Public Aware That Like Obama, Financial Crisis Is Largely a Media Creation
You can fool some of the people some of the time, which the media proved by getting the Moonbat Messiah elected President and convincing the gullible that global warming is real. But as the MSM casts off even the thinnest pretense of professionalism in pursuit of its radical-left policy goals, fewer are getting fooled less of the time.
An overwhelming 77 percent of Americans believe that the US media is making the economic situation worse by projecting fear into people's minds. The majority of those surveyed feel that the financial press, by focusing on and embellishing negative news, is damaging consumer confidence and damping investment, making a difficult situation much worse.
The same young adults the media duped into flushing away their futures by voting for BHO overwhelmingly (85%) answered Yes to this question:
Do you think the financial press is making the economic crisis worse by projecting fear into people's minds?
Having abused our trust far too long, the dinosaur media is finding the ground begin to crumble away beneath its feet. Wait until people figure out that global warming is a lie, and Obama is not a messiah but a tasteless joke at America's expense. That's when the alphabet networks and the NY Times will be neck deep in the tar pits.
In the meantime, we can look forward to the economic situation improving when BHO takes office, because at that point the papers will stop talking us toward a depression, having lowered the economic bar to where The One might be able to step over it.

Its the same way with all this GLOBAL WARMING stuff the liberal left-wing news media are using it to scare us all into thinking like liberals(who have no brains)maybe thats why these news papers are losing readers

It's true, if the media keeps talking down the economy, people get scared and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I've learned to listen less to the MSM and listen more to my friends and neighbors.

i've been saying this for some time - although i'm concerned with the "global" aspects of it and i do see nearly everything from a biblical perspective - what is happening fits in quite nicely - me worried? no - but we do prepare for our stupid friends and relatives for when their worlds fall apart. it's going to get crowded on the mountain...

There is still a lot of fooling going on. The great majority of people are blissfully unaware of the democrats hand in helping bring about this crisis, as they've been told it's all Bush's fault. I would also bet a majority probably believe Blagojevich is a Republican. They only need to keep about 41% of the voter base ignorant in order to keep the 10% that consists of True Believers in power.
I am encouraged that their commitment to ideology over profit is driving them to insolvency, but it may just be time for the George Soros crowd to dig a little deeper. Let's hope the good sense of the American people bankrupts the lot of them.

The goal is to get people thinking we are in a new Great Depression.
Then the nutcase BHO can ram every crackpot idea he wants through congress in a desperate attempt to save the country from total ruin.
But you can't do that if things are okay.
Also as the press reports good news after BHO gets in office it will make it look like he is saving us all.

Have you noticed how before Thanksgiving, the press was crowing about how horrible the economy was and how many companies were going to go under because the Christmas season was going to be a big bust?
Then it came out that Wal-Mart actually made a 10% gain for the month of November and estimates of Black Friday sales were right in line with past years. And now it's nothing but ... chirping ... crickets ... in the leftstream media. No mention of how wrong they were. No mention of the fact that Christmas sales are actually looking very good under the circumstances.
But not to worry. Come January 20th, the economy will suddenly rebound and everything will be coming up roses. There will be nothing but positive economic news or positive spin on the economic news for the next four years. Watch for it.

I think there is a strategy afoot here. Chairman 0 and his minions in the media are hyping a new Greater Depression. This way, when Obama's economic policies fail, they can argue that he averted a far worse economic disaster.

There has already been talk of bailouts for NBC and the NYT. I doubt 0bama will allow his cheerleaders to go under.

The MSM has been saying we've been in a recession for almost three years. Now that we're actually in a recession, they have upped the ante to "depression".
They're still doing their best to make sure it becomes a depression too. Funny thing is, some of the first institutions going down are liberal news papers.

Dinosaurs were actually very successful critters. They were around for millions of years and evolved/developed to fit their niche. Journalists that lie are a luxury that only the most spoiled and indulgent society could afford. They devolved from what was once an honorable profession. It is really misleading to call such worthless, refuse dinosaurs.
(People in the media who work in non free countries writing government propaganda and spewing forth official lies are not journalists. Also people like Gibson and Couric who are tools and high-priced kept whores and even though useful to their owners are not journalists.)

How do you think Caroline Kennedy is getting Hillary Clinton's Senate seat?" Ha!
I believe the financial crisis is largely the creation of two groups, each using it for their own purposes: the media, who know that bad news sells better than good news, and socialists on both sides of the political spectrum, who see it as a way for them to grab control over large parts of the American economy. Not to say that the financial institutions involved are blameless, because they certainly aren't, but the market would have worked its own way out. Treasury Secretary Paulson, supposedly a Republican, was most irresponsible in issuing remarks early on in the crisis that painted the situation as leading to a new Great Depression if we don't throw untold billion of dollars at various companies. The markets promptly tanked, and no wonder. When the Secretary of the Treasury says something like that, of course people panic. A person with one iota of common sense would realize that someone in a position of authority could cause a panic rather than avert one if he chooses his words unwisely. But then, no one accuses anyone in government of having common sense, as those that do stay the hell out of that kind of snake pit.

"In the meantime, we can look forward to the economic situation improving when BHO takes office..."
NOT!
Once the Obomination signs the Global Warming dictats from Nazi Pelosi and company the economy will start a steep decline into oblivion. Remember the pictures from Russia before the USSR crashed? People in lines for food because no one was producing any, five families to an apartment, etc. That's where we're headed. And just like the Aparatchiks, Pelosi and Kennedy and all will live like kings and queens while the rest suffer.
Welcome to Barry's world.

I see one thing that would help this country out of its financial woes.......LOWER TAXES! HELLO!!!
Lowering corporate taxes would certainly be a good start.
Something else that would help...BUST THE UNIONS!

Please tell us Van Helsing ...this new discovery is really upsetting me... where are we to go for real information now that we learn that everything we thought we knew is made up by the media... please help!!! I'm gettin scared....

Can't do anything through government intervention
Why do you Liberals ALWAYS look to the GOVERNMENT for guidance and solutions? I thought you neo-hippies HATED and DISTRUSTED government; but I guess all that matters is who is in office, right?
Posted by: KHarn at December 17, 2008 2:49 PM
We really can't expect government to solve all our problems for us. We should all work together to solve our problems and improve our lives, rather than expecting Washington to do it for us.

There is no crisis, nor a conspiracy of Democrats hyping depression on Obama's behalf, either.
All there is is a stock market correction. News is then built to explain why the market went down. When the market finishes correcting, the "crisis" will be declared already over.
It's been working this way for HUNDREDS of years, right back to the Dutch tulips.
93 % of Americans have jobs, and 93 % of mortgage holders are on time with their payments.
