If you follow polls, Obama has 87% approval of his transition performance compared to 65% for Bush, 67% for Clinton. This guy could be as popular Kennedy. Obamalot.

Lots of Presidents start out with high approval ratings then reality sets in. Both Bush's once had over 90% approval ratings.

Obama has the media on his side, spinning everything as 100% positive. Its no suprise his approval rating is high since he hasnt really done anything yet, except toss names around. Obama is more like Bush than most want to admit - both men want people to like them. Problem is when you try to please everyone all the time, you end up pleasing almost no one. Obama is trying to government from the center-right but thats not who he really is. Kennedy was always honest about who he was and stuck to his principles.

87% is pretty impressive. I don't think you can give the press that credit. Bush's approval was only high after the trauma of 9/11. His father's during the Gulf War. Everything was downhill after that.
