Oooh, the Obamunists are not going to like that picture. Kidden just peed his pants again. Shana is wondering how she can interpret this the wrong way. And doG had to kill in sick to his job at Kinko's. 'Course, he woulda done that anyway.

I know there has been a lot of worrying among conservatives that Obama's presidency will poorly affect military recruitment. I would like to give my reasons for why I do not think this is true:

Americans are very quick to point out that African Americans are only a small percentage of the population but a large amount of the jail population. Yet no one seems to like to give them the credit that they make up a hugely disproportionate % of the military as well, especially among women.

The army has had increasingly dire recruitment numbers for the last few years, and internal army reports largely attribute this to the fact that the vast majority of African Americans oppose the war in Iraq on moral grounds. Though African American recruitments surged after 9/11, they dropped to dangerously low levels after the start of Iraq. Re-enlistment of soldiers of all kinds also has been dangerously low in the last few years, requiring stop loss policies to be enacted.

Of course, plenty of non blacks oppose this particular war as well. There are news reports already that military recruiters are making the fact that we will be pulling out of Iraq their main selling point. If you get sent anywhere, it will be Afghanistan, where the battles are not morally ambiguous.

There definitely will be those that do not enlist because they do not like/trust Obama. But any news report I have heard which interviewed actual military recruiters said that they expect both first time and re enlisters to INCREASE overall.

Which begs the question- say this trend continues, and Republicans decrease their numbers in the military while women, blacks, and other minorities become increasingly represented in the military. This COULD possibly result in the army being primarily made up of Democrat and indenepdent pro Obama people in the next few years. IF that happened- and this is PURELY hypothetical, would it be your group's contention that soldiers are no longer patriotic Americans?

Notice to Trolls:

The Dry Cleaner called and your new crop of "Brown Shirts" are ready for you to pick up just in time for the Coronation, oops, I mean the Inaugural Ceremony!

Posted by: HoosierArmyMom at November 11, 2008 9:46 AM

No airborne, that would not be the contention. My son is a conservative Libertarian and is going to take the ASFAB and enlist in the Air Force soon. My oldest is in the Army Airborne. Politics is not the driving force behind one enlisting in the armed forces, the desire to serve one's country and honor seem to be the driving force. It takes a great deal of patriotism and love of country to cut that check to your country that says you are willing to pay "up to giving your life" (regardless of your political views) for your country, so anyone who serves is a patriot.

This is not far from the future. The is probably going to be the new national civil police uniform.

I hope the Bush staffer wont remove the O's from their keyboards like the Clinton/Gore people did with the W's. Instead they should just put a black piece of duct tape over them.

On another note, Google finally decided its patriotic to support the troops - only after Obama won.

Looks like Obama may have to reinstitute the draft.

When I think of President Obama as my commander-in-chief . . .

I'm filled with pride. I look forward to serving under him.
19%
I'm worried and doubt I'll re-up when my time comes.
53%
I'm ready to salute and follow his orders.
27%

Considering the economy, it wont be anywhere near 53% but even if its under 25%, it could cause a huge manpower shortage.

SONGS CELEBRATING OUR VETERANS

SONGS OF THOSE WHO SERVED, OUR VETERANS

Ever wonder who wrote the “Marine’s Hymn” or “Anchors Away” and who designated them as the “official” songs of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy, respectively?

As we honor the millions of men and women who have served our nation in war and peace over the generations, it’s worth a few moments to read the brief histories of those songs as well as the songs of the United States Army, “The Army Goes Rolling Along,” our Air Force, “The U.S. Air Force,” and the Coast Guard, “Semper Paratus:” http://www1.va.gov/opa/feature/celebrate/milsongs.asp.

For those with an interest in the lyrics and perhaps singing along, see: http://www.butlerwebs.com/holidays/starspangledbanner.htm.

November 11th is a day to honor and to pay our respects to all those who served.

May God bless them all.

Interesting times ahead watching Clintons vs. Obama's. If Obama forks over the cash, all will be forgiven - sort of.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/15498

"It’s the latest phase in the ruling-class soap opera that is the Obama-Clinton alliance, where the two first families negotiate new personal relationships as Hillary Clinton wrestles with her own ambivalence about Michelle Obama’s husband, a man she once ridiculed as too callow to govern, and then worked tirelessly to elect.

These tensions have created a somewhat schizoid relationship between Clinton and the Obamas – warm on personal matters, warier on political ones, and downright frosty on the still-unresolved issue of Clinton’s mountainous campaign debt, which Barack Obama had pledged to help reduce."

"Bill Clinton, who once called Obama’s Iraq policy “a fairy tale,” hosted about 20 events for Obama after the Illinois senator paid homage to him with a mid-September visit to his Harlem office. "

There would be a reason for that Mr. Concern Troll "Airborne", that reason being that your statement is crap.

The percentage of all races mirrors closely the racial percentage of all Americans. Not that you will educate yourself, but you might want to read this - be warned, it debunks nearly every one of your lefty memes about the military:

Moonbattery has exposed our secret diabolical plot! They must be stopped! They must have seen our draft Democratic Manifesto summarized here:

First on that agenda, we are going to isolate every registered Republican. Then we're going confiscate all your guns and shoot you (only once, small caliber) in your head. Then we'll give you each a bill for $120,000 (or foreclose on your home) for repayment of Republican national debt with interest and send you to a slave labor camp in Kanas to actually work it off growing public weed we will give to your children along with condoms upon entrance into Kindergarden. Once that's paid, we will then intern you all to a gay re-education camp in upper Saskatchewan (Canadian socialist immigration trade) where we will abort all your unborn children, convert you to Islam then to atheism before we lastly, sodomize you all.

In all seriousness, I would urge you to feather the "Obama as Hitler" theme. One of the really annoying things about lefties was their constantly equating Bush to Hitler. Both equations are ridiculous, hyperbolic, and inappropriate, in my opinion.

HOMOSEXUALITY IN AMERICA PART THREE–WHAT DO GAYS WANT?

Sigmund Freud famously asked the question, obviously in frustration, “What do women want?”

He never did an answer to his query although I would suggest that most women would respond with either, “You have to ask?” or, “It’s none of your business!” or, “We want you to stop asking stupid questions, that’s what!”

Personally, I wouldn’t dare to even ask such a loaded question.

Making an educated guess in answer to the question, “What do gays want?” I would say, first and foremost, to be accepted. Whether that response involves acceptance as normal, or as a variation on the norm, or simply as people I wouldn’t venture to say but that isn’t really relevant since gays, homosexuals, lesbians have been well on their way to societal acceptance at all levels for some three decades now.

Whether that’s a good thing or not is another question. I’ll save my answer to that for another day.

Today’s topic demands an understanding of how gays got to this point in the first place. Over half a century ago, Karen Hooker conducted a study on biological determinism which many believe led to “normalizing” homosexuality, (http://mybitchingarea.blogspot.com/2006/09/nature-vs-nature.html), which isn’t quite true.

In fact, the American Psychiatric Association, the APA,... (Read the rest of this article at http://genelalor.com/.)

Liberals MUST abandon "Afirmative Action"!

If they don't, they will have to say that Obama became president because of it. If they say that he did so ON HIS OWN, the Liberals will have to admit that Afirmative Action has served it's purpose and can be done away with.

Liberals have repetedly claimed that "minorities" can't get along without government help. This was the same arguement that was used for COLONIALISM!

The army has had increasingly dire recruitment numbers for the last few years, and internal army reports largely attribute this to the fact that the vast majority of African Americans oppose the war in Iraq on moral grounds.

You are full of sh!t. African Americans, latinos and poor inner-city dwellers are DISPROPORTIONATELY UNDER-REPRESENTED in the Armed Forces.

Recruitment numbers falling? Oh it must be a symptom of a MORAL STANCE. It couldn't be that people - including some of the African Americans who are under-represented to begin with - thought the Army was a good idea until they realised they'd have to go to war. It must be a BRAVE STANCE AGAINST OPPRESSION OF IRAQIS AND MUSLIMS IN GENERAL.

Oh and if recruitment numbers jump after Obama surrenders Iraq to the Mahdi army and Al Qaeda it won't be because freeloaders jumped back on board. It will be because the Army will be a moral humanitarian institution under his wise guidance.

Any "African American" who quit the service to avoid going to Iraq shames and diminishes the service and the good name of black American soldiers who risked their lives to serve their country's needs.

Though African American recruitments surged after 9/11, they dropped to dangerously low levels after the start of Iraq. Re-enlistment of soldiers of all kinds also has been dangerously low in the last few years, requiring stop loss policies to be enacted.

Wow did you just read Sean Penn's blog? Falling recruitment numbers in a time of war is symptomatic of how badly your idiotic moonbattery has festered - to the point where your treachery and cowardice have even poisoned some in the armed forces. Oh and don't think those who actually DO serve will miss having freeloading cowardly snakes who cut and run at the first sign of trouble responsible for guarding their backs in a war zone.

SAUDI-WAHHABI-ISLAMIC HYPOCRISY

“Saudi King Promoting Faith Dialogue Should Look Closer to Home, Critics Say,” reads a headline on CNS: http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=39122.

The article goes on to say that “critics of the Saudi regime say King Abdullah should be challenged on religious repression at home,” but gives few particulars on that oppression aside from mentioning that “public practice of non-Muslim religion is outlawed, and Jews and Christians are regularly vilified in sermons by state-funded imams,” and that ”Apostasy – the act of leaving Islam for another faith – carries the death penalty.”

That is not to say that the CNS piece, which focuses on a planned United Nations religious conference, lets Abdullah and his Wahhabi brand of Islam off scot free of condemnation but it barely scratches the sand off the surface Islam’s hypocrisy.

Words and conferences are cheap and sometimes intended more for public consumption and international prestige than for actual substance. Actions, and inactions, usually better describe the true nature of a people and of a religion.

Case in point is this documented anecdote from my book:

“Many observers have refuted the idea that Muslim declarations that theirs is a religion of peace and good will to all. I imagine many Muslims throughout the globe believe they’re peaceful and holy people. After all, Islam has more holy cities, holy shrines, holy mosques, holy days, probably a slew of holy molies as well, than we can count on an abacus. That must prove Islam loves peace.

“Maybe not. One has to question the precepts of any religion that values the segregation of young girls...

After socialism, 100-million killing atheism is next on agenda

Ads proclaiming, "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake," will appear on Washington, D.C., buses starting next week and running through December. The American Humanist Association unveiled the provocative $40,000 holiday ad campaign Tuesday.
In lifting lyrics from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," the Washington-based group is wading into what has become a perennial debate over commercialism, religion in the public square and the meaning of Christmas.

"We are trying to reach our audience, and sometimes in order to reach an audience, everybody has to hear you," said Fred Edwords, spokesman for the humanist group. "Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

[Yo, it ain't called MARXmas.]

CONSPIRATORS, THY NAMES ARE RAHM AND OBAMA

The left, the liberals, the Democratic Party like to dismiss us conservatives as paranoiacs who used to see a Commie under every bed and who now see some kind of whacko conspirator under every futan.

As usual, they happen to be wrong and not only because there’s no room under a futan for conspirators to hide and conspire.

There certainly are whacko conspirators out there but there’s no need for them to hide anywhere anymore. As of November 4th, 2008, they’ve been packing their bags for D.C. where they will soon ensconce themselves in powerful positions in the Obama/Change administration.

If one defines the word “conspirator” as a person who conspires, plots, schemes for radical changes in the status quo, no one fits that definition better than Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s Chief of Staff designee and fellow Chicagoan. He goes by the nickname, Rahmbo, and is known for his partisan viciousness.

His schemes, coordinated with Obama’s, promise to knock the socks off all those new, starry-eyed, young voters who helped propel Barack Hussein Obama into the presidency.

Emanuel’s plan for them, which was also articulated by Candidate Obama, is that they surrender their hearts, souls, and bodies to the United States government for a period of at least three months at some juncture between their 18th and 25th years–for training in government camps.

Emanuel references the idea in his book,...
