Moonbats Erase Classic Fairy Tales

Fairy tales that have been around for centuries are falling victim to the liberal campaign to destroy Western Civilization by twisting or obliterating our cultural memory, to judge from a British poll:

One in four mothers has abandoned the likes of Cinderella and Rapunzel in favour of The Gruffalo or The Very Hungry Caterpillar, written in 1969 by Eric Carle.
One in ten parents even said Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs should be re-titled — because 'the dwarf reference is not PC'.
Rapunzel is considered 'too dark' and Cinderella outdated, because she is forced to do the housework.

Not to worry, though — we have Captain Planet to fill the void.

Snow White is beset by moonbats.

OK, call it "Snow White and the Seven Tom Cruises."

Nanny Pelosi and the Seven Dennis Kucinichs

If they thought the modern tale of Rapunzel is too dark they should see the original. Or any of the Grimm's Fairy Tales as they were originally written, for that matter.

Sleeping beauty? in the original, while she was asleep, "Prince Charming" broke into the castle and raped her. She was woken up when the inevitable result of this union was born and sucked the thorn from her thumb as it tried to suckle.

Kids used to read this. The mothers behind this are a bunch of wusses and I'd love to see how they react to the reams of teen lit depicting grotesque monsters, murder mayhem and madness their kids will be bringing home in a few years.

Yeah, "the seven Dennis Kucinichs" is funnier. Amazing that he didn't get a cabinet post.

You're right, Archonix. I own a collection of the original Grimm's. Fierce stuff! In Cinderella, one of the stepsisters cuts her own foot in half in order to cram it into the glass slipper. The trail of blood gives her away. In another one, some guy cuts the head off a kid, and sews it back on to conceal his crime. (Everybody just thought the kid was the quiet type).

Kids are naturally macabre. They've loved this stuff forever. Sissy Britain.

Q: What do you tell a girl with 2 black eyes?

A: Nothing. You already told her twice!

Haaahaaaaahaaahaa

Poor Snow White. She survived the Jungists who tried to say it was all about female sexual frustrations. Now they want to change the title as to not offend people who probably don't have a problem with it at all.

To Ted Baxter: What is the point of this post? I don't like all the whiny, pathetic, liberal crap. However, I do have a problem with what you are saying here. Let's hope this is sarcasm. And, even if it is, it's offensive.

Besides, that joke is very old. Years ago, a boyfriend of mine years ago told me that same stupid joke. That was the very day he became my ex-boyfriend.

As two people who suffer from Dwarfism, we are highly offended that we are once again being banned to the four corners in the name of political correctness. Once, we enjoyed lofty stature from our work in movies and in television commercials. Our grandparents were Munchins for gawd sake! Now we are reduced to delivering singing telegrams and fighting over who gets to play the elf at the mall this year. PC assholes, who asked you anyway?! May you give/get a yeast infection.

I'd have to agree with the previous poster's comments that they don't even know scary until they've seen the original versions.
Also, how is it that they'd find Rapunzel too scary, rather than say, Hansel & Gretel (In which the evil witch takes the kids prisoner because she wants to try and eat them).
At Universal Studios' most recent Halloween Horror Nights, they brought back one of their most popular haunted houses from the past: Scary Tales (Each of the 10 or so rooms in the house deals with a certain fairy tale story or character in a really scary, gruesome or twisted manner). I went through it several times, and it was scary as hell, easily the best haunted house that year. It just goes to show how genuinely frightening some of those stories can be with certain interpretations. The reasons those moms gave for disapproving of the stories, though, were a total crock.
If I have children of my own some day, I wouldn't have a problem with them hearing classic fairy tales (As long as, if they're very young, it's the happier versions of them).

Snow White and the Seven Dirty, Slimy FREAKS!

These people who want these classic tales banned or rewritten in newspeak forget that the reason these stories were passed down and survive to this day is because they usually have an underlying theme or life lesson for the children, that is easy for them to remember. I still remember my father telling me the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. I got the point. Norms and values will only degrade and degenerate even more if these too are banned from history and/or dialogue.

And as far as the original Grimm's go, yes, they were a bit "dark", but that helped to drive the moral home in a manner that children may have been frightened by, but in a good way. They would not soon forget what they were warned against.

Murff, "Moral" is a dirty word these days.

Your right Andrea,

Its hard enough trying to convince my feminist friends that conservative guys (who usually want to get married commit themselves to a woman) respect women more than liberal guys (who usually want to just have one night stands and hope for an abortion if the girl gets pregnant). We don't need psuedo-conservatives joking about violence against women.

A: Do the dishes, if you know what's best for you!

Andrea, did a boyfriend tell you that one too which, in turn, made him another ex-boyfriend?

Apologies to Ted Baxter if he's not a troll: I had to ban his IP to put an end to the obnoxious jokes.
