New Yorkers Say No to Soda Tax

For what it's worth, New Yorkers are overwhelmingly opposed to Governor Paterson's punitive tax on nondiet soda:

The Quinnipiac University poll finds that 60 percent of state residents don't believe the tax should be charged. … Even 58 percent of those who said they prefer diet soda also said they oppose the tax.

But Patterson needn't worry about it. Most voters are also opposed to massive bailouts, surrender to terrorists, partial birth abortion, race quotas, and the deliberate strangulation of the energy industry. Thanks largely to the media, Democrats manage to get elected anyway.

60% don't believe the soda tax is a good idea? 60%. That should be 99% not 60%. Are these New Yorkers so brain dead they'd go 40% for a new tax instead of telling the government to cut the freaking spending? What the hell is going on in tis country? This is just wrong, man.

You're right, that should be 99%, leaving the 1% to the foodpolice moonbats. For what it's worth, I wrote my state legislators telling them what to do with the 88 tax increases. The ones associated with a vehicle are extremely punishing, and will render many people in my neck of the woods car and truck-less if passed. I suppose we would have to go Amish.
I'll tell you where they can cut the freakin spending...it's the overregulation. All the enforcement of all the regulation requires huge bloated staffs with huge bloated benefits and pensions. Friggin control-freak NY government.

Well, let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say that 10% were "undecided" or "no oppinion". But you're right, there should be more opposed to this.

The truth about diet soda

Just because some drinks are low in calories doesn't mean they can't lead to weight gain.

Put that in your bongs and smoke it, Paterson and assorted tax and spend moonbat acolytes.
