Even Elton John Opposes Homosexual Marriage
It isn't just the mostly Democrat voters of California who oppose the gratuitous sacrilege of homosexual marriage. So does flamboyantly gay pop star Elton John:
I don't want to be married. I'm very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership. The word "marriage," I think, puts a lot of people off.
You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships.
But of course, civil partnerships don't afford as many opportunities to bash Mormons or poke civilization in the eye.

Actually most homosexuals are fine with civil unions with the same legal rights as marriage - its only the radicals that want to "be married" just so they can poke their fingers in the eyes of heterosexuals.

Wait. I thought he claimed that his ~partner~ was his husband? I even recall hearing that they had a "wedding".

Wedding, partner, husband~ it's all the same when you get down to it.

No Big_Daddy, it's NOT all the same when you get down to it...and that's one of the reasons to keep it separate. You've just proved it. When you start to water down the meaning of things, it becomes "ahh, so what..."
Once the foundations of civilization become weakened and meaningless, guess what happens next? Do you have enough critical thinking skills to follow that through?
Something is moving among us that is actively trying to send society into chaos and anarchy. Ever wonder who or what that is?

Your right matt I should have watched my tounge. But what I was saying is that both wedding and civil union is the same damn thing. They just want us to call it a 'wedding', no matter how odd the... um... what are they calling themselves?

Double-checked it on wikipedia, it's a civil partnership and he's referred to as a partner. They had a civil celebration, not a wedding.

Well, yeah. Except that it's completely different - as Elton John just told you. It's extremely important to many people to keep the difference in status between heterosexual marriage and civil unions between homosexuals, to maintain the idea of the sanctity of marriage and the idea that homosexuality is an alternative lifestyle, not a naturally-occuring, biological imperative. And that's precisely what Prop 8 opponents and LGBT activist types are trying to destroy - as admitted by Elton John - because in fact they can get the same exact legal rights as a heterosexual couple via civil union. Hence, yeah, it is important.

OK Big_Daddy, I think I get your point. If I've got you right, you're saying they're getting what they want from a domestic partnership anyhow, so why get so upset over calling it "marriage", correct?
IF that's what you mean, then the point is made: there must be other reasons...and there are. Among them, to get the law on their side vis a vis "marriage". Then get the churches to either cave in and "marry" them or face legal action. After that, to get the churches to stop preaching than homosexuality is a sin, or (again) face legal nightmares. They want to tear society and civilization as we know it down.
It goes

One thing that is under-appreciated about moonbattery.com is Van's ability to find pictures that sum up the moonbattiness of each topic absolutely perfectly - it constantly amazes me.
