The One Falls Behind in Zogby Poll

At the sinister urging of the liberal establishment media, America has loaded a gun and pressed the barrel to its temple. But it hasn't pulled the trigger. According to Zogby, McCain outpolled the Moonbat Messiah 48% to 47% on Friday.

As we've learned, polls consistently exaggerate the Democrat vote. Considering that, the Bradley effect, and the tendency of people who put guns to their heads to think better of it and put the gun back down again, and Obama's ACORN thugs are going to have to cheat like wildfire to guarantee a win.

Despite what the Obamunist media would have you believe, it ain't over until it's over.

America can still put the gun down.

Hat tip: Stop the ACLU.

Obamunists urged to tattoo numbers on their forearms. The creepy cult of the Obamassiah is now imitating the Nazis, or maybe the anti-Christ.

I'd feel better if I was hearing this from Rasmussen or Gallup - Zogby has the worst track record in the business. Still, other polls are showing a tightening race. With any luck, enough Americans will wake up and do the right thing on Tuesday.

I guess this one isn't quite as funny to me. I've known people who have put a gun to their head and pulled the trigger. Sitting beside a widow and her kids at the funeral isn't anything I want to repeat. In another case, trying to find something to say to older parents in church after their only child does this isn't a joke either.

I know they could have used a rope, or a running engine, or a dozen other methods. But they did use a gun. I really don't want guns banned. But, I also don't want anybody to think this is funny.

You are exactly right, though! If America were a single living person, this would illustrate the present situation.

I don't see the gun metaphor as humorous and I don't think VH meant it to be.
I do see it as an appropriate metaphor for what's happening in America.

I've been saying for weeks that people should just ignore the polls. The problem with polls is that they are often too random and unreliable. The only polls to trust are the ones after all the results are tallied up.

Jim, Single Stack, just to confirm: this metaphor was in no way meant to be funny. Suicide isn't a laughing matter, and neither is the prospect of left-wing radicals being handed control of our government.

Van

Okay. I am very much in agreement that it will be a true horror show if the radicals take over. Most of my contributions have been along those lines.

My over reaction to the picture has to do with some extremely terrible things that happened on different occasions to people I cared about. They hurt and will continue to hurt like open wounds the rest of my life. I have come to know that my experience is not unusual and that many, many people have brushed against suicide by gunfire.

I know and appreciate your work and I know you meant no harm.

I don't know. This is from a San Diego paper:

UNION-TRIBUNE

November 2, 2008

Some of the hardiest American political traditions come out, on schedule, during the final weekend of a presidential campaign. And they are the best indicators of which candidate is losing:

*The declaration that the only poll that counts is the one taken when Americans trek to the polls on Election Day.

*The recollection that the polls and the pundits buried Harry Truman both prematurely and incorrectly back in 1948.

*The declaration that the only poll that counts is the one taken when Americans trek to the polls on Election Day.

But this is absolutely true, regardless of who says it, or when.

Polls do not report raw numbers, but massaged numbers, with "correction factors" for, e.g., party demographics in that area, likelihood of voting, etc. Why anyone takes them seriously is anyone's guess. Change the "correction factors" and you can get any result you like.
