What hath socialism wrought: “Baby-faced boy who became father at 13 'was allowed to share bed with girlfriend, 14'”
Note that all concerned are living in public housing, and doubtless on public assistance.
Someday socialists will realize that you encourage what you subsidize, and discourage what you tax.

Me and my wife live all alone
In a little log hut we call our own;
She loves gin and I love rum,
And don't we have a lot of fun!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
When I go toiling on the farm
I take the little jug under my arm;
Place it under a shady tree,
Little brown jug,'tis you and me.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
'Tis you that makes me friends and foes,
'Tis you that makes me wear old clothes;
But, seeing you're so near my nose,
Tip her up and down she goes.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
If all the folks in Adam's race
Were gathered together in one place,
I'd let them go without a tear
Before I'd part from you, my dear.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
If I'd a cow that gave such milk,
I'd dress her in the finest silk;
Feed her up on oats and hay,
And milk her twenty times a day.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
I bought a cow from Farmer Jones,
And she was nothing but skin and bones;
I fed her up as fine as silk,
She jumped the fence and strained her milk.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
And when I die don't bury me at all,
Just pickle my bones in alcohol;
Put a bottle o' booze at my head and feet
And then I know that I will keep.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
The rose is red, my nose is too,
The violet's blue and so are you;
And yet, I guess, before I stop,
We'd better take another drop.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, don't I love thee!

Of Leeches
Leech: “a bloodsucking worm . . . one who clings to another for personal advantage”
In recognition of their outstanding success in demonstrating all the best and worst a good leech can accomplish, the following are hereby awarded the top three positions as Leeches of the Month:
A. Leader of the pack in the Leechers League would have to be the Mother of the Century, baby breeder extraordinaire, Nadya Suleman, shown below proudly exhibiting her huge carryall:
Ms. Suleman already had 6 kids, no home, no job, no husband, no future, so what else could she do but go for another in vitro fertilization and pop out 8 more little cherubs? Sounds reasonable to me, no?
Of course, Californians, already trying to subsist in a bankrupted state, will have to pick up the multi-million dollar tab over the next umpteen years to raise this leech’s brood. And why does she now have fourteen kids? Because she’s always wanted a large family.
Nadya even has her own website now, http://www.thenadyasulemanfamily.com/, to sucker people into sending her money and goodies.
You got a problem with that?
B. In second place on the Leech List, at the moment, none other than a poor, homeless–and brainless–Florida woman, Henrietta Hughes. . .

Of Lechers
Yesterday’s report, “Of Leeches,” highlighted some notable social and political leeches. What follows is a semi-related companion piece on lechers, which word is close but would only be a cigar to Bill Clinton.
Lecher: ”a lewd, grossly sensual man”
That definiton is grossly outdated, obviously written before the recent onslaught of women, mostly teachers and mostly married, who have been preying on young boys. They could be called lecherettes, I guess, or simply sex-crazed pedophiles but for purposes of this discussion lecherous women will be lumped in with male lechers here. Also included in this study is another sub-class of the classic lecher, namely the male teenie satyr/voyeur/idiot.
Time was when female teachers–we used to call them “lady teachers,” but in many cases that adjective is inapplicable today–were matronly relics. (Many of the lady teachers of olden days resembled White House correspondent, Helen Thomas. This, I believe, is a fabricated pic of Helen wedding Ari Fleischer:)
Point is, they didn’t resemble Ms. Thomas, even in her glory days. Today, they’re generally far more attractive than Helen ever was, and far dumber. The more attractive part is a definite plus but the dumb feature has resulted in repeated instances of female teachers, many reared in the same oversexed culture as the kids they’re supposed to teach, bedding, and sometimes even wedding, underage male students.
One website titled an article, “The Big List: Female Teachers with Students,” which title didn’t give an inkling that it didn’t deal with classroom or extra help with those students but instead with one on one teaching them the nuances of sexual behavior, both off and on campus: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53859.
Those teachers and other school personnel range from the very attractive Angela Comer and Rihanna Ellis, and the infamous DeBra Fave to the positively scary Toni Lynn Woods, Alison Mosbeck, and Angela Palmer. When it comes to scoring, teenage boys aren’t known for their discretion, or taste.
That list includes more instances than I cared to count but it numbers in the dozens of females, most of whom are teachers, caught in their escapades with male minors, caught being the operative word since we don’t have any idea as to how many are not discovered.
It’s no wonder that teenies have been over-sexualized and it has become startling that Americans are startled at the sexualization of teenagers today.
Blame it on the omnipresence of the internet...

"CORDOVA, TN - 52 year-old Robert “Dutch” Schwerin was killed in a shooting Friday, February 6, 2009 at Trinity Commons in Cordova.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Panera Bread Company in the 700 block of north Germantown Parkway.
Memphis Police say there were several witnesses to the shooting. Investigators say Schwerin and another 50 year-old man, still unidentified, argued about their cars. One owned a gray Hummer SUV and the other owned a gray Chevy Yukon. The SUV’s were parked close together and police say that's what started the fight."

Since it takes 9 months from conception... this child is obviously a product of the Bush administrations "abstinence only" program where you just make sure you've coverd up your private parts and then pretend they don't exist. Which kind of works for the "born again" types, but only after they're done "sewing their wild oats" (and depending on how fat and ugly they or their spouse has become).
Otherwise its perfectly believable this boy happened across VtheKs site and got "ideas"....

Monica Crowley and the Politics of Confidence
That Monica Crowley is one deadly woman!
I mean that in the very best of ways. She may be very easy on the eyes but she is indeed deadly to the Democrats and especially to President Barack Obama.
I happened to catch a too brief ten minutes of her 3 p.m. EST broadcast today on WABC, New York, and the absolute Queen of Conservative Zing-mistresses didn’t disappoint. Like a modern day, political Annie Oakley, she took aim at the Obamaniacs and nailed them repeatedly with her commentary.
Whether an original thought or not, she zeroed in on why Obama is a failed president lest than a month into his lone 4-year term. Americans didn’t expect miracles from him, she pointed out. They didn’t expect him to, wizard-like, immediately solve the banking and economic messes we’re in, or any of our messes, for that matter. What they craved, what they hoped and longed for, was one primary thing: Americans wanted this messiah to restore confidence in government and in that he has failed miserably.
Monica focused on all the bailouts, not the AIG and other bailouts but on Obama’s poor choices for his cabinet and other administrative positions, so many of whom have bailed out of contention.
It’s not as if Rahm Emanuel and Company didn’t have adequate time to vet their candidates. After all, most people knew by October that the Obama/Biden ticket would beat McCain/Palin. The mainstream media more than assured that victory in its admittedly one-sided coverage of the campaign. So they had four months, at a minimum, to insure that the job was done right.
It wasn’t, obviously.
Chief among Obama’s cabinet choices was the guy Monica referred to as the administration’s Pee Wee Herman, confessed tax cheat, Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner.. . .

SK,
There are so many times I've felt the way you have (in your post above at 2/4, 1107am), but it doesn't seem to be VH's philosophy. Nor is it mine.
If you want moderated, cut-down-to-just-what-agrees-with-you "freedom of speech", read DailyKos or DU. It seems to me that the ones who bitch the loudest about our loss of free speech are the first ones to restrict it. Perhaps I'm putting words into VH's mouth, but (as a reader/poster here for the last... 2 years?) I think I have a 'feel' for the 'vibe' here.
We're Conservatives.... which means we actually want discussion and debate. If that means putting up with jackasses like Fez, so be it. It's not like we can't successfully slap them down in a couple of posts with a bit of logic! There have been those liberals that spew nothing but foul-mouthed vitriol (a.k.a. Dino).... in those cases, VH has had the decency to ban them.
I, personally, applaud VH for his restraint in the area of "banning". His readers are not libs, we (and I think he) are not fans of any restriction on the first Amendment. Unless you're a complete foul-mouthed dick, you should be able to say what you want to say here.
VH, back me up here? What's the official 'moonbattery' policy?
In other words, I'd rather put up with every other post being a jackass like Fez, than let someone else decide what I will and will-not read or see.

Presidents’ Week and Our Presidents–According to the Brits
It’s always entertaining when the Brits comment on American history; it becomes presumptuous when they evaluate and rank American presidents.
Staffers at the British publication, the Times, did just that during our last national campaign and came up with some interesting picks on the first forty three American presidents: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article5055404.ece.
Their choices for the top nine chief executives were pretty much on the mark and not open for much quibbling, although the order could easily be challenged. Finishing 1-2 in the rankings were Lincoln and Washington and there’s not much debate there though their spots are interchangeable.
FDR as Numero Three can readily be disputed. The British are understandably partial toward Franklin Roosevelt since he immersed us in World War II in large part to save their sorry posteriors and to insure they did not speak German today instead of the Queen’s English. I’d assign Reagan to that third place (from eighth), move Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt up a peg into the fourth and fifth slots, Truman into sixth from seventh just ahead of Ike and, generously, let FDR claim the eighth position followed by James K. Polk.
Rounding out the Times’ top ten, Woodrow Wilson is another result of English indebtedness and partiality since he also saved their litle island when he made us a player in the First World War by involving us in that European conflict and helping to turn the tide against the Kaiser, at the cost of over a quarter million U.S. casualties. Wilson’s War to End All Wars didn’t even come close to accomplishing that goal and the Versailles Treaty paved the way for Hitler and the next world war.
Consequently, I’d put Woodrow somewhere in the third tier, if that.
Other peculiar choices were JFK (11) and LBJ (12). The Times acknowledged that, “Kennedy had a troubling and not entirely successful foreign policy record that included the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Bay of Pigs fiasco and the escalation of the Vietnam War” and that it was Johnson who turned Jack’s civil rights ideas into laws, but both also merit third, or second, tiers by virtue of involving us in Viet Nam and another loss of 60,000 lives in a losing cause.
Nevertheless, JFK’s continuing yet tarnished mystique still carried the day. As for LBJ’s mystique, maybe the Brits are into abusing dogs’ ears and presidents giving press conferences while sitting on the toilet?
President George H.W. Bush. . .

I think SK has a point, but I'm basically in support of hiram in this case. Freedom of speech is precious and I think if you guys cannot slap down bad ideas then you will suffer from some bad ideas of your own anyway.
Registration is not exactly a full curtailment of free speech, and due to the nature of this site being under the control of someone named Van Helsing, I would not expect to have entirely free speech here, at least none guaranteed by the constitution of the USA.
That being said, I think registration is fine, it prevents me and others from using the name of SK or hiram and it allows them to OWN the comments they make. I think a registration system is fine if you also allow comments to be posted anonymously. I think a system of registration, anonymous, and ALSO to just pick a name other than "anonymous" is also worth considering.
I am not a "conservative" in the usual sense of that word. I am too conservative for anything but atheism and agnosticism though, and I'm a big fan of logic.
If you guys want to slap my ideas or reasoning with logic and reason and research and facts, I would consider it a great favor to myself and this country if you could do so. Thanks for being an opposition, and for any loyalty as fellow humans and Americans you can offer with that. I look forward to honing you in kind with my own logic.
If you want to make assumptions about me and slap me down as a person, well maybe you will get some laughs at least. But remove bias from my ideas and reasoning? I find that unlikely.
Thanks,
Some guy who uses the name "fine ahht" and none other on this site ;)
Posted by: fine ahht at February 15, 2009 2:19 AM
Don't try to say you use "facts", FINE AHHT, you've made plenty of personal attacks and off-topic posts. That's the standard LIBERAL tactic.
Posted by: KHarn at February 15, 2009 6:19 AM
Thanks Kharn for you input on that. I try my utmost to criticize ideas and statements and not criticize people or make personal attacks.
Please quote me or point out what you find questionable.
This entire site regularly engages in personal attack for the simple reason that it calls people moonbats. Why you would attribute that to liberals as 'standard' is hardly something I would find difficulty in disproving. I would probably look to VanHelsing of an example of a personal attack since they are plentiful.
I'll note that he has celebrated other's when they call for outright killing of people they appear to know little if anything about. That is more than a personal attack, that is saying that a guantanamo detainee who hardly ANYBODY knows much about due to classified status, deserves to be killed in a horrific manner. That trumps rhetorical personal attacks in my mind.
The post I'm referring to is the one where the banner says drop gitmo detainees on mecca from a plane. Horrific. What wasn't explained was WHY each and every detainee should be dropped. What wasn't explained is why would jihadists the world over would NOT use VanHelsing's post as a way to recruit people to attack us. Think about it, I'm begging you, try and see it from a different perspective. Jihadists can point to apparent hate like that and WIN HEARTS AND MINDS because people will not see the humor, the satire, the inside joke, or the basic facts.
Has anybody read about the woman who was arranging rapes to recruit females? Here is a link
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article5661466.ece
Fell free to use this one VanHelsing. I do not think I am alone here in horror at what this woman is accused of.
"Samira Ahmed Jassim, 51, is accused of recruiting more than 80 women to become human bombs, including 28 who actually carried out attacks.
She has apparently confessed to helping to organise the rape of young Iraqi women."
Posted by: fine ahht at February 15, 2009 7:08 PM
Hiram, you pretty much summed up my attitude toward trolls. Once you start banning people because you disagree with them, you're on the slippery slope toward an echo chamber. It's liberals who believe in ideological censorship, not conservatives. But moonbats who abuse the policy with excessive obnoxiousness will be shown the door. As for registration, I want to avoid putting readers through the hassle.
Posted by: Van Helsing at February 15, 2009 8:10 PM
Fine Ahht, you said: "and due to the nature of this site being under the control of someone named Van Helsing, I would not expect to have entirely free speech here"
What the hell does this mean? I can't find a lick of sense in the whole sentence. It's not true anyway, anybody can say anything here.
As for your post after that, do you really think Islamists need VH's picture RE dropping Gitmo guys out of planes to incite violence against anything non-Muslim? They don't need Van, they have Mohammed. He gave his orders 1500 years ago.
