Governor Gregoire's Slippery Slope to Insanity
The farce Washington governor Christine Gregoire initiated by allowing militant atheists to put up a sign denouncing Christianity next to the Christmas display in the state capitol has reached a new extreme of tastelessness. Active Democrat and enthusiastic Al Gore supporter Fred Phelps would like to put in his 2¢ too. Via Knowledge Is Power, here's the contribution he wants to make to the Christmas display:

How about it Governor Gregoire? After all, it wouldn't be politically correct to discriminate against non-Christians, and Phelps's cult, despite calling itself the Westboro Baptist Church, is anything but Christian.
Phelps isn't the only one to take up Gregoire on her implicit invitation to ridicule Christmas:
Another Kansas group, the KC Free Thinkers, wants permission to put up a display celebrating a tongue-in-cheek deity named The Flying Spaghetti Monster. In a similar vein, an Olympia man is requesting approval for a celebratory pole in honor of the holiday Festivus, which was invented as part of a "Seinfeld" TV show episode in the late 1990s.
No doubt the objective is to leave only one deity in the end: The State.
On a tip from V the K.

"State officials say that after a lawsuit a couple of years ago to allow the nativity scene, they cannot discriminate among holiday displays."
And this is a holiday display how?

purely satanic. we've been warned about all of this for over two thousand years.

Oh wow, Fred Phelps strikes again. And the sad part is that many secular liberals (who are supposed to be so "well-educated") believe that all conservative Christians are like that.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - State officials, besieged by requests for more seasonal displays at the state Capitol, have approved several more - including a "Festivus" display honoring a faux holiday popularized by TV comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
The new display requests come on top of an anti-religion placard, a Christmas tree and a Christian nativity scene erected earlier this week and a pro-religion sign added Friday.
The state General Administration, which runs the state Capitol building, have OK'd four of the requests so far:
- On Saturday, Dec. 6: A balloon nativity shelter from a private citizen.
- On Sunday, Dec. 7: A demonstration by a group called "Private Citizens of Federal Way" against the atheistic sign will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the front steps.
- On Monday, Dec 8: A display will go up in the capitol from the Washington Values Alliance.
- On Wednesday, Dec 10: A Festivus display from a private citizen. "

"Santa's to blame for the dead soldier's fate..."
Weird, just a few months ago, he said that all our troops dying in Iraq are caused by America's acceptance of the sin of homosexuality, now he's blaming Santa Claus for it?
This guy gives Christians such a bad name, and I'd wholeheartedly agree with Andrew's comment.

Hey, I celebrate Festivus! Now that there is precedent, I'm heading down to City Hall today with my aluminum pole. I hope I don't have to get the ACLU involved, but I will if I have to.

Washington State has become the laughing stock of our Nation. Our Governor is a coward. I wish she would come out from under her desk and have some backbone. Ms. Gregoire your thinking is insane!

When Judgment Day comes, all of these folks who thumb their noses at the Lord will be in for quite a rude awakening.
I am not perfect but I walk with the Lord and honor Him in all that I do. When I falter, I ask His forgiveness, make amends and learn from my errors.
Hopefully, they will see the light before it is too late. I will light a candle for these folks before Mass tonight.
See you guys in a couple of hours.
