Open Systemic Fraud in Minnesota Senate Farce
Possibly the scariest aspect of today's Democrats is their increasingly open contempt for the democratic process. The liberal establishment in Minnesota is in the process of taking a Senate seat away from duly elected Norm Coleman and handing it to a slimy, unhinged, foul-mouthed comedian. Via John Lott's Website, here's a vote the Minnesota Canvassing Board changed from a Coleman vote to an Al Franken vote:

This vote is claimed to be for no one:

Another vote for no one:

Why these last two weren't assigned to Franken is unclear.
Apparently Joseph Stalin had it right:
It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.
The left will keep pushing until it encounters resistance. If it doesn't meet with some soon, we're going to find ourselves in the Soviet Union II.
On a tip from Burning Hot.

Yep, the Left is the Left is the Left. No matter what country no matter what decade no matter what - the Left is the Left is the Left.

Looks like Franken is well on his way to Gregoiring this election.

Where are the lawyers? Can't we fight back Al Gore style? What the hell??
Posted by: Karin at December 22, 2008 11:33 AM
Karin, I agree, but...it seems to be a very difficult endeavour to find a lawyer- let alone a group of them- with the courage and moral fortitude to put up a hard fight (or ANY fight) on behalf of a Conservative cause. It's often said that lawyers are all about money; what they really seem to be more about, by and large, is a move away from the Rule of Law, and a move toward the Law of (Leftist) Rule...with them being the rulers, of course.
I know there are lawyers out there who are good people- they just seem to be extremely scarce.

America is now offically a Third World country with a First World Army. That won't last long either. Nazi Pelosi and Barney Fag are primed to turn our military into a UN Meals On Wheels while the wheels fall off the wagon.

Yet you constantly come to this forum, and post inane leftwing talking points for us to laugh at. And we weren't dethroned, we were beaten by a glamour boy with mass media advantage, and a slew of ignorant american idol style voters. Ignorance is America's most expensive commodity indeed.

No, actually, most people call this sort of thing "fraud"

Republicans lost an election, therefore conservatives are no longer entitled to express an opinion?
For that to be fair, leftist Democrats should still be under the cone of silence despite your guy's win, given your abysmal batting average over the last 30 years.

Guys: The word has come down from on high.
Now that Obama is the President-elect, democracy has been canceled until further notice.
Republicans are no longer entitled to hold an opinion on unrelated senate races, and a clearly marked ballot being discarded or awarded to the candidate whose name is not marked on it, must be accepted as an unremarkable event.

The first ballot shown has been counted (as it should be) for Coleman, Franken's campaign withdrew their challenge of this ballot. The Minnesota Star-Tribune's website incorrectly listed it.

...which leads me to wonder, "why the hell would the Franken campaign have challenged it in the first place?" What, is Mr. Smalley just challenging everything, like flinging crap at a wall to see what sticks? I mean, c'mon!

It's nice to know they realize they're being watched. So what's the challenge on the other two? They look like they've been x'd out? Maybe the voter started out putting x's in the ovals, only then to find out they were supposed to be filled in completely

A lot of the stolen election talk comes from John Lott. John Lott has been famously wrong in the past, and he's wrong about the Coleman-Franken recount. Links:

As one responder wrote, the Minnesota Star-Tribune got the report incorrect on the first ballot. I saw several ballots that were just the opposite reported as votes for Coleman that were clearly for Franken (the paper just managed to get a few of its reports wrong). As for the latter two ballots they are non-votes per the Minnesota rules and it has worked both ways for each candidate. If a voter has indicated all of his/her votes with properly filled circles and then X's through one vote in a particular race, it is considered an intent to revoke that vote. If a voter has merely failed to follow instructions and marks ALL of his/her choices with just Xs or all of the choices are filled in circles with Xs in addition, then those choices would be counted because who would vote all races and then cancel all his/her votes? That is clearly just not following instructions, and the votes ARE counted. However, if all other choices are made properly and an X only shows up in one race, the interpretation is considered to be that the voter was revoking his/her vote or it can't be determined what the voter intended in that race. In that case, it is always considered to be a non-vote under the rules. Thus the examples shown by the writer here are taken out of ocntext and misinterpreted. There is no vote stealing going on in this race. If the writer of the article were being honest, he would have shown the entire ballot in each case (as the newspaper did) and you could see the actual reason for each decision by the canvassing board.
