Rick Perry Takes a Swing at Global Warming Power Grab

It's up to the states to put up resistance to the climate change moonbattery with which the leftists infesting Washington are advancing their malignant agenda. Governor Rick Perry of Texas has stepped up to the plate by explaining the sheer insanity of giving the EPA power over the CO2 emissions that we're supposed to believe cause global warming:

The proposed reinterpretation of the Clean Air Act would strangle virtually every sector of the U.S. economy with red tape, including owners of commercial buildings, small farms, hotels and hospitals. This plan would impose a massive burden upon our economy without achieving the goal of reducing greenhouse gases.
Current regulations typically limit point-source emissions of toxins that contaminate a particular area. Carbon emissions differ in that they rapidly spread across the globe. Because other countries do little or nothing to limit their own emissions, which far outweigh U.S. emissions in the first place, reducing our emissions would have little, if any, significant global impact.
At a time when jobs across the country are disappearing and the federal government is throwing hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars at failing companies, it strikes me as odd that the EPA would be contemplating ways to do more economic harm. …
Make no mistake about it, China, India, and other countries will be more than happy to welcome businesses driven away by these costly regulations. They'll happily take the jobs and the emissions with them, meaning the federal government will have accomplished nothing at irreparable cost to our economy. That is not progress.

Unless of course you define progress as progress toward the wretched, repressive, Third-World socialist hellhole progressives have long wanted to establish in place of America.

On a tip from Byron.

Ed Rendell is hilarious. Moonbat PA governator is a Joe Biden in training.

http://community.post-gazette.com/blogs/earlyreturns/default.aspx

"Ed Rendell was the MC for the governor's meeting in Philly yesterday, where there was much to be heard on the open mics. CNN zeroed-in its microphones on Pa's motor-mouthed governor and heard him saying this about Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, Obama's pick for Homeland Security chief:

"Janet's perfect for that job. Because for that job, you have to have no life. Janet has no family. Perfect. She can devote, literally, 19-20 hours a day to it.""

The idgits who commented on that article haven't a clue what Perry's saying. In regards to the UN's global policies, he's 100% correct.

I'm glad Perry is speaking up.

I've been annoyed with environuts for a long time, but my patience is completely over for this crap now. We can't afford extravagantly expensive regulations that do nothing except kill business.

I expect to see "green" schtick in advertising and other enviro-propaganda beginning to fade soon. More people have to be getting irritated with this nonsense when there are real problems to work on.

Watch Governor Perry. He is going to find his voice now with a Democrat in office starting Jan. 20th. He called the push to give illegals amnesty "assinine".

I have no always agreed with Perry, but basically our state has done well under him. He blocked a move by Austin Democrats to initiate a state income tax saying if it was presented to him he would veto the bill and because the Dems didn't have enough votes to override him, they dropped it. He has brought business into our state where we now have a lower than nation average unemployment rate, a balanced budget and a budget surplus.

The 41 state governors who are kissing the ass of "The One" looking for bailouts should talk to Perry.

Human carbon emissions are dwarfed by natural carbon emissions, which are dwarfed by other greenhouse gasses, which are minute when compared to water vapor, which doesn't matter anyway, as ice core data has rendered the CO2 causation theory moot to begin with.

retire05-
Texas doesn't just have a budget surplus, we have an $11 Billion surplus. Without state income taxes. The other states should take note.

Did Dino change his name, or is someone just mocking him? If it's the latter, stop. We don't need that here. If its the former, hey dino. I see you haven't lost your charm.

Back on subject, Rick Perry is missing the point. It doesn't matter if the regulation actually reduces CO2 emissions, what matters is that we're "doing something" and we're "feeling good about it" You know, all that garbage.

The thing that bothers me most is that people keep saying that we should not pursue CO2 reduction because of the effect on the economy etc., when they should be saying that we shouldn't pursue CO2 reduction because the whole man made global warming idea is a political hoax.
