Oxford University Press Applies Newspeak Principles to Junior Dictionary

Once again, moonbats are using George Orwell's 1984 as an instruction manual, attempting to control our thoughts by limiting our vocabulary:

Words associated with Christianity, the monarchy and British history have been dropped from a leading dictionary for children. … The publisher claims the changes have been made to reflect the fact that Britain is a modern, multicultural, multifaith society.

Words removed from the Junior Dictionary by Oxford University Press include "saint," "bishop," "chapel," "empire," and "monarch." Look for future editions to erase the words "morals," "decency," "integrity," "civilization," and "honor."

On a tip from Pochechuyev.

Yes, it's supposed to be a warning, not a how-to manual.

I bet they removed the term "dipshit" a long time ago.

Also, "dignity" and "self-preservation".

It would be "honour" actually...

Silly British Imperial spelling...

Do they still have jihad, infidel and sharia?

According to the article, the words "sin" and "devil" have been removed. After all, the devil's best ruse is to convince people he does not exist.

Christmas words ("carol", "cracker", "holly", "ivy", "miseltoe") are also out. Celebration of the Nativity of Christ, however much it has been secularised, is gravely offensive in a multicultural society.

Vineeta Gupta, head of OUP children's dictionaries, says: "Our understanding of religion is within multiculturalism, which is why some words such as "Pentecost" or "Whitsun" would have been in 20 years ago but not now."

Among the words newly added are "interdependent", "EU", "committee", "compulsory", and "biodegradable".

The word "bacon" (a pork product, offensive to a certain easily enraged segment of the multicultural community) is also out.

It wouldn't have "honor" in anyway. It's spellt "honour"!

I was joking with a friend the other night as we walked down Cornmarket and onto St. Giles Street. The church-bells all throughout Oxford had begun to ring at 7:00, there was a brass band playing Christmas songs in the street, and 'winter blue' lights in the shape of stars and other designs hung between the buildings. I told her, only half jokingly, "You better enjoy this, because in a few years it will be politically incorrect to see what you see and hear what you hear."

In the last hour I was in town I probably heard 7 or 8 different languages. I bought a falafel from a Lebanese dude. I saw two monks, two nuns, and a priest. I'm sure the Anglicans were around somewhere, but I didn't see them today. Interestingly, the majority of foreigners I see hear are Asian. London is a lot different though, and not to mention Manchester or Leeds.

I wrote the above, and yes, I used the wrong 'here'.

Other than it getting dark at 4:20 in the afternoon, it's pretty nice. Granted I don't have to pay the television tax, income tax, tobacco tax, property tax, county tax, etc. The British even pay for the museums I enjoy for free!
