Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Dong Yun Yoon
Legal immigrants to the USA pose a jarring contrast with the disrespectful riffraff sneaking across the undefended border. We could never have enough Americans like Dong Yun Yoon:
A Korean immigrant who lost his wife, two children and mother-in-law when a Marine Corps jet slammed into the family's house said Tuesday he did not blame the pilot, who ejected and survived.
"Please pray for him not to suffer from this accident," a distraught Dong Yun Yoon told reporters gathered near the site of Monday's crash of an F/A-18D jet in San Diego's University City community.
"He is one of our treasures for the country," Yoon said in accented English punctuated by long pauses while he tried to maintain his composure.
"I don't blame him. I don't have any hard feelings. I know he did everything he could," said Yoon, flanked by members of San Diego's Korean community, relatives and members from the family's church.
Authorities said four people died when the jet crashed into the Yoon family's house while the pilot was trying to reach nearby Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Another unoccupied house also was destroyed.
Local lawyers must be bummed that they won't be getting a cut of any extravagant lawsuits against the armed forces.

God bless that guy. And the pilot too; I read that when he finally got out of the tree after cutting out of his chute straps, the ifrst thing he said was "I hope I didn't kill someone".
That Korean guy is probably being besieged by attorneys. He deserves a medal for being an outstanding American.

Most asian immigrants are like that. They come here legally, play by the rules, work hard, learn English and become real assets to America. Granted there are some Mexicans who are the same way, but the vast majority insists WE speak Spanish and cater to them.
I hope someone sets up a fund for Yoon so he can recover from his loss (though money wont bring his family back, it would help) - he deserves it for being a real American; more American that native born Moonbats who slap America in the face every chance they get.

I vote for that guy if he was running for president.

I can't remember exactly what it was, but something happened (a terror attact or some guy went nuts and killed a bunch of people). It was someone who was Korean anyhow, and the Korean community apologized that one of their own would so such a thing.
A Moslem does something similar and they dance in the streets and proclaim him a martyr.
There is the difference between civilization and barbarism. This guy Yoon is a civilized gentleman. I'm sure all our hearts and prayers go out to him.

By the way, to all the leftists who always say we're racist here, how do you account for the posts above?
If you "progressives" hate the military so much and are SO compassionate, how about using all that hot air you throw around to do something for this family? Raise a billionth as much as you did for Barack Obama and help these folks out.

He will realy disapoint those miserble pretaroial lawyers he wont have the vultures circling over him we need more persons like him who dont go out and hire the law firm of VULTURE,BUZZARD,LEECH,SLUG,SNAKE,HYENA and JACKAL to file some stupid lawsuit

He sounds like a really good guy. He's a credit to all our legal immigrants.

That poor guy. My deepest condolences to him, along with my most profound respect for how he has comported himself in this tragedy. We need more Americans like him.

This not only demonstrates difference in cultures but difference in religion. Notice that this man is a born again Christian who is following the teachings of Christ.
As someone who posted above stated, if this were a Muslim, the Muslims would be dancing in the streets and handing out candy.

Kristy, just remember: according to political and religious geniuses like Rosie O'Donnell, Christians are just as bad as Moslem terrorists.

Mr. Dong Yun Yoon, you sir are the bravest most gracious man I have ever seen or heard. Nothing can compare to the terrible loss you have suffered. I grieve with you. I admire your grace in such an unbelievable period of tragedy that no one should ever suffer. Your family was a beautiful one and nothing can replace their cherished lives, and I offer to you my prayers and my hopes that you will be strong through this. You are certainly a man of great character that all us Americans can learn from your compassion and humility. My thoughts and prayers also go to the young soldier and his family who will bear a heavy heart as a result of this accident. May God bring healing and grace to all effected.

Gosh .Pilot kills 4 and save himself? wish I know the whole story why he decided to eject knowing that the plane could be heading to residential house nearby? isnt ships captain die honorably with ship when it sinks? in any case I hope it could have been preventable at least not to kill civilians due to either pilot or plane maintenance issues. PiLOT should have stayed with the plane.( I am sorry but there is no excuse for this) now he has to live this with rest of his life that knowing he killed 4 inocent civilians. yes there are so many 'WHAT IFs comes to everyones mind"

The plane's going down. There's something seriously wrong, so the pilot very likely does not have any influence whatsoever over it anymore. So the pilot should die too? Don't be an ass. Mr. Yoon, even with his loss and in his grief, maintains his perspective. Like the reasonable, civilized people that made this country what it was. It chokes me up. He ****ing rocks, and I'm glad someone posted his address. Some people would think he hasn't naturalized sufficiently, that he hasn't already entered the lawsuit lottery. Bravo Sierra.

Mr. yoon is trying to forgive the pilot for what he has done. Thats not to say pilot will not be liable for his action, there will be many questions. what a sadness. pilot has to live with it for the rest of his life.

My prayers are with him and the pilot. Both have lost an enormous amount. Thanks for posting the address. I can only hope the dems will send this poor man funds like they did to 0. (seein' as they are so caring and feely and all)

As a Marine aircrewman, this hits home pretty hard. I've got friends stationed at MCAS Miramar with VMGR-352 and the F-18 squadrons are right next door on the flight line. We aviators are a pretty tight-knit group of folks, and things like this always serve as an icy reminder of the inherent dangers of what we do as aviators.
This is tragic, and as a Marine I can only be thankful to have the backing of fine Americans like this gentleman.
Some words that come to mind are that of President Bush's dedication of the Air Force Memorial: "...aviators, by their nature, are optimistic people. It takes an optimist to climb into a steel tube, race to the sky at 1,500 miles an hour heading toward danger, and expect to return home safely."
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Yoon. I hope all MB readers send him a financial contribution to help this man in need.

So.. What you are saying is that if the pilot had stayed in the plane as it spiralled out of control onto the house, that would have magically made the plane not kill people when it hit the house?
In effect what you are doing is a. calling the pilot a coward whose lapse in judgement and courage led to civilians dying - an accusation based on precisely zero evidence, and b. suggesting that it is "dishonorable" for the pilot to save himself when nothing more could be done to avert the tragedy. Because apparently to a moonbat five deaths is better than four.
Disgusting, reflexive aspersions cast onto military personnel - check
Insinuation that military personnel lacked honor by doing basic minimum to ensure own safety - check
Advocating senseless death of military personnel for no good reason besides fulfilling YOUR own twisted idea of "avoiding dishonor" - check
You have achieved true Moonbat status, congratulations.

Doesnt matter what he did or could have been done, innocent civilians gotten killed. adults and a kid incinerated, and killed someones lifes dream along with it. for gods sake. I like to know what military will do to remediate this? are thye going to hush hush again? when plane gets out of control you better not jump out knowing your plane will end up in someones bedroom killing innocent civilians. you better die along try best to prevent this.(yes even with mechanical error if you argue) this is honorable death!. you are going to keep your face up knowing plane you jumped out, which saved your own life, and Killed 4? are you kidding me?

Yes, this is the definition of a tragedy. I'm glad you're keeping up so far.
I like to know what military will do to remediate this?
I'm sure we'll find out. Better yet, I'd like you to tell us what should be done.
are thye going to hush hush again?
Again? In reference to what other "hush hush" event? How could they keep this "hush hush?" Even a mouth-breating idiot like you knows about what happened, so if they military were trying to cover this up they've clearly already failed.

~No, no one's kidding you. There's nothing funny about this. I'm sure this pilot will be haunted for the rest of his life by the consequences of this tragedy. Your knee-jerk reaction that consists of wishing for even more death is typical of your ilk. Please explain how the pilot's death would've alleviated any suffering. Do you think that would comfort the survivors? Stop hiding behind the pretense of caring one iota about the pilot's "honor" or ability to "keep his face up." Admit it, you're a hateful idiot who operates blindly on emotion.
Grow up.

Thank you for posting this story - I wonder whether I would have the grace of Mr. Yoon to be so charitable. Yes, his story made me cry. I have donated funds to enable you to send Mr. Yoon a paper card from the Internet - to let him know he is not alone in a caring America. (Although this website is mine, I do not earn from it, as I am on SSDI.*) Thank you, and, God Bless.

"when plane gets out of control you better not jump out >knowing the pilot did not jump knowing his plane would hit a house. He did his best to aim at an uninhabited canyon. He ejected at the last possible moment and, if he hadn't been snagged by a tree, could have sustained serious injuries himself. The airfield was there long before the houses were built. When people choose to live in close proximity to airfields this is a risk they take. It is not the pilots fault that there are so many houses in their way now giving them little leeway in emergency circumstances.
