Celebrating Multicultural Diversity in Buffalo
In case you blinked and missed the MSM's coverage of this latest example of festive multicultural diversity:
Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder. …
Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.
Aasiya had filed for divorce, so from the Mohammedan point of view, she probably had it coming. Move along, nothing to see here.

Please, can everyone take the time to write to the Public Editor at the New York Times and ask why the regional nor the national desks have reported this story? After all, it represents a wonderful "teaching moment" for Times' readers. The Times can put it all in its proper cultural context, and perhaps show beheading in a more positive light. After all it comes out of a venerable and ancient tradition. Perhaps Mr. Pelosi can learn something. I am sure even in SF they read the NY Times. Here is the Pubic Editors address: public@nytimes.com

In New York second degree murder is the same as first degee muder (premeditated murder). First degree murder is for cop killers, prison guard murders or other murders that would eligible for capital punishment. Could you imagine the MSM coverage if this guy was the founder of an evangelical TV network?

Likewise the Google News search [+("Kentucky" OR "Trigg") +dunlap +murder] Yields 11 hits. Kevin Dunlap is accused of raping a woman and killing her 3 children in KY, then setting fire to her home to cover it up. Both Hassan & Duncan crimes are heinous acts. One has more reports. No points for Islamo-MSM conspiracy.

Fat_Stanley, the hits you got are from bloggers writing about how the MSM has ignored the beheading. The story did not even make it into the New York Times regional section. The Dunlap story will become a 48s Mystery of Dateline hour long show (I promise you that; I have inside info). The beheading will never be heard from again - and it is a significant story.
