Another Dem for Political Censorship of Radio
Democrat National Convention delegate Terrel Shepherd, evidently too dumb to find NPR on his radio dial, explains why the Unfairness Doctrine should be used to impose Obamunist propaganda on commercial radio stations:
In recent years it has gotten to where it is almost unsafe for me to drive while listening to all of those radical conservative hate spewers all over the dial.
I sometimes find myself pressing on the gas a little harder, gripping the wheel a little tighter, and driving more on offense than on defense while trying to listen to those shows. I can literally feel my heart rate and blood pressure elevate as "The Great American," Rush, "The Great One," Prager, Medved, Huiit [sic], Ingraham, Savage are on.…
It is literally sickening sometimes to listen to. They are all gaseous balls of hate and rage whose only purpose in life is to incite hate, rage and not-so-covert racism with their over-the-top rhetoric. I don't want them silenced because I feel that everyone should be able to express their opinions. I just want to hear an opposing view, and there are none.
So it's the "gaseous balls of hate and rage" whose rhetoric is over the top?
By controlling virtually all print and television media, the liberal elite has created a market for conservative opinion on the radio. But liberals have never been friends of free markets. Rather than listen to NPR's taxpayer-supported moonbattery, they want the channels that broadcast Rush et al. to be coerced into broadcasting lefty kooks who have no market. Phony liberal assertions that they don't want to silence conservatives notwithstanding, the result would be to force radio stations to carry nonpolitical programming — except left-wing NPR, which doesn't have to worry about whether anyone is listening.
Like all modern liberals, this guy can be scary:
I'm ready to take a page from the Obama playbook and be the change I've been waiting for. I know that there are people out there who feel the same as I do about this and just need to be ignited. Just like the Obama campaign was a grass root effort, this can be too. I'm sure this cause is on the administration's agenda…
Kind of reminds you of Peggy Joseph, the ethnically correct Obamunist who was sure she'd never have to pay for gasoline or housing again once The Anointed One had ascended.
If the Founding Fathers could have granted us the right of freedom of speech for all time, they would have. But rights can't be granted in perpetuity. Each generation has to earn them. Those we don't earn will be taken away by thugs like Terrel Shepherd.

On a tip from Byron.

The thing that's really disturbing about this, is that the Left continually labels any kind of criticism or sarchasm directed at their poltical agenda as "hate speech."
They do this, while simultaneously working to enact legislation against "hate speech."
I have a feeling that this kind of fascist effort will not stop with talk radio.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Once they take away our freedom of speech there is only one other way to make our voices heard.

The Founding Fathers didn't grant us any rights. They wrote a constitution that guarantees and protects rights GRANTED BY OUR CREATOR. They ARE granted in perpetuity and they don't have to be earned. They are our birthright.
The left wants to make it impossible to exercise our GOD GIVEN rights but they can't take them away.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, THAT THEY ARE ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN UNALIENABLE RIGHTS..."
VH, you're making the same mistake as the leftists. Your last paragraph infers a belief in the supremacy of Man and that our system of government is a democracy with a living Constitution.
We have to be ever vigilant against thugs who want to impose an authoritarian regime. Don't give them the intellectual and moral high ground by accepting their dogma.
You're right that every generation has to renew the fight for freedom. We have to make sure we leave them a good understanding of its foundation.

The only way that the Democrats will be able to achieve a long-term majority is by silencing the opposition. Rush and the rest of talk radio are the most vocal opposition that we have. Once they get talk radio, you can be sure they'll go after the blogosphere.

He must have a radio from the twilight zone, since mine has stations that just play music, or are non-political talk based radio. Liberals did have their own Radio - called "Air America" no one was interested so it shutdown. The outrage of course is not only will Conservative (or profitable) air-time be stifled - but Radio stations will also be forced to hire people (opposing view) they would never have hired and potentially lose advert revenue as people tune out.
Liberals love the "Right to choose" so they should have no problem that overwhelmingly people do not want to listen to their venom on the air-waves.

The best way to stop this would be to make the air-waves private property, as they should be.

Homeslice can't find the knobs on his car radio.

This guy's presidential candidate won an election, and two weeks into the messiah's reign of terror, he's full of rage towards civilians with a different viewpoint. Moonbats never change their paranoid, opressive, nazi-like behavior. God Bless America.

Apparently people like him haven't discovered the concept of the channel selector.

I guess the poor fellow has enough trouble with the task at hand, like paying attention to the road, traffic and conditions while driving. Simple fix, if you don't like it change the station or turn the bloody thing off.

Kevin, that's a great idea. Only problem is the private sector is slowly disappearing. The banks, the auto industry, and soon health care, the private sector is soon to be a thing of the past.

NPR=National Pinhead Radio, National Propoganda Radio, National Palestinian Radio, National Pathetic Radio, oh I could go on but I won't. Did you ever notice that on a good-old analog radio dial, the frequencies set aside for NPR are located on the far LEFT portion of the dial?

Liberals have their nerve! They have taken over TV & Printed news everywhere. Radio is all we have left and now they want to take that to. These people are sickening!
