Low Rent
Educrats don't find the school day long enough to cram children's heads full of all the degenerate moonbattery they want to impose, so they have extended their brainwashing campaign into extracurricular activities by having kids stage the play "Rent," a romp through the sewer that features homosexuals, drag queens, thieves, and AIDS. The Gray Hag approvingly reports:
The New York producers of "Rent," who receive some royalties from the school edition, said they hoped it would become a new, revenue-generating staple of the high school musical landscape, as well as a teaching tool that augments sex education and draws teenagers to acting and theater with a more modern production than, say, "The Music Man."
The student version throws a bone to parents by cleaning up some of the foul language, but keeps the "sex education" aspects intact.
Ron Martin, a theater teacher at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California, decided to put on the student version of the play "hoping that it would counter what he saw as creeping homophobia on this Orange County campus." Martin boasts,
In this instance, having an agenda as a teacher didn't give me pause. My job is to give my students life skills. Discrimination is wrong on all levels.
"Discrimination" is moonbattese for resisting corruption and depravity. But despite the "life skills" children might learn, grownups thankfully stepped in and canceled the production, leaving Martin to squeal that "homosexuality is not wrong!"
However, high school productions of this trash have gotten the green light at other high schools, even in normally civilized parts of the country like Texas.
Crows Jeffrey Seller, a "Rent" producer:
Like it or not, we're right smack in the middle of an enormous cultural shift right now.
Next up as the culture shifts: middle school productions of "The 120 Days of Sodom," by the Marquis de Sade.
On a tip from Burning Hot.

Ok, I like RENT. It is a well put together and thought out broadway musical. That said, I don't think it is appropriate for two high school boys to sing the words to 1000 kisses. Lots of things in that play are inappropriate for the setting. Especially since there is a tendency to force students to play certain parts based on their vocal talents.

If you are preparing to live in a sewer filled with people who act like Pelosi and Obama, if you have people like Barney Frank, Al Sharpton, and Katie Couric as role models, if drugs, sex and violence are a daily fare, then it makes sense to be educated like a sewer rat.
Only a child exposed to the most gross perversity, lies, and blasphemy can hope to thrive in the America the Dems hope to build. A decent moral person who believes in right, honor, and God will have no chance. Of course, they want the best chance for their children. So, they are pushing education that prepares them properly and they sneer at those who won't face reality.

""Official: Obama budget sees $1.75 trillion deficit
By MARTIN CRUTSINGER
AP Economics Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is sending Congress a "hard choices" budget that would boost taxes on the wealthy and curtail Medicare payments to insurance companies and hospitals to make way for a $634 billion down payment on universal health care.
Obama's first budget, which will top $3 trillion, predicts the deficit for this year will soar to a whopping $1.75 trillion, according to administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity before the public unveiling of the budget Thursday"
"The deficit is expected to remain around $1 trillion for the next two years before starting to decline to $533 billion in 2013, according to budget projections."

Ah, you guys... I will agree with you on much, but not on this one.
I don't like homophobia; I don't like ANY hate based on inherent properties. (Yes, sexuality is inherent. Did you debate with yourself over being straight? I think not.) This seems like a good way to meet that goal.

I don't like ANY hate based on inherent properties.
Ed Gein didn't chooose his "lifestyle." Neither did Jeffrey Dahmer nor John Wayne Gacy. So since their behavior was "inherent" I guess it is OK too?
And it's not hate. It's distaste, and amply justified. Check out www.zombietime.com - if you've got a strong stomach.

"Obama makes Bush look like spend thrift!"

ANOYMOUS and RENT;

Zombie time seems to be about protests. I'm well aware. I stopped going to protests once I realized I was the only one there who was actually concerned with giving out information and educating people, which I had foolishly thought was the point.
I'm just not seeing anything shocking or relevant there.
