I created a special ornament for the first Blackhouse Christmas in 2009. Its basically a Magic 8 Ball with sayings like Blackball Barack, ImPEACH Obama, Black is Whack. I wonder if they will hang it on the tree?

Ha Ha. Must have taken her quite a long time to cut out and glue all of those words into those swirls. "Collage artist" is what she calls herself. More like "crap artist." Immature dolt.

Many people are unable to separate the concept of respect for the office vs. respect for the one holding it. That is, if Michelle Obama asked me next year to make an ornament for the White House tree, I'd be honored. I can't stand either of the Obama's, but being asked by The President('s wife) to contribute to the national Winter Solstice Tree (Christmas being verboten to mention in polite society anymore, though Ramadan or Kwanzaa would be OK) is a great honor and one that should be taken seriously.

But of course the "artist" in question decided it would be better to make an ass of herself and her Congressman, not that he doesn't do a laudable job of that on his own, and make a political statement at a time and place completely inappropriate for such things. The Solstice is supposed to be a time of peace and acceptance, where you and your adversaries lay their differences aside and celebrate together. You can resume beating each others brains out after the holiday season.

As for the ornament itself, my six-year-old niece could have done better.

At 9" diameter, I bet I could nail it easy at 100 yards with my new Browning 30.06 A-bolt Medallion.

First saw this story a couple days ago - and it struck me that this is typical of the attitudes of many on the left.

They're not even particularly riled-up about anything, Bush is on his way out and there's barely been a word from him reported in the news for weeks, they're no longer forcing themselves into artificial outrage and anger over Iraq and Afghanistan since now Obama is taking the wars over they have to be moral and winnable (if not already won)..

And yet there's still this undercurrent of just vicious nastiness, that they can't keep down and don't even seem to be aware of, that they exhibit in just simple everyday facets of life, not in a way that indicates that they're angry, but that political nastiness is just an accepted part of their psyche and it's the most normal thing in the world to display it in random unrelated areas of life, in an obnoxious way.

Like putting text on a Christmas ornament the White House asked you to make which says the President should be impeached, and kinda-sorta hiding it so no-one will know it's there unless they look a bit closer, but at the same time not going to any great length to avoid it being seen.

I'd call it passive-aggressive but it's something more than that, I think.
