parable for Our Time
“You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place.

When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat. You slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly, the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves so they accept their captivity.

That is exactly what is happening to America. . . .

Re: NYU "occupation" video: OK, that was amusing, if only because it shows what a useless bunch of losers those protestors really are. Sadly, there were no zip-cuffs, tasers, and action shots of what OC spray does to a hippie.

Sean Penn bashes Conservatives with his Oscar

Finally, for those – two last finally’s – for those who saw the signs of hatred as our cars drove in tonight, I think it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect, and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren’s eyes if they continue that way of support. We’ve got to have equal rights for everyone. (Wild applause)

I’m very proud to live in a country that is willing to elect an elegant man president. And a country who for all its toughness, creates courageous artists, and this is in great due respect to all the nominees.

THE SPEECH (Parsed)

Looking and sounding every bit the Obamassiah, the president delivered his vaunted speech to the nation, appropriately on Mardi Gras night, and said some truly inspirational things but the bulk amounted to a big pile of aromatic cow chips.

“Obama Says USA will rebuild and emerge stronger…
Obama vows to increase number of soldiers…
Obama vows to seek cure for cancer ‘in our time’…
Obama says bank bailout may cost more than expected…
Obama promises universal EDUCATION THROUGH COLLEGE…
Obama promises universal health care…”

(Drudgereport.com)

Let’s see, now:

Obama Says USA will rebuild and emerge stronger: After weeks of doom and gloom, of crisis talk, of warnings and fear-mongering, Michelle must have grabbed him by his lapel and said, “Hey, Barry, you’ve been laying it on a bit thick, no? Better lighten up, okay! After all, when Bubba says you’re being too negative, it must be time to stop scaring people. And, if you make nice, I’ll wear that sleeveless dress, even in February, since you like it so much.”

Obama vows to increase number of soldiers: This is a very good thing. Retreating troops need lots of support to provide cover, people to wave the white flag, people to prepare new soldiers to go back in a few years to accomplish what we should have done the first time around.

Obama vows to seek cure for cancer ‘in our time’: Excellent! Very Kennedy-esque, sort of like putting a man on the moon within a decade. But, that “in our time” is awfully reminiscent of Neville Chamberlain’s promise...

Look at the liberal media douchebags blaspheme God and laugh about it when introducing Bobby Jindal at the press conference last night.

Obama last night: The state of the unicorn, is magical. All is for the best in this best of all possible looming disasters. It's been said, I don't know if it's true, like much of what I believe but don't understand. It's been said that the Chinese characters for crisis and opportunity are nearly the same. I don't know that for certain. I could just be making this all up, but who's going to fact check me and who will question me?
......
Anyway, I look forward to the next eight to ten years as your LORD, your GOD, and your EXECUTIONER; as I'm told the Aztecs would hail their newly installed kings. I promise sacrifice, on your part; promises and wishful thinking on mine, and the sure and certain hope that together we can bankrupt this country, reconfigure its institutions, and enable the continued reign of both mediocrity and kakistocracy.

Thank you, and may I bless the United States.

That speech, what a bunch of blah blah blah. I don't get it. Why is his speechifying so entrancing to some people? I can give a pretty good speech, too, when called upon, but I don't cause people to swoon. And, I'm getting so tired of his technique of looking side to side. It reminds me of that Far Side cartoon captioned "At the popular dog movie, 'Man Throwing Sticks.'"

Anyway, O did say one thing I agree with. He said that dropping out of high school cannot be an option. I agree, there's no excuse to drop out of high school.
OK, lib lurkers?
