Holidays are easy for obamunists - most don't have jobs to take off from.

I say make them worship on the weekends. Or maybe they can just get obama-rugs, face Washington, and make the obama-foot-kissing motion 5 or 6 times a day when the obama-bell rings.

While I like the refreshing change that will take place soon in Washington, a holiday is a silly idea.

In this country, the natural progression is that the leader does something of note, gets elected (?), makes a valuable contribution, gets assassinated, and then we start talking a holiday. This usually starts with moving speeches at the national funeral.

I would think for decency sake, they would at least allow him to really screw up, screw them, and screw the country before they want a holiday. Sometimes, Democrats really are scary!

I'm no Obama fan, as regulars here will appreciate, but this is beyond stupid on his supporters' part. Suppose Obama gets caught buggering young boys and smoking crack in the White House? Or evidence surfaces implicating him as a Marxist or Islamist agent? I'm not casting aspersions, or intimating that these things are likely, but the point is that Obama could become badly discredited (yes, He could), and then how stupid would we look for having a holiday named after him? We'd be a laughing stock.

Remember when we celebrated the birthdays of GEORGE WASHINGTON and ABRAHAN LINCLON sepeartly? and we didnt have monday hollidays? I like that: Washington and Lincoln's birthdays are shoved aside for a "non-offensive" President's Day, as well as an M.L.K.'s Birthday, and now this. "Post-Racial America"??? Getting off to a mighty sick start on that one! I imagine the White "Liberals" behind this move are endeavouring to carry their quaking fear of the Black Left to its logical extreme so as to avoid incurring their wrath, as they have been doing for decades now.

At the very least, shouldn't the feast day not be recognized until after his term is over and he has died. I am quite confident that by then we will have some perspective on the Obama presidency.

There is going to be some serious disillusionment in the valley. Yessir. No one could possibly live up to the expectations Obama himself has raised, and now his acolytes are themselves raising those expectations higher yet. If Obama walked across the Potomac, got Osama bin Laden to apologize, cured cancer, harnessed solar energy, promulgated the Unified Field Theory, found Jimmy Hoffa, and got all teenagers to clean their rooms, it would be less than the faithful now expect.

There is a large amount of people in this country that have seriously lost their minds! We don't have Jim Jones or Charles Manson days...I pity the young people that will have to spend the rest of their lives living through the damage these sick people are going to cause.

I hate how this webpage constantly takes the most crazy extreme minority of liberals and paints them as the norm. I know there are people who are crazy about Obama, there's some country that wants to name a mountain after him. People who want a national holiday. People with tattoos of him. People making collector coins. I've seen all this online. And as an Obama supporter, I think these people are nuts! As has been stated here, he hasn't DONE anything yet.

It's one thing to celebrate AMERICA for being open minded enough to elect a black man with the middle name Hussein. But it's ABSURD to heap all these accolades on Obama when he hasn't even taken the oath of office yet, nevermind accomplish anything as leader of our nation. I live in a hotbed of liberal activity, and am part of the group "Drinking liberally" which is a large liberal group that meets weekly at a bar. Everyone I know thinks these people fawning all over Obama are nuts.

These people are SUCH an extreme minority,though a vocal minority for sure, and yet this website wants its readers to think that every last leftist or independent thinks Obama is the messiah, when I have yet to even know anyone who KNOWS anyone who thinks this or anything close to it. Any mainstream liberal site like Daily Kos or Huffington Post, while enthusiastic about an Obama win, are hardly harolding him as the great black hope who will be the greatest president to ever live.

Any group is going to have its extreme wingnuts, but the right and the left always tries to paint those wingnuts as the majority when they are an EXTREME minority.
