Since the Supreme Court ruling on gun ownership in D.C., the liberals are taking a new tact to force law abiding citizens to just give up on firearm ownership.

The libs realize that they can not, at this time, again - AT THIS TIME BUT SOON - force law abiding citizens to surrender firearms. That is the next step, later, after they make laws that totally expose who owns what firearms (of course the criminals won't comply, but that does not bother them since that is their voter base anyway).

11 states are currently going after forcing ammunition manuf to put serial numbers on every round, and force background checks for everyone who buys ammo. Re-loading will become illegal. The govt will know who you are and what types of caliber weapons you own.

Coupled with HR45 (above post) the govt will know what you own and make you a criminal if you do not obey by the deadlines imposed for "registering" yourself and your firearms under its provisions.

The next step will be for them to find you criminally at fault and prosecute you and take your firearms for any infraction.

What I, and most law abiding citizens fear, is after they have the political ability, they will start openly consficating weapons from law abiding US Citizens.

Oh yes, I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

When and if the killing starts, guns won't matter. There are gasoline, glass, clubs, rocks, and chemicals and poisons. There are wire, electricity, gas, knives,and fire. There are hands and feet and any number of sharp and blunt objects. To kill one may need to get close enough and not give a damn about ones personal future or the consequences and one would sure have a wide selection of choices.

After a tyrant has destroyed completely the quality of life of freedom loving people, to be safe the tyrant or a despot can never get within 10 feet of one of his victims or let them know where he lives or who his family is or where they are. He can never be alone or unguarded. He can never leave his family, his friends, his pets, or his property unguarded.

Once they understand this basic truth and the consequences of total collapse, taking guns from people might not be quite as important to those who have some secondary purpose.

This is not a future I wish for or advocate. It is merely the future I forsee. I will not participate--but if alive I will observe.

Does not matter how old the video is - the damage is done. The UK and Europe have chosen the socialist hell they are degrading to.

As for the talk of IEDs above (previous post), there is a whole generation of patriots coming home from two combat zones who are well versed in the deployment and use of them. That is something the Liberal Democratic Socialists are not prepared to deal with, or have even considered.

Amen, TED... amen. I'm afraid of the few of us who will stand when the time comes. The Left has done such a damn fine job brainwashing the young. They find it easier to just voluntarily place their heads on the chopping block these days.

I mentioned to one of my proud progressive friends that BHO was voted 'Gun Salesman of the Year', and he got a good chuckle out of those "ignorant, paranoid, right-wing, hillbillies" who just aren't sophisticated enough to see that any laws that The One might impose are simply for our own good. He says that there is really nothing in O's record that shows he would ever diminish our 2nd Amendment rights -- much. In fact, since, as he says, the Constitution is a living document, it's high time to impose some necessary changes to gun ownership from on-high (never mind the amendment process).

I posted elsewhere that in this conservation he lectured several people about how the 2nd Amendment is outdated, and that if we are allowed any guns at all they should be flintlocks and muzzle loaders like the Founders intended -- and if the gov't is stupid enough to allow anything like a modern firearm, every shell casing should be serial numbered and we should be accountable to the gov't for every shot fired.

Like most sanctimonious, smug, condescending progressives, he has Terminal Europe Envy and gets most of his ideas from the highly evolved societies of Europe. He then went on to preach about how conservative ideals are threatening our liberties.

He says that the concept of a citizen militia is preposterous in this day and age because we could never fight a military that has superior arms, and unless we are all allowed to be as equally armed as the military there is no use in having any guns at all. Beyond limited use for hunting, nobody has any need for a firearm in modern America. Those who don't agree are dismissed as backward hicks who need to be(re)educated so they understand what real progress is all about.

Funny thing is, he is a nice guy and we have lots in common except for everything political. The disturbing thing is that he is not a naive college kid. He's 50 and he is a public school teacher. But we can be sure his agenda never seeps into his lesson plans, don't you think?

Trying to explain the things listed in TED's great post is futile to these people because the mind of a progressive is resistant to maturity, and they are unable to alter their skewed view of reality.

Secondly, I know too many of the same type of liberals. Enough said on that.

Thirdly, I know too many conserative law abiding citizens who own weapons (guns to the layman) who have their heads firmly planted in the soil, and pay no attention to what is really going on.

Consider them to be the 6% of voters who did not turn out to ensure that the O would not win.

They are fat dumb and happy and will happily recite that "I'll shoot them before they take this gun," or "so what if congress introduced HR-45, they can't take away my rights to own a gun." You get the point.

What all of my very nice but totally ignorant conserative friends will not face is that they are not going to take the guns away, at first. Just the right to do anything with it legally and then squeeze harder so that any normal law abiding citizen will find it too hard to comply, and will just quit and surrender.

Blame your conserative friends for allowing this to happen. They are just as much a sheeple as the young who are being indoctrinated in schools.

The ironies in the US are interesting. The closer Obama got to the White House, the greater firearms purchases rose. Now gun sales are through the roof because we have leaders who are seen as a threat to our rights. Anti-gun gov't, more guns in society.

The gun industry is one of the few industries that is booming in America. The real stimulus in the economy comes in the form of an industry that the new gov't abhors.

If conservative views hold (and they should), crime rates should drop with a well-armed citizenry, many of whom are first-time gun owners. In a few years statistics should reflect dropping crime rates and the present gov't will get the credit. The credit will be designed to show that the reason for the drop is due to the weapons legislation they've imposed, and will have nothing to do with a better armed populace, furthering the idea that weapon ownership is unnecessary with 'intelligent' legislation.

Shooting accidents (which will likely rise as well) and random gun violence will be shown as a reason for more legislation because so many inept people overreacted to Obama's ascendancy, buying guns that they clearly cannot handle and have no business owning.

Take the advice of the people in this video and realize that politicians will always refuse to face the facts, and the system is on the side of the criminal, not on the side of the law-abiding citizen.
