California School Spends Fortune Teaching Spanish to Mexicans

A middle school in California is heeding Chairman Zero's call to spend ourselves into national bankruptcy by wasting $10,000 per year to teach Advanced Placement Spanish to colonists who already speak it as their native language.

Teaching kids something they already know improves their self-esteem. Bleats Lemon Grove School District Superintendent Ernie Anastos:

Our goal is basically to provide kids with an opportunity to excel and to feel really satisfied about doing the higher level work.

Another benefit is it pads their grade point averages, making it easier for Hispanics to edge out Gringos for university slots, since openly discriminating against Caucasians is supposed to be off limits in California colleges.

They would teach the kids English, but that might be difficult, subjecting sensitive students to frustration. Besides, there apparently won't be much use for English in the Mexifornia of the future.

On a tip from V the K.

Is there any way California can be expelled from the union? Can we build a wall around it?

It's not 10K per student. Check the article and correct that, please.

Not really a surprise. "Mexican" Spanish is not formal Spanish, which is even further from the "spanglish" spoken by much of the Hisp/latino community.
Plus, it's 10K/class.

When do they start Ebonics classes in Detroit? The school system here (Orlando) is $100mil short on it's budget for next year; however, they are spending $90mil on a new school (replacing an old one) in the 95% black/hispanic 'ghetto' because a new school will recieve a better grading. Of course the students will still be just as uneducated, but the grading will be better.

Yes, but they are probably from the lower classes, otherwise why would they come here for low paying jobs, so they must need to learn to "speak it right."

High schools teach Castilian Spanish, not Mexican Spanish. In high school in California decades ago we used to laugh our asses off when Mexicans would flunk Spanish, but actually there was a good reason for it.

Good for your family, NANCZ!

If CA wanted to secede from the Union I don't think very many people would object.

Nor if it fell into the ocean due to a catastrophic quake.

Just sayin'...
