Multiculturalism Brings Child Slavery

Yet another example of multiculturalism enriching our society:

The trafficking of children for domestic labor in the U.S. is an extension of an illegal but common practice in Africa. … The custom has led to the spread of trafficking, as well-to-do Africans accustomed to employing children immigrate to the U.S. Around one-third of the estimated 10,000 forced laborers in the United States are servants trapped behind the curtains of suburban homes, according to a study by the National Human Rights Center at the University of California at Berkeley and Free the Slaves, a nonprofit group.

I would point out the downside of child slavery, but I wouldn't want to be judgmental or ethnocentric.

Shyima Hall was a slave to California Egyptians from age 10.

On a tip from V the K.

Because many of these slaves have no way out and don't even know that they have a right to a way out, we have no way to tabulate the exact numbers.

Neighbors should report anything suspicious.

The above mentioned Berkeley and Free the Slaves groups are as usual wounderfully PC. They paint with the broad brush of "Africans" when they should be detailing the Africans of which they speak are North Africans, i.e. Moslems. We aren't talking about Lutherans from Johannesburg here. We're talking about Egypt, Morocco etc. But as V the K stated, we don't want to be percieved as judgmental.

That's exactly right, John. These are Middle Easterners. I read the summary here before clicking on the link, and I just knew that was the case. This has been going on forever. Slavery is still practiced by Muslims.

If you get into a discussion with a Muslim about how awful America is, they will always throw up our terrible history of slavery. Hypocrites. I was married to a middle easterner, and his family still kept them just one generation ago.

Although I have defended Anti-Bellum Southern slavery here and elsewhere on the web, I can't comment on MODERN slavery without using "foul language". But I'll try.

You sometimes hear of illeagal aliens being held in what IS slavery in the U.S.. Not just Mexicans and Jamacans, but Chinese and Russian "brides" who must pay to a criminal syndicate overseas.

The United Nations has said that the last region to end slavery was the Middle east in 1962, but in fact it has only gone underground, or the system was changed.
