Global Warming Blamed for Earthquake, Cold Weather
Are they pretending global warming causes earthquakes now? Or does this article make no sense at all?
Natural disasters killed over 220,000 people in 2008, making it one of the most devastating years on record and underlining the need for a global climate deal … an earthquake shook China's Sichuan province, leaving 70,000 dead, 18,000 missing and almost five million homeless, according to official figures…
To make matters worse,
Around 1,000 people died in a severe cold snap in January in Afghanistan, Kyrgystan and Tajikistan…
Not to worry, moonbat totalitarians have flown to the rescue in their private jets:
Last December, the international community agreed in Bali on a two-year roadmap culminating in a new global climate deal to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Unprecedented in scale and complexity, this accord, due to take effect from 2012, is meant to rein in the greenhouse gases that stoke global warming and throw a lifeline to poor countries exposed to mutated weather patterns.
A deliberately engineered global depression will be just the ticket to stop earthquakes and warming-induced cold.
Hat tip: Notoriously Conservative; on a tip from Burning Hot.

The scary thing is, these guys are going to start enacting legislation that will affect everyone's lives. It's going to cost us, change our standard of living and possibly (if the true believers get their way) actually start to modify the environment.
Bad, bad and really bad.
What about this insanely frigid winter? "One local even doesn't give a true picture of the climate." OK, well, the whole Northern hemisphere is in a deep freeze. "See? That shows Global Warming is changing the climate." But it's freezing. "That's what happens when the earth warms up."
...and these idiots are being appointed to POSITIONS OF POWER AND INFLUENCE by the Obama administration. God help us.

Pixie dust.
No, they didn't snort it, they sprinkled it on a pirate ship like Peter Pan (who probobly had more common sense than they do).

"Natural disasters killed over 220,000 people in 2008, making it one of the most devastating years on record and underlining the need for a global climate deal …"
And the basis for that incredible statement is? And is the numbskull bleating this non sequitur saying that all this disaster is caused by "man-made" global warming (all the while, it's getting colder and colder)? As if there have never been natural disasters before 2008?
Three perfect, and relatively local, examples:
Galveston, 1900
Camille, 1969
And the Dhimmis' favorite, Katrina, just three short years ago. And that's just hurricanes.
Do you really mean, dimwit, that Vesuvius might not have erupted in 79 A.D., if only we would have had a "global climate deal" in place back then?
Can anybody actually be this stoooopid? Yes, apparently . . .

AHH HA HA!!
That is most Monty Python absurd inference I've read in a long time! Must be all the CO2 seeping into the earth.
This alleged journalist should go full tilt into writing comedy.
The UN is always looking for fresh talent.

There is only one complete and exact computer of global climate and that is the planet itself. Results from the planet computer are archived in the Vostok and EPICA ice cores. Global average temperature anomalies and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have been extracted from these ice cores and are widely available. Repeatedly during the last and previous glacial periods, a temperature increasing trend changed to a decreasing trend with the atmospheric carbon dioxide level higher during the temperature down-trend than it had been when the temperature trend was increasing. Alarmists are unaware of that part of science that proves, using the archived data, that added atmospheric carbon dioxide can not cause significant global warming. Any action that is taken to reduce human produced carbon dioxide to reduce global warming is a mistake and puts freedom and prosperity at risk.

I'd like to see how the climahysterics spin the fact that the earthquake which caused the most deaths (830k) occured in 1556 during the Little Ice Age. 6 of the top 21 occured during the LIA. That we know about, of course. A bunch of others where during the global climate optimum. I wonder what kinds of SUVs they had back then?

Back from the 1500s to the 1800s in england they used to have what they called FROST FAIRS the last one was held in about the 1850s

I remember seeing something about them on Nat Geographic or History or some channel like that a couple months ago, where they would have the fairs on the ice on the Thames.

It's scary how much this sounds like something out of Michael Crichton's State of Fear.
