Hopey Change Won't Help MSNBC's Ratings

The rise of the Moonbat Messiah is bad news for everyone — even the left-wing propagandists who put him in power. From the Western Center for Journalism:

You won't hear executives at MSNBC chanting "yes we can." The network that they cobbled together as a TV version of the left-wing screed Air America is in the ratings dumper. Advertising dollars that have never been easy are getting thinner. …
Keith Olbermann may need to go back to sports. MSNBC is in big trouble without Bush to bash. Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and even Chris Matthews have filled their shows with nothing but anti-Bush hysteria for the last year. Now that their punching bag-in-chief has left Washington, they are lost.

Chris Matthews famously yelped that he gets a thrill up his leg whenever Chairman Zero reads a teleprompter, and considers it his job to ensure the success of the new regime. But he clearly considered it his job to ensure the failure of the Bush Administration, which he mocked and insulted relentlessly.

Co-cockroach Keith Olbermann's Bush Derangement Syndrome is arguably severe enough to justify institutionalization. As an example, he tried to get viewers to believe that Pat Tillman was not killed by friendly fire, but murdered on W's behalf.

Another commentator who loves to hate Bush, liberal activist Rachel Maddow, said on her show following [Bush's] farewell address, "this is the start of the part where we don't have President Bush to kick around anymore… there can be no promise that we won't be compelled to try to keep on with the kicking around." She spoke with the caption, "goodbye and good riddance," situated behind her. She then proceeded to kick Bush around for ten minutes straight, blaming him for everything from Katrina, 9/11, the existence of Hamas, the recession, and "two worthless wars." She had practically filled her show with anti-Bush rants and guests. After January 20, she has struggled to find new material.

Call it the lunatic left's answer to "fair and balanced." The network is staffed by such childish and unprofessional moonbats that switching from their 24-hour version of the Two Minutes Hate to reporting factual news is out of the question.

Presumably they'll devote the next four years to nibbling cuticles from Chairman Zero's toes. When advertising drops off to nothing, they'll be well positioned for a bailout.

Make that "The Power of Hopey Change."

I was thinking of asking out this hot woman I met at work, then I found out she admires Rachel Mad Cow Maddow. Ack!!!!!!! Even worse she likes Michael Moore too. Double Ack!!!!! Glad I found out before it was too late.

The thrill Chris Matthews felt running up his leg was really Olberman's hand.

Posted by: MikeNC at February 19, 2009 10:13 AM

A fitting end to the people that help perpetrate the mockery of REAL news reporting. When The Olbermann's prissy fits are yelled at a hobo fighting for the scraps of a ham sandwich, we'll know we've won.

Anonymous 10:11 AM, you caught a break. If she admires Rachel Maddow, maybe she's trying to tell you something about more than just her politics.

Posted by: Jay Guevara at February 19, 2009 11:20 AM

Maybe, these harlots of news for their survival might be tempted to target OBAMA to up their ratings.

@ Anonymous 10:11 AM

Ask her out then throw her a grudge eff and call her Gov. Palin just before she gets to "the end" and leave......make sure you pee on her fuzzy toilet lid cover on your way out.

Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews should never be compared to real journalists. With Bush gone, they are pitch persons for Obama the same way the Sham Wow guy or the Menard's guy are pitch men. I can't imagine any reason to ever watch them except for a certain morbid curiosity as to how low humans can sink. It is kind of like watching two flies copulating on the window--a momentary diversion while thinking of other things and quickly forgotten.

Keith Olbermann can always stick to his Orbitz ad gig, at least I think he the guy in the commercials.

Posted by: Arthur at February 19, 2009 11:56 AM

When Olber-fucknuts started showing up on some of the NFL shows this year, I took it as a pretty good sign that he was paving the way for his return to sports when NBC pulled the plug on his incoherent rants due to low ratings. Then I changed the channel.

"co-cockroach"... heehee LOL.

Anonymous at first post--it's good you found out before wasting $$ over dinner or something. I could never go out with someone with polar opposites of what I believe, ala Matalin and Carville. It would just be the start of screaming matches and hatred, because I take this stuff very seriously.

Anyway, hope MSNBC goes bankrupt. Goodbye and good riddance. I do wonder what they're doing for material, now.

One thing I'm curious about, is why do liberal radio and tv have bad ratings? I mean, there are enough people over all to support them?

Serious question.

Karin, I think it's because they truly don't understand capitalism. Their operative assumption seems to be that they should get paid to do exactly what they wish and the the goal is to please themselves. Whereas a conservative understands that the product must be presented to a market segment willing to pay for it.

In a better world, this gang of traitors would be holding hands in front of a military court.

Wow, I'm sure NBC was pleased with this;

Never ever watched it but all i can say is GOOD RIDENCE

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at February 19, 2009 7:54 PM

So you've got Rachel MadCow berating Bush on his last day, with a sign behind her ugly, skinny head reading: "Good-bye and Good Riddance," or words to that effect.

So now MSLSD (to borrow from the Great One) is on its last legs, if they don't get an Obama Bailout, of course.

It's called irony, Rachel -- Payback's a real bitch, ain't it, girl?

The reason that openly liberal radio and TV have bad ratings is that there's no demand for more of it. We are beat over the head with it from virtually every form of media to the point where people, both left and right, are sick of it. Basic supply and demand. It's not that Rush is that great, although I will flatly state that I do agree with most of what he says, it's the scarcity of the message that drives people to listen in droves. That explains why there is such demand to advertise on his show.

Posted by: Mike B. at February 19, 2009 10:01 PM

WHY DID ANYONE EVER WATCH THESE PEOPLE? I'm not a big fan of Geroge Bush, or the Republican party as a whole right now, but treating him like the anti-christ was sickening to watch.

And having Olbermann's commie face being puked forth onto my tv screen every sunday night before football was too much for me. I couldn't watch the rest of those guys just because of him. seriously, a pinko and football don't mix.

You get the sham without the wow.

To Anonymous at 5:01: (Please pick a name, any name!) re bad ratings.

Even the moonbats at DemoUndgrnd have posed this to each other. The responses were honest: "It's not funny, it's not entertaining in the least." And they're right. It's very tiring to listen to spewing vitriol for any length of time, even if you agree with it. And, the left of course have zero sense of humor. One would come away from a listening session with one's soul a little crushed. Why not put on some music instead?

Also, I think Madcow was recycling material A LOT. That's a privilege you need to be very judicious with.

Simple -- they're too Democratic (capital D) elite.

Media types - especially MSNBC - are by and large of a political feather with the Democrat party's leadership. They move in the same circles, they think the same way, their target audience is the same. MSNBC etc. largely exist to sell to Democrats. There is very, very little difference in personality type between journalist and politician to begin with but this is especially true of the leftward side of the political aisle. You could replace any single Democratic congressman -- besides the few outliers like Lieberman -- with Keith Olbermann, and you would not notice the slightest difference. What they do has almost nothing to do with the concept of journalism as it has been understood for centuries. They are Democratic politicians who are not in politics -- at least notionally.

As such a few simple facts stand in the way of their success:

1. The Democratic political view is inherently unlikeable. There is not a single human being on earth who wants to be told over and over again that they, personally, are wrong, selfish and bad for being successful (to whatever degree) while some other people do not have universal health care or free houses, or whatever.

2. Precisely as with Democratic politicians, the views espoused by people like MSNBC "journalists" bear not the slightest resemblance to the reality of their own personal lives. For all MSNBC's support of environmental, health care, and other issues associated with the Democratic political platform, there is not a single one of the "faces" of MSNBC -- Maddow, Olberman, et al -- who does not enjoy wealth, healthcare, living conditions, and every other aspect of our lives that they condemn as extravagant, on a scale that is not infinitely more extravagant than any of us could conceive ever achieving.

Olberman, for instance, last year alone earned will probably earn in the next 150 years.

3. MSNBC's target audience, as stated, are Democrats. Unforunately for them the Democrat voting demographic extends from relatively hard left to relatively centrist whereas they occupy a small niche in the middle of those two points. Conservatives, Republicans and moderate libertarians are generally far less widely dispersed in terms of opinion on economic and other political issues whereas the broad umbrella of Democrats and leftists are far more divergent on even the smallest of issues (this is what leftists normally mistake for a positive thing as they think it demonstrates intelligence and diversity to never be able to agree with anyone else about anything.) Thus a large proportion of the target audience of institutions like MSNBC will either see them as too far right/centrist, or too far left, and as such disagree with them.

Last, and most important of all, the crucial difference between MSNBC journalists, and Democratic politicians, given the myriad ways in which they are almost identical to each other as listed above:

It takes a lot of effort to get someone that you don't like voted out of office -- and you have to be sure that their potential replacement is not someone you will dislike even more.

On the other hand: it's real simple to turn off the television.

MSNBC doesn't report news, so why the hell are they even in business. Can I say General Electric=Green Global Warming Crap=Bailout=Obama. What a joke these people are, they're nothing but HATE!
