Robert Redford Calls for Less Energy, More Government-Funded Artsy Degeneracy
The new hyper–race-based politics that ushered in the Moonbat Messiah appears to cut both ways, as limousine leftist ecowarrior Robert Redford learned when activists gathered in front of a Salt Lake City theater on the eve of his Sundance Film Festival to protest the effects his environmentalist posturing have on the poor:
The protesters, led by the Congress of Racial Equality's national spokesman Niger Innis … complained that the filmmaker's anti-drilling stance could lead to higher energy prices for inner-city residents, forcing them to accept a lower standard of living.
The clergymen prayed for Redford "to see the light" and linked his environmental activism with racism.
Redford has denounced extracting the resources we need to heat our homes as "morally criminal," and has applied his fame and fortune to preventing it from happening, particularly in Utah, where massive reserves are going to waste thanks to red tape generated by antihuman envirokooks.
Another righteous cause Redford boosts is coercive public financing for the often twisted and depraved films featured by his moonbatty Sundance:
Redford quickly got political and had harsh words for the National Endowment for the Arts, saying that he thought it needed more financial support from the federal government and that he hoped new leadership in Washington D.C. would accomplish that.
That's what the economy needs: a ban on natural gas extraction and a bailout for degenerate art films. Everything is bound to improve, now that people on Redford's wavelength are taking total control of the federal leviathan.

Who in creation cares what Robert Redford has to say about anything?

It is interesting that the God given gift of being able to read lines someone else wrote, to look nice with a handsome face and well formed body and to have a convincing voice leads to arrogance. Somehow with those gifts comes a feeling that inspite of practically no education, no experience running a business and no special gifts of intellect, one has the responsibility to use the fame and money to convince others of some hairbrained idea or another.
It is true that there can come an occasional person with those gifts who has in addition the gifts of insight and wisdom. Reagan was such a recipient of those additional gifts. Redford is not!

You're welcome, Fez.

Since Reagan was such a good actor... how do you know he wasn't just reading someone else's lines... which he was of course. ....though he did have his simplistic little belief system.
What is it with so many americans voting for people with mediocre minds... look where it's gotten us to this time... though Reagan (or the machine behind him) may be partly to blame for his stirring up anti regulation fever in the first place.
It's going to be nice having an intelligent president again... I don't like those gut-brain ones.

Why do you hate poor people?
VAN, I think it's Harris.

Yes, you liberals are SO intelligent and us conservatives are like retarded monkeys compared to you. Please, show us the way! Enlighten us with your liberal arts education! Let us bask in your infinite wisdom. May we give up our red meat and nice clothes to eat tofu and wear Che t-shirts. Oh Obama, hallowed be thy name.

KHarn, It's Fez. I can tell by the IP address.
Posted by: Van Helsing at January 17, 2009 12:17 PM
Yet again, as always -- Liberals' policies harm the poor most of all. But all of us must suffer (most especially the poor and "middle" classes) if we're to have "skin in the game."
I anticipate a Counter Moonbat Revolution (if there's anyone still left unfrozen by the end of this "global warming" winter) within two years of the Moonbat Messiah's assumption/coronation next Tuesday -- God help us all until that time comes.

"Morally criminal" is advocating the use of the coercive force of the government to make everyone else live the way you think they ought to live as Redford is doing.

WHO?!?!?! Mr. 57 states?
Also, it seems odd that the party who constantly excuses retarded, anti social/degenerative behavior, would simultaneously claim to be the party of high intelligence. Even excluding the uneducated blacks, and guilt ridden white liberals, who operate in the 6th grade "conflict resolution" state of idiocy their entire lives, democrats are still lagging behind independents and republicans.. I'm confident of that. for proof go to www.howobamagotelected.com

This fucking idiot lives in Utah. That's like Michael Savage living in San Fran. I never quite understand why you would live somewhere that endorses a culture you clearly despise... Although in Savage's case, he might be just looking for sick inspiration.

I do think it is very interesting, this inherent conflict between slow-growth environmentalism versus the needs of the poor (and middle class) for a growing, robust economy. No one's ever had to really deal with that before, because modern hysterical environmentalism mostly got going with the economic boom. Affluent times provide the idle boredom needed for things like global warming hoaxes to take root. With the recession, the fault lines between advocates for the poor and the environmentokooks is going to come to the surface. It should be loads of fun to see how Obama deals with the legitimate needs of struggling poor/middle class people to have a functioning economy, versus the self-righteous (mostly white) upper middle class obsession with saving every whale, seal, tree, and fighting the imaginary monster of global warming.
Speaking of which, it's been 14 degrees in Washington DC the last couple of days. I wonder if this almost unimaginably cold weather is having any impact on the globwarm delusional crowd.

Someone needs to write about the carbon foot print of a movie production, and environmental impact of Hollywood.
That would end this eco-madness instantly.

More from that babbling stupid eco-freak robert REDford hasnt had a real hit movie in years and he is still a enviromental hypotcrit BOYCOTT ROBERT REDFORD

Forest: "who's the old lesbian?" haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. This guy used to be one of the most handsome men in America. Now look him, that crazy moonbat hair and lefty unisex eyeglasses. Moonbattery makes you ugly, look at all the hideous lefty chicks.
The left is made up of thousands of narrow special interests which eventually will conflict with each other and cause implosion. This article is one example. Another is Prop 8 vs. black people. There will be countless emerging in the coming days.
