Zimbabwe Blazes the Trail Into Socialism
Race-based socialism is heading toward its end game in Zimbabwe:
Robert Mugabe — the octogenarian despot who liberated Rhodesia from white rule to form the new country of Zimbabwe — appears to believe that, since he created the country, he can and will destroy it. …
Prices double every day; disease is killing off many who go without the means to buy food or treatment; death and emigration have halved Zimbabwe's population of four years ago; and those that remain have the lowest life expectancy in the world — roughly 34 for men and 35 for women.
The politically favored elite in Zimbabwe have sucked the lifeblood from many formerly productive areas of the economy. Until recently — when they completely destroyed tobacco and other productive farming sectors by mismanagement — they had made vast amounts from land redistribution.
Despite the misery, things are still working out okay for the socialist rulers:
One area which is still profitable for the elites is the lawless and murderous diamond-mining region in the extreme east of the country. The 170-acre Chiadzwa diamond field on the border with Mozambique should provide over $1 billion per month in revenue, says Gideon Gono, the chairman of the Zimbabwean central bank. Outside experts don't disagree with that rough estimate. Yet somehow the Zimbabwean government officially gets nothing from this entire field. The mines were nationalized in 2006, after the former owner — the British company, African Consolidate Resources (ACR) — was banished. The place has been commandeered by some of the army elite, who pay paltry sums to their "staff" — many of whom die due to violence and poor conditions. Favored officers pocket a few millions in diamonds every month — no one knows exactly how much.
This explains why the Three Stooges — Obama, Reid, and Pelosi — will continue to push America into socialism, even as it radically reduces the country's capacity to produce wealth. Socialism isn't about producing more; it's about making sure that what little the government allows to be produced is distributed in accordance with social justice — i.e., all profits are controlled by the ruling elite.
As for the PEOTUS's policy on Zimbabwe:
President-Elect Barack Obama and his expert foreign-policy team — notably Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice — have said nothing about Zimbabwe in over five months.
Without Western aid, Mugabe's regime would finally collapse. But the pipeline of free money that leads from your pocket to his is in no danger of getting cut off.
Maybe socialism will turn out differently in America than it has in Zimbabwe. Then again, maybe I'll step out the front door and through a wormhole into an alternate universe just like this one, only without moonbats, and the streets will be paved with gold.

On a tip from V the K.

I bought some Zimbabwe 1 million (old) dollar notes and a 100 billion dollar one on ebay a while back. A few days ago I checked the exchange rate. After the revaluation and subsequent continued inflation, the million dollar ones are now worth less than a nanodollar US.

Mr. Evilwrench;
Ya know, it would be easier to buy your wallpaper at Home Depot, than on eBay.

You are so wrong here. Mugabe didn't blaze the trail to socialism, that trail was already in place having been initially traveled by the highly successful economies of the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Bulgaria and the like.
Credit where credit is due.

We have our own Mugabe - The Obamessiah. His announcement that he intends to enrich his buddies like The Goracle with the country's treasure fighting AGW and getting us 'energy independence' is just the tip of the iceberg that the ship of state is going to hit very soon with the same results as in 1912.
Nazi Pelosi and the gang of theives in D.C. are spring loaded into the kleptocracy mode, so it won't be long until the wealth transfer bills will start passing Congress.

The latter is more likely than the former.

Are you kidding? there are legitimate, rationale reasons to be against socialism, but the political corruption of Zimbabwean officials isn't one of them. Do you really think that the money from diamond sales are being "distributed in accordance with social justice?" And how that serves as evidence that the "Three Stooges" would want to continue a similar path is well beyond any logic I can see. Mugabe is in fight for power and the country is teetering on revolution/collapse: would any rational politician want that? This blog is ridiculous.

are you kidding?
Mugabe took office under the auspices of hope and change.
Socialism leads to wealth re-distribution. Wealth re-distribution leads to equality in misery. Once you start down that dark path, forever will it control your destiny.

Zimbabwe has been a hell-hole for many years.
A few years back it was well reported that the South African gov. was deporting young Zimbabwe illegals -- on trains -- back to their satanic homeland, and that suicidal leaps from those trains were occurring almost daily. Those young Zimbabweans would rather die than be forced back. And who could blame them? This isn't socialism -- it's a dictator and his regime murdering his own countrymen and we've been watching it for a generation. It's sickening beyond belief.

As a friend once confided in me: "I will be behind the butt of a rifle before I let my kids go hungry."
There are sheep in America who might let such a thing as this happen, but there are a lot of people who won't, either.

To see what the Mugabe Regime has been trying to hide, click here...
The cholera epidemic is much, much worse than most authorities thought.
Mugabe, of course, says it is not a problem.
Probably because his mansion has good plumbing and sanitation.
Obama and his Red buddies are about a stone's throw from this sort of wholesale neglect.

Mugabe is in fight for power and the country is teetering on revolution/collapse
That was almost a sentence.
And WHY is Zimbabwe on the verge of collapse?
Socialism.
would any rational politician want that?
You do 0bama, Reid & Pelosi a HUGE credit by assuming that they are, by any means, 'rational'.
This blog is ridiculous.
So are you and your fellow Reds, moonbat.

Don't worry gents... really... it's ok. Socialism is perfect on paper. It just needs proper adjustment to work in practical application.
For shit's sake... how many times have we heard that one?

Welcome to the future of America! Yeah, that POS Mugabe is a dictator, not merely a Socialist/Communist, and the Obamanation will not (at least initially) be a dictator, just a figurehead, basically, for the Third Rei . . . er, Clinton Administration and these retreads' plans for a "New" America (read: Socialism run rampant). Hell, he's even put Shrillary front and center!
But, as time goes by (hey -- great title for a song!), and more and more of America's private sector is nationalized, I haven't the slightest doubt that Obambi, already an egomaniac of epic proportions, will drift toward that kind of absolute power that corrupts absolutely, in the model of a Mugabe or Castro (or Mao, Uncle Joe, Kim Jong Mentally Il, and so many others).
If conservatives do not regain the House at least, and hopefully the Senate as well, in 2010, it may already be too late to unseat the new Il Duce/Our Beloved Chairman/Ruler for Life, little Barry Hussein (it's OK to use the middle name again, I see!) Obama in 2012, even if the entire country has descended into a cesspool with no hope of climbing back out.
A Second American Revolution, anyone? "Aux armes, citoyens!," to borrow from the French . . .

As I've heard it stated before, Zimbabwe is nothing more than communist occupied Rhodesia and Mugabe is their Stalin.

Zimbzwe's inflation rate is 80 billion percent as of October.
That's 98% inflation every 24.7 hours.
Compare that with Germany during the Weimar Republic, when inflation hit 313 million % in October of 1923. It took 3.7 days for inflation to cut the mark's buying power in half.
Zimbabwe's inflation rate is ~6.5 quindecillion novemdecillion percent a year; that's 65 followed by 107 zeroes [source: Forbes, 12/22/08]. The only people interested in Zimbabwe dollars are foreign currency collectors. The locals won't accept them any more.
This can not go on much longer.
And where is the feckless U.N.? Out partying on lobster, caviar, white wine and brie at their latest globaloney warming summit?

What one totally bugshit crazy politician thousands of miles away from a different culture speaking a different language and practicing different perversions of reason and infected with unknown demons will do is hardly a prediction of what our own bugshit crazy politicians will do.
It is kind of like comparing a pernicious fungus infecting a balboa tree and a strain of rabies infecting an artic fox. The course of one disease tells very little about the course of the other.
