Pardon for Employing Illegals, Not for Keeping Them Out

As feared, President Bush has neglected to use his pardon powers to free Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, the heroic Border Patrol agents who were railroaded after defending the country from a Mexican drug-dealer and given absurdly draconian sentences. But W's heart isn't a lump of ice; he did see fit to pardon South Texas rancher John Allen Aregood.

Aregood had earned a felony conviction for knowingly hiring the illegal aliens Compean and Ramos were thrown in jail for trying to keep out.

With the impending Obamunist regime, the treasonous insanity of a government that sides with foreign invaders against the native population will continue. But at least when Democrats are responsible, it should be easier to organize resistance to this moonbattery — provided RINOs like Juan McAmnesty are driven out of the GOP.

Ramos spent another Christmas behind bars, apart from his wife.

On tips from Byron.

How to secure the boarders in one word:Minefields.

Bush's failure to free those 2 guys is a black stain on his Presidency. Yet another reason why Bush in his 2nd term was such a dissappointment. Even if he frees them as part of the usual last minute pardons, they spent way too much time in jail. Actually 1 minute was too much. Bush isnt running for office any more, why would he care if the Mexicans like him or not? Bush has been a real mixed bag.

I am no longer calling myself a Republican. I'm a conservative who has no official party. The Repub's have dropped the ball so badly, I'm ashamed to be associated with them. When (just days before the election) I went to the local Rep headquarters, the arrogance and dismissive attitude were overwhelming. It is no surprise we lost, and I told them so. They didn't like that. Too damn bad.

If I fall into a "party" at all, it would be Objectivism (Ayn Rand).

I'm with you on the Objectivism part, matt. Here's something you might like:

I started subscribing to it just a few weeks ago. One of the benefits of subscribing is you can access all the old articles online. There's a lot of good stuff in their archives.

Wow, Kev...now there are (at least) two of us! Obviously, I think Rand was over the top on a few issues, but the core of her ideas were amazing. I'd love to see more people at least be exposed to things like Atlas Shrugged.

The first time I read it, it was almost too much...it wiped away SO many ideas about politics, money, capitalism...and it was uncomfortable. But in the end, it re-arranged my thinking in a very positive way. Glad we're on the same page!

GWB's compassionate conservatism has turned out to be neoliberalism.

I highly doubt that BHO will even put up a pretense of defending our borders. We'll find out soon enough on that score, but the mainstream media won't be the source of that discovery.

What a disgrace! If this is an example of the "conservative" party in action, we are so screwed!

@matt

You might want to have a look at the Constitution Party, who are probably the only real conservative party in the country.

I was previously involved with the Libertarian Party on and off for about 15 years, but I've now rejected libertarianism as a viable philosophy. As one wit put it, the problem with libertarianism is that no libertarian has ever advocated a position that would have the consequence of actually increasing anyone's liberty. More likely it would result in the destruction of what liberty we still have left.

Why didn't he pardon these men?

I am disgusted.

ALL PARDONS FOR HIRING ILLEGAL ALIENS SHOULD BE BANNED THOSE TWO BORDER PATROL AGENTS DESERVE THE PARDONS

Posted by: Spurwing Plover at December 27, 2008 7:40 PM

The GOP has been deader than a doornail for years. I too am a conservative without a party (and maybe soon devoid of a country).
Son of cain was a sick joke from the get-go as a candidate and thank GOD he didn't get voted in. He'd have been an even bigger p#$%y than the current oval office resident. Bush is a disgrace and this case is proof positive. I'd love to hear his explanation as to why these two men are allowed to fester in prison for doing their job. But I won't hold my breath.

Matt & Kev...

Did somebody ask, "who is John Galt?"

Posted by: hiram at December 27, 2008 8:59 PM

There is still time. Write the White House. Write you're congressman.

Posted by: Bob at December 27, 2008 10:47 PM

Hiram, no they didn't...but thanks for providing the reminder!

Posted by: matt at December 27, 2008 11:16 PM

How many illegal aliens and crinimals will obama consiter for pardons?

Posted by: Spurwing Plover at December 27, 2008 11:43 PM

Matt...

Just saying I'm with you and Kev.. I'm hoping someone will emerge in the next election cycle who has the balls (or ovaries, think Sarah) to stand up and say:

A IS A

Posted by: hiram at December 28, 2008 1:57 AM

A pox on Bush if he doesn't pardon Ramos and Compean.

Posted by: Mike at December 28, 2008 3:21 AM

I think we have to admit that some of the left's criticisms of Bush are valid. Yes, he is arrogant, and he won't listen to all the people calling for Ramos and Compean to be pardoned. Yes, he is an elitist, and he's not going to go out of the way to help two men who are not of his Ivy League/Skull and Bones strata of society. Yes, he protects his cronies, like Scooter Libby, while giving the finger two these Border Patrol agents.

The right will no doubt be vindicated in its criticisms of Obama.

Posted by: V the K at December 28, 2008 6:32 AM

Yes, it is an unacceptable disgrace and it does not fit President Bush, so I wonder what is really behind it. There is no excuse for it and it is without explanation.

Posted by: rosie at December 28, 2008 8:09 AM

As a person who voted for Bush twice, I am getting the terrible feeling that he is not really naive or kind to a fault, but is actually an evil man.

I hear ya; but the simple fact is that there is really no way another party for conservatives is going to be viable besides the Republican party in the forseeable future.

IMHO (and bear in mind that I am not American nor do I live there, so my opinion is by definition less in tune with your political reality) would be to put the effort into becoming more active within the Republican party itself and doing whatever can be done to purge it of RINOs and encourage the next generation of real conservative leaders to step up.

It just seems a pity that a party that managed to bring Sarah Palin to the table this election (and she damn near pulled out a win for them) and has so many others waiting in the wings, would be abandoned by true conservatives due to the fact that it's currently run by grey-haired, out-of-touch country club liberal/centrist/moderate conservatives in name only (CINOs), when it seems to me there is more potential for a conservative revival than there has been for a long time (and of course many RINO commentators like Peggy Noonan et al would be driven from the party should Palin gain further prominence, a sort of automatic purging process.)

Just my two cents, but it seems there would be more to gain from expending effort within the Republican party to reshape it, than by trying to start from scratch elsewhere..

Lets bustem out! Write your law makers. Flood their web sites with your outrage of injustist. Find the drug dealer they shot in the ass and hang that lousy chunk of shit.

I will not subscribe to the republican party anymore. They have let me down. I am a conservative American. We should start our own party.
