Own a Piece of a Train Wreck
For the Obamunist who has everything:

An alternative product that you might find more useful:

The historical Obamania coffee mugs will make great conversation pieces after putting a sophomoric Marxist in charge of the economy during a recession inevitably leads to economic disaster.

Strange (or perhaps not so strange) that the LA Slimes picked a photo of His Enormity with the wife and kids, since he packed 'em all off the stage almost immediately upon descending from Heaven and beginning his (yet another one) boring acceptance speech. Don't see his brilliant pick for veep, Plugs Biden, in the photo, either. Guess he was locked in the bar after all . . .
Slimes: you might should have chosen a shot of the adoring Obamatron drones (those special ones inside the fence, of course; the others, packed like sardines on the outside of the "special" fence, are all basically scum to His Enormity), particularly when he started talking about "sacrifice" -- the looks on the faces of the special 'trons ("Huh? Me, sacrifice?") was priceless. Ah, well, they (and we) will discover the cost soon enough, now . . .

Among many of the things I've saved in a box (because I consider them "of interest" to my great-grand kids who will somday clean out my attic), are many newspaper front page sections.
My favorite is "CLINTON IMPEACHED".
I also saved the headlines of local papers on 9/12/01. I consider 11/5/08 headlines equally devastating; a turning point where things go from bad to worse. Perhaps the ultimate end of freedom as I know it.

Every day I wake up with one thought in my head: "We're so f*cked!" No matter how the press spins it, I just can't get past my dismay. Maybe because I read the headlines, am a student of history and read everything I can find on the net about Oprahma.
I have this persistent feeling that this election was a huge coup for very dark forces that want to destroy this country and enslave us. Then again, maybe I am wrong and Oprahma will spread the wealth and we will all be singing kumbaya.

hana - I occasionally have similar conspiracy theory-like thoughts - after all the entire anti-war, "peace," anti-nuclear, wealth-spreading movement in the 60s was in contact with the KGB and for who knows how long. But if you think about it it's more likely that there is no Giant Conspiracy per se, rather the One's election despite all his gaffes economic and otherwise, and the incredibly widespread wilfull ignorance regarding his real positions on just about every issue, his past associations, even the very words that he speaks when not reading a pre-written speech, for crying out loud, are the manifestation of a mindless but united enterprize by the left - in America and elsewhere - basically since the end of WW2 and especially beginning in earnest in the 60s. Completely unsurprisingly, widespread denouncement of the very basic principles of Christianity have resulted in a huge section of the population filling the "derity gap" in their lives with, well, themselves, setting themselves and their movement up as all-powerful and doing whatever is necessary and whatever they can think of to promote it. Their movement is humanism - we are all human and within all of us is the temptation to believe that we personally know what is good and right for everyone else and thus the temptation to work to force others to live as we wish. Basically every modern society that has rejected Christianity - or at least an adherence to the Judeo-Christian values set that grew from it - has ended up this way, in economic ruin, so cluttered with special interests it is unable to function, and so unmindful of concepts like productivity, morality, humility in the face of our human failings, and everything else that Judeo-Christian traditions give us that it falls over itself in its haste to turn reality on its end and ends up tearing itself apart.

I notice no one ever wanted a headline announcing that bush won in 2000 or 2004. Oh, that's right, in 2000 he didn't really win.
Good thing Obama is going to appoint THREE LIBERAL Supreme Court justices to make sure that doesn't happen for a loooong time!
All you people have left is arrogance. Enjoy the days until Jan 20th. After that you'll be living under LIBERAL rule.
Pity that your guys screwed up so badly. They say republicans will be out of power for a generation or more and that the only way they'll get back any power is to become more LIBERAL! Isn't that a freakin' HOOT?

Posted by: Dino at November 15, 2008 11:54 PM
Arrogance? ARROGANCE Dino? If you bother to find out the facts, you might discover that the election of 2000 was almost stolen by Gore. After five (count 'em, five) recounts, and innumerable analyses by the likes of the New York Times, Washington Post, etc., they still couldn't get a count that let Gore win!
Give it up. You lost. Take it like a man and stop whining like a pussy.
This is classic. Libs always present bald-faced lies as truth, screech like banshees, and expect us all to be sheeple and accept it. Let me ask you, Dino, who is this "they" in "they say republicans will be out of power for a generation"? Are "they" total idiots? I lived through the travesty that was the Carter administration, I know what we're in for.
Bottom line: Obama = one term, lame duck after the mid-terms in 2010. He'll do a lot of damage, but most people aren't that stupid to continue to give him power. First "African-American" (actually more Arab than Negro, but I digress) President in our lifetimes. Historic. Also the LAST African-American President we'll see in our lifetimes. An historic failure.
I hope for your parent's sake they're not relying on any kind of retirement account... even if the '0' doesn't steal it outright, it'll be worth half as much after 4 years of the Zero.
I've seen this movie before. Don't like the ending.

You guys are doing a really good job of passing your hatred down to your children. Here's a story from worldnetdaily on school children in Idaho chanting "assasinate Obama"
http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80847
There has also been incidents of cross burnings, death threats, and property destruction taking place against Obama supporters in conservative regions.
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iEyLuiVkdd-f1RM5wnoR0kF4WbvgD94FQJKG0
Have you guys ever considered the backlash that will occur should your plan of goading your most volitile of members into assasinating Obama (oh, I'm sorry "black Hitler."). You were so afraid of rioting if McCain were to have one. can you FATHOM what will happen here if he gets killed?
We are all Americans, for God's sakes! What's wrong with this country that this kind of hatred is being embraced by our children?
If there is anyone I am afraid of trying a Holocaust in this country, it is definitely the far right.

"You can plan for the next five years, rather than the next five months," Hiller said at the meeting, according to people who were there. But he also said that the newspaper was going ahead with planned staff reductions, which are expected to cut $7.5 million in costs, but have served as a flash point for controversy in the newsroom.
Like most major U.S. newspapers, The Los Angeles Times has been losing circulation. The last figures by the Audit Bureau of Circulation, in late October, showed that The Times had lost 8 percent of its daily circulation - down to 776,000 subscribers - and 6 percent on Sunday, down to 1.17 million subscribers. The decreases were higher than the national average of 2.8 percent.
The New York Times is one the exchange so it has a listed stock price.

Poor Hiram is confused!
You say my retirement funds will lose value under Obama? Obviously, you haven't checked your statements lately. Most have ALREADY lost 30-40% of their value thanks to 30 years of pursuing conservative, free-market policies. Do you not read the papers? Can you read?
If you lived through Carter and blame him for anything then you were born in 1975 making you too young to remember anything. Carter took office after 8 years of Nixon/Ford recessions and economic upheaval. That deep, ugly, long recession in 74? TWO YEARS before Carter took office. The first gas lines? 1973, FOUR YEARS before Carter took office. See, all recessions occur under REPUBLICANS. This one that just started, UNDER BUSH (his second!) is going to be very painful.
And you know who people blame? REPUBLICANS! You know why? Because for the last 30 years they have set the agenda and set the policies that caused us so much harm.
Cling to the fantasies of a comeback that you see in that crystal ball of yours. The reality will be more like what happened when the republicans gave us the Great Depression: they'll be out of power for generations as they were back then. Meanwhile, the liberals will reverse as much of the past 30 years as they can. They'll have lots of success. People in deep economic pain tend to clamor for socialist policies.
Go check out how far republicans dropped in the late 1930s. Down to 19% by 1938 of Congress and shut out of the White House for over 20 years.
I find it hilarious how you people think Obama will be a failure and fail to realize what a mess your party has caused. It's almost like you're in denial about why you lost this election so badly. It was because your guys FAILED and they failed BIG. Really BIG.

Who wants to shut down any and all dissent in this country (Dissent? Hell, mere discussion of conservative values is about to be a "hate" crime. "Fairness" doctrine sound familiar?)? Who wants $850 billion (with a "b") over 10 years thrown away on world-wide "end the poverty" programs -- meaning, padding the Swiss/Cayman Island bank accounts of fellow thugs and dictators (like Der Fuehrer, our President-Elect, who has no desire to be merely president, when Caesar -- as in "Hail, Caesar! I've seen that stupid arguement about the cities being liberal and then blaming liberalism for the mess in some cities. How disingenuous.
CITIES DON'T MAKE ECONOMIC POLICY. Cities are victims of bad economic policies, most recently those of the CONSERVATIVES. Notice how the rapid decline of the industrial cities coincides with the rise of conservatism since the late 70s? Reagan HATED the cities and cut funding for anything urban to punish the liberals who live in cities. But surprise! We survived and now the population centers, including the suburbs, HATE REPUBLICANS. Can you blame them? The neglect of the cities has affected the suburbs now, too.
All republicans have left are ignorant, uneducated rural folk. Southern at that. But even there, urbanization is swinging them ot the LEFT as evidenced by Obama's win in NC and VA. What happens to the republican party of bottom-feeders now? What other slimey groups can you absorb in your big tent of greed and fear? You already have the stupid people and the racists.
Posted by: Dino at November 16, 2008 1:17 PM
Actually, Dino, I didn't say your retirement account would lose value. I was inferring that you'd lose it entirely after the Obamessiah confiscates and/or nationalizes it.
To blame Republicans and the free market for a crisis caused by Democrat meddling in the free market since your hero Jimmy "Great National Malaise" Carter was buggering us all with his socialist crap... well, that's just ignorant.
I also fail to see how 52/48 is "failing big". Remember the election of 1980? Which state (singular) did Carter carry again?

When you consider The One had the entire mainstream news and entertainment media cheering for him, and (by violating his promise to use public financing) outspent his opponent 10-to-1, and considering his opponent was an out-of-touch, coot despised by the base of his own party... a 52-to-48 win isn't that impressive.
It's like having the Pittsburgh Steelers beating a Pee Wee team by 52 to 58. Nothing to brag about.
Posted by: V the K at November 16, 2008 1:53 PM
I like the way they think we're all some kind of McCain fanbois, or Bushies for that matter. "We" haven't had a horse in the race since when? i still blame the election on the ones that stayed home, remember, there *was not* a record turnout overall, but there *was* among the koolaid drinkers.
I still think the obama presidency is going to be the shortest path back to a Republican congress. unfortunately, as with bubba, he'll get credit for the peace and prosperity that results and maybe a second term. I'm still gonna print bumber stickers that say "Wish you'd voted for McCain yet?" because I'm absolutely confident I'll be wanting one.
Posted by: Mr Evilwrench at November 16, 2008 3:34 PM
We never have 70/30 elections. Ever. 52/48 is huge when you consider SEVEN MILLION more people voted for Obama, he got a HUGE electoral vote majority and pulled a bunch of red states to the blue side.
Obama didn't outspend McCain 10:1 either. The RNC outspent the DNC on McCain's behalf too.
You think Obama will make a republican Congress possible? Think again. The economic collapse that just got started is branded with "Property of the Republican Party" just like the Great Depression was when we kept conservatives out of power for most of wonderful years.
You people have NOTHING but FAILURE. The mess caused by conservatism is going to sink the republicans for GENERATIONS.

"I notice no one ever wanted a headline announcing that bush won in 2000 or 2004. Oh, that's right, in 2000 he didn't really win."
~What? You, as an Obama supporter, are going to bring up questions of voter authenticity in this election? Just spare yourself.
"Good thing Obama is going to appoint THREE LIBERAL Supreme Court justices to make sure that doesn't happen for a loooong time!"
~What are they going to prevent? Please tell us what agenda you're looking forward to.
"All you people have left is arrogance. Enjoy the days until Jan 20th. After that you'll be living under LIBERAL rule."

~I don't have much of a defense. Bush was essentially ruinous. Not a fiscal conservative. His policies of compassionate conservatism were irresponsible. That's not to say there isn't a place for governmental involvement in charity work, but it can be done more effectively through the private sector.
I have to warn you, though, about your apparent submittal to the "they" of the "that's what they say." What if Obama's and the Democratic Party's solutions to our economic and societal situations prove to be ineffective or counter-productive? Beyond the most recent talking points, what do you see as the most important issues, and solutions?

Perfect example of conservative arrogance: You run the country for most of the last 15 years, completely for most of the last 8 and the result is an economic meltdown. But of course it's not your fault. No, it was sunspots or "the business cycle". And your loss at the ballot box on November 4th? Simple. It was fraud. Why else would the people reject conservatism and republicans?
You people are BLIND. As BLIND as you are ignorant of reality.
Another typical faulty conservative rationalization: When your leaders FAIL (a common occurrence) they weren't conservative enough or they weren't "real" conservatives. That way, you never really fail, right?
Anything Obama and the dems do is a step up from where we are. That's the beauty of taking over a republican-inspired train wreck.
What would I do? On Jan 21st I would convene Congressional hearings and trials for Wall Street CEOs, bond rating agencies and any other scum republicans that hadn't fled the country. There would be trials and enormous fines and long prison sentences. That would restore some confidence in the markets. WIthout stiff punishments for the crooks there's no trust that it won't happen again right away. (We all know it WILL happen again someday, when future generation believe the greedy conservatives of that day and return republicans to power to destroy the economy.) I would confiscate the wealth of as many of the perpetrators as possible.
If I was a democrat in Congress I would keep branding this meltdown as a REPUBLICAN RECESSION and whip the people into a frenzy of hate for all things conservative so that republicans will face huge obstacles to regaining a footing in this culture ever again.

Please ask me to list the dozens of Democrat leaders that have been shown to be criminals yet are re-elected consistently. Republicans, on the other hand, when they are shown to be worthless, are handed their pink slips. Want some examples?
"Anything Obama and the dems do is a step up from where we are. That's the beauty of taking over a republican-inspired train wreck."

You have admitted that you would be not only disingenous, but outright slanderous by doing everything you can to make sure Republicans are never elected again. Yeah, show trials and wealth confiscation. But he's NOTHING LIKE Stalin or Hitler, you know.
Dude, the perpetrators are right there in Congress right now, at least the latest wave of them. We've seen the video; Democrat after Democrat after Democrat, all bitching that there's nothing wrong with the oversight of financial institutions, all of them heavily on the take. Then there's Carter (pardon me while I spit), and Clinton ("Carter Lite") forcing the banks to make untenable loans if they want to stay in business at all. Repeating the lie over and over again until it becomes accepted as truth doesn't work so well when you've got video to disprove it.
Here's a little tid-bit from that well-know bastion of conservatism, Wikipedia:
In 2003, the Bush administration recommended a significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry. However, many Democrats opposed that regulation fearing that tighter regulation could sharply reduce financing for low-income housing, both low and high risk. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow stated that Congress should remove the president's power to appoint directors to Fannie Mae. [14]
In 2006, Senator McCain joined as a co-sponsor to the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 (first put forward by Sen. Charles Hagel [R-NE])[15] where he pointed out that Fannie Mae's regulator reported that profits were "illusions deliberately and systematically created by the company's senior management".[16] However, this regulation too met with opposition from many Democrats. Thus, Congressional Democrats repeatedly fought back Republican efforts to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.[17]
You also have to include in the list of "perpetrators" your own Mom and Dad. Yep, if they have a 401k, an IRA, a moneymarket account, or even a union pension, then they probably own oil companies and credit card companies and insurance companies and even banks that make shitty loans. Every decision that they've made about finances, combined with all the other Moms and Dads in the country, have led us here. Mom and Dad are evil ol' capitalist exloiters! Off with their heads!

Dino's argument perspective is the one we all had in college. With so little life experience Dino cannot be expected to understand why everyone becomes conservative later on - I sure didn't.
Unable to explain why conservatives are the way they are Dino must grab at the closest straws, and that would be the current economic meltdown. A deep youthful swig of Kool-Aid has prevented him from finding that his own side: Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and the Black Congressional Caucus started the Fannie Mae debacle that unleashed the avalanche. By screwing with the free market to buy Dem votes.
I find it a lot more fun to troll Lib blogs than it would be for a Lob to troll Repub blogs. On conservative blogs the Lib troller is not nearly as rewarded. He'll encounter mostly dry, factual rebuttals to his incoherent BDS ravings. ON the other side of the coin when trolling HuffPo I can get called a Nazi in one post just for mentioning accountability and self-reliance.

Quotes from Dino:
"I would confiscate the wealth of as many of the perpetrators as possible.
If I was a democrat in Congress I would keep branding this meltdown as a REPUBLICAN RECESSION and whip the people into a frenzy of hate for all things conservative so that republicans will face huge obstacles to regaining a footing in this culture ever again."
Let's start a blog about these guys. We'll call it... hmmm.... Moonbattery!

Fannie & Freddie were a symptom of the problem, not the cause.
I guess you brainstems missed the story about how efforts to rein in Fannie & Freddie were derailed by a republican lobbying firm that targeted 17 REPUBLICANS to kill regulation?
AP IMPACT: Mortgage firm arranged stealth campaign
WASHINGTON – Freddie Mac secretly paid a Republican consulting firm $2 million to kill legislation that would have regulated and trimmed the mortgage finance giant and its sister company, Fannie Mae, three years before the government took control to prevent their collapse.
In the cross hairs of the campaign carried out by DCI of Washington were Republican senators and a regulatory overhaul bill sponsored by Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. DCI's chief executive is Doug Goodyear, whom John McCain's campaign later hired to manage the GOP convention in September.
And really now, do you expect people to believe republicans wanted more regulation of anything involving making money? LOL, that's rich!
Try again, brainstems. Now I see how it is you lost it all. Your grip on reality is tenuous at best.

It's too bad that republicans are so thick they can't distinguish between a candidate winning an election due to majority voting and the bullying of a smaller group and taking away their rights by the majority.
Besides, the electoral college evens the playing field for stupid republicans. Wyoming with it's 435K inhabitants gets 3 electoral votes. If it were proportional to population, california with 36 million people would get 248 electoral votes, not just 55 and you people would NEVER win an election again.

And If I were in Congress I would play this video every time you try and blame this on Republicans. I wouldn't have the added commentary, I would just stand up right after Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Meeks, or any of the others spoke and replay their words.

Who says its a "right" of homosexuals to marry? What about polygamy? What about NAMBLA promoting marriage between men and boys? What about man and ape? Men and apes are 99% genetically similar.
America is going the way of the Greek and Roman empires. As America descends further into depravity it will collapse from within. The Muslim fanatics dont need to destroy us - we are doing it ourselves.
