Moonbat Messiah Named Gun Salesman of the Year
For once, the Moonbat Messiah has been rewarded not for being part African or for having a name like a terrorist, but for an actual beneficial effect he has produced: a rise in gun ownership among the American public. Outdoor Wire has named him Gun Salesman of the Year.
In recognition of the unprecedented demand for firearms by nervous consumers, The Outdoor Wire, the nation's largest daily electronic news service for the outdoor industry, has named President-elect Barack Obama its "Gun Salesman of the Year". With the selection, Outdoor Wire publisher Jim Shepherd says it is time the firearms industry recognizes the fact that without President-elect Obama's frightening consumers into action, the firearms industry might be suffering the same sort of business slumps that have befallen the automotive and housing industries.
"It's credit where credit is due," says Shepherd, "Mr. Obama has consistently voted against individual rights to firearms, appointed a re-tread Clinton administration full of gun banners, and made it plain to anti-gun groups that despite what he might say to the contrary, he's on their side." That history, along with the unquestioned support of anti-gun organizations, Shepherd says, has spooked consumers into a buying frenzy for firearms that could be outlawed in another Assault Weapons Ban. …
Since the November Presidential election, firearms sales have been at unprecedented levels. For December 2008 the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) recorded a twenty-four percent increase in background checks for 2008 (1,523,426) over December 2007 (1,230,525).
This follows a forty-two percent (42%) increase in November 2008, the highest number of NICS checks in the system's history. …
As a journalist with more than two decades of national newsgathering experience, Shepherd says he's never seen anything approaching what he calls the "Obama effect".
Personally, I can thank the Moonbat Messiah for inspiring me to pick up one of these:

Rifles with so-called "high-capacity magazines" may be a better choice, however; they'll be among the first guns to get banned. More importantly, make sure to have plenty of ammo, which the government can be expected to restrict. As the Founding Fathers clearly understood, an armed populace is the best defense against tyranny.

VH: Congrats on the new blaster. I'm a big fan of the Ruger; an SP-101 in .357 was my carry gun for years, and I recently bought one of their new 4" barrel .44 mags for backcountry hiking. You should see the eyes bug out on the "nature bunnies" on the hiking trail when they spot that on my hip! It's funny how polite people are when you carry something designed to stop a bear in its tracks.

I got my theft policy out on the table. However, the devils have something more diabolic in mind. The NRA lobbyist is aware of it and watching. Ammo shelf life will be longer than yours. Stock up now.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 ...
Ammunition Accountability Legislation
The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut, Hawaii! , Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.
Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

Last week I heard radio ads for a local gun show taking place last weekend. The spokesman thanked Obama (by name, yet!) for the record turnouts their group has seen at their last several shows, and has said the same to the media when asked about the turnouts. Ha!
The left (and many on the right, too) never seems to understand that when people want something, they'll get it by legal means if they can, and illegal means if they can't. It's illegal for felons to purchase guns, but they seem to get them from someplace. It will soon be illegal to buy incandescent light bulbs, so expect there to be a run on light bulb trafficking from Canada and Mexico. When the government mandated low-flow toilets, people used to truck the old-style thrones in from Canada. The mafia got as big as they are, and stays as big as they are, by dealing in just this kind of black market. Regulating it doesn't make it go away - it drives the practice underground.

And if people can't obtain things elsewhere, they will build it themselves! Guns and other weapons have been made in high security PRISONS, too.

Nothing beats a 45-70 and an 18 inch short stock pump (Rem or Moss) in the right hands. Especially in CQB. The 45-70 even gives you some range and kill power at moderate ranges in urban environments. Through building shots are also a bonus. Much easier and quicker than anything but a full out hog-wired carbine.
Note: Wear ear plugs in confined spaces. Especially if you are not worried about shooting friendlies.
Second Note: Never wear an ACORN t-shirt to a gun fight. They are easy targets.

Hey, I went shooting today! Got my AR-15 all zeroed in, and did some plinking with the .22's (just giving them some attention). Next week is handgun practice. :-)
I've been buying up ammo, and collecting brass from all the folks up at the range. The goal is 2000 rounds each of .223 and 9mm loaded, and supplies to reload 10,000 rounds of each. Heh heh
Looking to get a Ruger PC9 carbine and a Beretta 96 .40 cal; maybe a few more AR-15 lowers....
Yep, Chairman Zero sure has been a good salesman!

Let's hope their buying them to use and not to bury and hide. As I often tell people a buried gun is called an 'artifact.'
The day they tell us to turn them in or register them is the day we must start to get across them that we have had enough. No gun turn points will be tolerated.
