Starbucks Climbs Aboard Obamania Bandwagon

Get a bucket in position and then see how many references to the Anointed One you can find in this Starbucks pitch to moonbats' misguided self-righteousness:

As if I needed another reason to favor Dunkin' Donuts.

I could only endure 30 secs. of it before hitting stop. Yuck!

i lasted a little longer than sage.

if my children buy one more coffee from starbucks, you will find me in prison for maiming them!

During the Roosevelt Depression, many rescue missions opened offering free soup, provided that the customer listened to a sermon beforehand. Starbuck's is apparently doing the same thing, except you still have to pay exorbitant prices for the coffee and dried out biscotti.

"get a bucket in postion.." ROFLMAO.

Posted by: Pete at January 24, 2009 8:28 AM

How long before moonbats get OBAMAS ugly pus face on MOUNT RUSHMORE? It would be a insult to those already on there

Posted by: Spurwing Plover at January 24, 2009 8:29 AM

On a more serious note, aside from the obvious references of "Hope" and "Change", there are some subliminal ones, maybe unintended, I don't know. 1:47 shows and extended hand with a star on the cuff. Generally that signifies the President.

Enough of this nonsense. I have now made a pledge to not buy Starbucks. I'll make coffee at home instead.

Posted by: Pete at January 24, 2009 8:34 AM

What? No unicorns?

Posted by: Henry at January 24, 2009 8:41 AM

Starbucks makes the worst coffee on the planet. I don't understand why anyone drinks it.

Well, if they want us to help out, the first thing that they could do is pony up some dough to the school that the founder and CEO went to. It's out in the middle of BFE.

Posted by: josh at January 24, 2009 9:20 AM

Oh, not Peter Max art again! And to rap music, no less. Sounds like Starbucks is trying to widen their demographic and boost their flagging sales by pandering to the left. Glad I don't watch TV anymore.

Posted by: Nancy at January 24, 2009 9:40 AM

Nancy, you're comment is spot on. The ignorance and sheeple on the left are now accompanied by unapologetic corporate marketers.. Pepsi and Starbucks first, more to come for sure.

Starbucks... The new dating service for the GLBT.

Oh course THIS is all Bush's fault...

SEATTLE - Citing "a reliable, local source," a Seattle financial brokerage is predicting further layoffs at Starbucks Corp.

Diane Daggatt, a managing director at McAdams Wright Ragen, wrote in a note to clients, "Locally, we're hearing another big round of layoffs is coming at SBUX. Perhaps 1,000 or one-third of SBUX's headquarters may be cut as well as some district managers and field employees, but not baristas."

She said Friday the cuts may come as early as next week, or in February. In an interview, Daggatt declined to further identify her source.

Starbucks later issued a statement declining to comment on the report. The statement said:

"We cannot, as a public company, comment on any details about our business in advance of our earnings release next week, and we do not comment on rumor and speculation."

The brokerage's report about possible layoffs comes on the same day as an announcement that Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz will not receive a bonus this year - for the second year in a row.

The cuts would be the latest in a series of layoffs and downsizings at the Seattle-based chain since last year.

Seattle-based Starbucks laid off more than 1,000 workers in 2008. In November, it decided to eliminate 135 more jobs, including 85 in Kent and Seattle.

The company also closed about 600 stores in the United States, including 19 in Washington state.

Holy sweet mother of Jesus, is this an ad for Starbucks or The Messiah? DUNKIN DONUTS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: mEEstAer joe at January 24, 2009 11:00 AM

Five hours, 1.45 pay? Yes, that is what a grande of regular coffee costs in my area. I can get a venti latte for 3.75. Are they promoting lowering the minimum wage to twenty-nine cents an hour? If that is the case, I am ALL for that. I am still not going to Starbucks to volunteer my time, though.

Posted by: Two Dogs at January 24, 2009 11:13 AM

I'm surprised they used the terms "woman" and "man" in the song - aren't those just oppressive gender labels to the left?

Posted by: PabloD at January 24, 2009 11:15 AM

The older gentleman wisely drinking a Dunkin Donuts coffee bills himself as the 'Kid from Brooklyn'. He has a number of hilarious but extremely profane short videos on YouTube.
I'm not shilling for him and I don't even know him from Adam, but if he's a paisano from Brooklyn, well what can I say?
See the videos about Starbucks and Batday!

Posted by: Shooter1001 at January 24, 2009 11:41 AM

I am sorry but Dunkin donuts coffee is crap. The same with Starbucks. Both taste like 10w30 motor oil. Make your own and drive a leftist business under.

Posted by: I.P. at January 24, 2009 11:58 AM

Tax Starbucks out of existence. Or are they also in line for a bailout?

Posted by: Anonymous at January 24, 2009 12:13 PM

notice near the end the arrows are going to the right, the song cue's up lets go the right way, as they all swing hard left...

its chock full of clever things

and part of it is the clever adoption of organization names where you cant tell whether NOW means now, or N.O.W.

this always backfires...
they seize power, which is all they are actually good at, then like vampires who have taken over mankind, destroy it. parasites are incomplete and by definition take advantage of systems, they cant actually run them. they are cargo cult, image withotu substance, sociopathic, and see the world in power principals, with nothing but victims and predators. they are cunning the good are intelligent, there is a difference. they are made to look or appear whole, and be more efficient because they rely on others to supply them. thats what parasites do, and they are not symbionts. they cause a tragedy of the commons among the productive people as they all attempt to take something till there is less than nothing to give. and since they are incomplete they dont run on pricipals, but in doing something that appears to be the same and then run interference for it. its missing empirical substance. if they could do it with that, then they wouldnt be parasites!!!

This makes me glad that the Islamofascist Looted and trashed three Starbucks in Londonstan during the Israeli assault on Gaza. I don’t drink their over priced coffee anymore.

Posted by: T.H. at January 24, 2009 12:56 PM

So they have money to produce this crap, but need to lay 1,000 more employees.

CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!!!

Posted by: John Drake at January 24, 2009 1:31 PM

I couldn't decide on what was more annoying; the lame artwork, the cheesy rap song or the numerous liberal platitudes.

Posted by: cbischof at January 24, 2009 2:02 PM

My comment should read "need to lay OFF 1,000 more employees."

I was probably thinking of a cute barista when I typed that.

Posted by: John Drake at January 24, 2009 2:27 PM

I quit going to Starsucks when they started printing anti-christian things on their cups. Now I see they're hurting financially, laying off thousands and complaining that McDonalds is trying to steal their business, as if they have some exclusive right to it. Good riddance.

Posted by: rick at January 24, 2009 2:28 PM

As has been pointed out, untold numbers of people quit patronizing Starsucks when they began printing liberal ideology on their cups. I didn't visit their stores much to begin with, but the last time (and I do mean last) I bought coffee there my cup was emblazoned with a direct insult to myself and my ideology.

I don’t buy ice cream with political insults either.

Socialists make poor entrepreneurs and business people. They don’t understand that they cannot insult their customers. (That’s why most of them work for the government.) It’s very much like Obama’s snobbery. Have you noticed how he quit trying to hide it? It seems like every-other picture I see of the worthless bastard he’s looking down his nose at his subjects – of which I am not one. It’s the pissants who elected him he’s dissing.

Yet another example of a moonbat MINDLESSLY following his leaders' call to hate.

Posted by: KHarn at January 24, 2009 5:57 PM

What is a moonbat anyway? It's really hard for me to tell because every time someone posts an example of moonbatness, the next poster pretty much appears to to fit the aformentioned example his or herself ...all while they are posting yet another infantile rant about moonbatness, which then the next poster appears to fully embody. Is this a game? I guess I don't understand this site.

I believe it's Moron in your case... but then, aren't you the one who fantasizes about multiple copulations on your web site?

Posted by: Fez at January 24, 2009 8:15 PM

I already spend about 6 hours a month in meetings for my volunteer endeavors, not to mention the other 10-100 hours a month depending on the season.

I suppose that they want to volunteer for their touchy-feely left-wing save-the-planet BS.

Posted by: Smokey Behr at January 24, 2009 8:40 PM

LOL Starbucks just closed 600 stores in 2008.

When are people going to learn that being a moonbat just doesn't pay int he end?

:-) LOL!

Posted by: Jimbo at January 24, 2009 8:57 PM

Somehow I doubt this will appease the jihadis and dhimmis detroying Starbucks outlets in the name of 'peace' for Gaza.

Posted by: BURNING HOT at January 24, 2009 9:08 PM

I'm actually sad, now to think of it, of all of the Starbucks locations closing.

This is going to drive all of the self important leftwing hippie smelling a**holes into "common" locations where normal Americans will have to put up with them.

Of course, I can only hope that the truely arrogant slice of the Leftoid freaks will be too emotionally depressed to step foot into something as common as a DD.

The post by artfldgr at January 24, 2009 12:50 is worth reading twice.
Obama is the emperor with no clothes, who through co-opting the media was able to maintain a certain image in the public eye and thereby win the election.
He needs to maintain 100% control of the media to keep the mirage of Obamessiah in place.
Can he now handle the pressure of constant public scutiny?
I doubt it, considering he has been under very little scrutiny up to this point, working largely in the background and at a "community organization" level.
That is why Obama must move soon to exert totalitarian control, or lose it all.
God help those who speak the truth about this usurper Obama, in the near future.

Say what you will about Starubucks, it got all the nosering-wearing, goth-skateboard-hip hop-unshowered types off the streets and into one controlled area where, instead of blowing pot smoke in peoples' faces and singing Age of Aquarius or whatever the F they do, they conformed to corporate nicities by sipping coffee, chattering on their cell phones to other hippies, and generally being tolerable if somewhat pungent nuissances. Now that it turns out that paying $4 for a cup o java in the middle of a global financial meltdown is not actually a viable business model, they're going to go out and reinfest our neighborhoods.

That's right, Liberals; the clinched-fist salute is from the communist party, the black radicals stole it just as the civil-rights marchers stole "We Shall Overcome" from the unions.
