Global Warming Freezes the Sea off Southern England

Too bad CO2 doesn't really cause global warming. Then we could warm things up by cranking out more of it. But then, that might ruin the ice skating off the southern coast of England:

Temperatures plunged so low today that the sea actually began to freeze as Arctic conditions continued to grip the UK.
In the exclusive enclave of Sandbanks in Poole, Dorset the surf had frozen solid as the waves lapping the shore began to frost over.
A half-mile stretch along the shoreline reaching about 20 yards out to sea is covered in ice on the expensive peninsula.
In southern England, normally immune to the worst of the cold weather in winter, temperatures fell as low as -12C — and the chill will go on for several days according to forecasters.

I'll save the trolls some trouble by noting that cold is weather, which is different from climate, and besides it's caused by global warming.

On a tip from mandy.

Its not Global Warming any more, its CLIMATE CHANGE. So they cover both bases and cant be wrong. Sea ice in the southern UK is certainly a change!

Greenpeace and Al Gore into the land of doofus island where there is no common sense and everybody is retired into stupididy

Yeah, Climate Change, because as everyone knows the climate was fixed and static prior to the invention of the SUV.

Do you guys think they will continue to beat this dead horse with additional arguments, re-naming etc, as if it were their last stand? Or will they just move on to something else?

Even though it's not in their nature, I think they'll take the first choice and stand and fight. They have spent big money now. Moonbat politicians have staked their careers on it and face voter doom. Look at the billions spent already in alternative energy programs, and the windmills now dotting every hillside in Moonbattaria. They stuck their necks out bigtime on this one, are completely exposed, and have nothing to lose by fighting to the death on it.

If they let GW slink back under its rock, there will remain a permanent stain on the green movement. And a very big one indeed. It will impede any measure they try to introduce from this point on.

When you see them get smacked down online, you often see them respond with the subject change of "...well, but it's good for the environment anyway yada yada.." This is my vote for their party line in the coming years. It will evolve into a general warm and fuzzy earth feeling as it was before.

It's the jooz. allah has heard the prayers of the faithful and is distroying the infidels with the weather. All infidel supporters of the jooz will be whipped off the face of the earth in the wrath of allah supporting his faithful.
Or, it could just be winter.

It's juice Eric, not jooz.

jeeze!

I know trolls like to point out that weather isn't climate. This is because trolls don't own dictionaries. Strangely enough and quite counter-intuitive to Moonbat logic, weather actually is climate:

Climate |ˈklīmit|

noun

the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period : our cold, wet climate | agricultural development is constrained by climate.

~ Oxford English Dicionary

Is ten years of prevailing earth cooling weather conditions long enough to establish that as a general overall climate?

You all miss the point. The Global Warming Cooling Climate Chaos Change fanatics aren't appealing to the public any longer. They're preaching TO THE CONVERTED, in order to KEEP THEM CONVERTED.

All the school kids who have zero reasoning skills yet are being fed the BS to keep 'em in line. I heard several times just yesterday one of the GW faithful STILL saying "the temperature has gone up EVERY YEAR since 1997". Which, of course, it hasn't.

They are NEVER going to let this go. They see this as their last, best hope for "change" and by GOD (or Mother Gaia) they are gonna shove this down the world's throat.

Remember: Man is the parasite. Humans cause all problems. WE are the infection on Mother Gaia. A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. Co2 is poison, humans emit Co2, Co2 emissions should be eliminated, therefore...

Over a year ago, it was suggested that (IF the rise in tempatures continued) the average tempature would rise only SIX degrees by 2050. Less than a year ago, the same researchers suggested a NINE degree rise by 2050. The "warmies" paniced and said that this would be enough to melt the ice caps and cause near-instant flooding.

Here's a little math problem for the true believers:
Since water freezes at 32 degrees farenhight, we'll alow an average tempature of 40 degrees at either pole, night and day. Now calculate and tell us:
How long would it take to melt the ice caps?

Bonus Question:
How many HUNDREDS of degrees would the new average tempature be at the Equater?

You all miss the point.

I remember when all this madness first started and AGW advocates insisted that we would never actually notice AGW creeping up on us because it would be so slow and the warming would be just a little bit and it would affect night-time temperatures. But it would only take that little barely noticeable bit of night-time temperature warming to make big changes. That actually sounded reasonable. But it wasn't enough of a dramatic catastrophic heartrending earthshattering scenario for them. It didn't capture the imagination. And it was just too darn slow.

"All the school kids who have zero reasoning skills yet are being fed the BS to keep 'em in line" ... "GOD" ... LOL!

It is utterly astounding, or perhaps it shouldn't be, that the Right Wing is SO damned dumb that they don't realize global warming causes cooling.

You people probably thing that cat gut is made from cats.

No. Catgut is made from the guts of cats

"Too bad CO2 doesn't really cause global warming."

Some ignorance requires a response. You really need to object to things in an intelligent way: i.e., not just becasue you've picked a plitical side and are scientifically illiterate.

No scientist on either side of the debate thinks that CO2 doesn't cause warming of the atmosphere. None. That's why the Earth is warm enough to sustain life. The greenhouse effect itself is not controversial (accept among politicos like you maybe).

The debate is whether we can put enough carbon in the atmosphere to make climate change, whethere there's enough compensatory processes that will come about to offset the carbon, etc. THESE are the debates re: anthropogenic global warming, to that extent that they even exist anymore.

I do find it funny when politicos think they can talk about science with no scientific training whatsoever, especially when they say things like:

"Too bad CO2 doesn't really cause global warming"

Wow. That's just Gold right there.

I'm sorry, this is actually dumber. Wow:

"Here's a little math problem for the true believers:

Do you guys really think that your supposin' 'bout things is really some sort of substitution for understanding these things? Really?

Saw on THIS HISTORY CHANNEL that the summer of 1816 here in the USA they had SNOW IN JULY and the famous picture of WASHINGTON CROSSING THE DELAWARE was accurate. AL GORE THE HOT AIR KING

Posted by: SPURWING PLOVER at January 8, 2009 7:48 AM

pan, "Too bad CO2 doesn't really cause global warming" isn't a reference to it it being a greenhouse gas, it is a reference to the fact that geological records show CO2 levels rise after warming has occurred - not before.

"...the Right Wing is SO damned dumb that they don't realize global warming causes cooling."

~If you don't mind I'm going to save this little gem. I'm assuming you're a parody, because no one could be this stupid and still know how to operate a keyboard.
