Obama Coronation Extravaganza May Bankrupt DC
Obama will be getting off to an early start bankrupting the country — literally with his inauguration:
Soaring costs expected to accompany huge crowds in town for the Jan. 20 inauguration of Barack Obama could stick cash-strapped Washington, D.C., with a record-breaking bill for services.
Security and capacity measures recommended by the District’s congressional delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and others will almost certainly surpass the $15 million the federal government gives to the District each year to defray the cost of events, Norton said.
In 2005, with an estimated 300,000 in attendance, the second inauguration of President Bush cost the city more than $17 million, some of which was reimbursed with federal funds. This year, officials estimate nearly five times that many people for the swearing in of President-elect Barack Obama.
But no expense is too great to commemorate this crucial moment in history: The Year America Went Off the Rails. The price DC pays is nothing to what this train wreck will cost us all before the smoke clears.

On a tip from V the K.

Yeah, sooner or later, one of the Obamoonie trolls is going to squeak "You losers are just bitter because you've been rejected by most of America" or something similar, just with more misspellings.
What I find odd is how it's suddenly cool to conform to a mass personality cult, and surrender your individuality to an undifferentiated ego-mass.
Suddenly, non-conformity is a thing to be hated. Funny how that changes when the left gets in power.

'Twas always so, V the K: the 1960s were about jumping on the nonconformist bandwagon; about being different, just like everyone else. But when they gain power, they no longer feel the need to hide their deep totalitarianism under enlightened-sounding phraseology. The masks have well and truly fallen off.

who wants to wager the crime rates go up in deecee in the next two months? some people will do ANYTHING to be a part of this inauguration. mark my words.

Maybe he should some of that money he used to run for office. After all he did raise 700 million dolllars. Hammas could help out as well as Iran. I think I'll read a book that night.

January 20th will be a day of mourning and I will be flying my American flag upside down in honor of the installation of General Secretary Obama.
Posted by: John Galt at November 19, 2008 8:21 AM
Yeah, they're going to party and celebrate and none of the brainstems are invited! You'll be relegated to parking cars and holding coats for the LIBERALS who now RULE YOU.
Plan on 8 years of that followed by decades out in the powerless wilderness.
How disingenuous of the brainstems to object to money being spent when they've broken the bank with their scandals and mismanagement of the economy. I hope Obama uses your Social Security money to throw a huge party and then uses what is left over to build work camps for republicans so that they can be properly "re-educated". That idea was thrown around at the secret meetings for liberals but I objected, saying I didn't think you could be rehabilitated. Chairman Obama felt it important that we try to transform at least some of you into fully functioning humans. {sigh}, that man!

Hey John,
Why not just hang yourself and not the flag? Would be a more powerful statment. Better yet, start mixing up the cyanide Kool-Aid and inviting all of your conservative friends over for a sip.
Just think of the media attention you'd get!
Posted by: Praise Geezus! (Dino) at November 19, 2008 8:29 AM
I've always tried to see both sides of an issue. That's not working for me any more. There is so much hate, separation and superiority coming from the Obots, I think my head is going to explode.
Posted by: jomama at November 19, 2008 8:32 AM
i'm almost positive lettuce will be on sale at the piggly wiggly that day...priorities!

"January 20th will be a day of mourning and I will be flying my American flag upside down in honor of the installation of General Secretary Obama."
Flying it at half- mast in sorrow would be a better idea.
Fortunately, Dino is not really representative of all (Or hopefully most) Obama voters. He's just a really smug, bitter man who's allowed his hatred, bigotry, and egotism to rot away what little decency and compassion may have once existed in his heart.
Also fortunately, Obama will not be relying on Dino's psychotic plans to punish those who dare to commit the horrible crime of disagreeing with him.
Getting back on topic, that he'll be blowing so much money on his inauguration ceremony is NOT a good sign for how he'll be handling the economy over the next four years.

IT STARTS, HIS FRIENDS ARE TURNING ON HIM!!
The second-in-command of Islamic militant network al-Qaeda has called on Muslims to harm "criminal" America".
In a message purportedly from Ayman al-Zawahiri, the al-Qaeda deputy accused US President-elect Barack Obama of betraying his Muslim roots.
He likened him to a "house slave" - who had chosen to align himself with the "enemies of Islam".
Mr Obama has said stamping out al-Qaeda "once and for all" will be a top priority during his administration.
On Sunday, he said capturing or killing Osama Bin Laden was "critical" to US security.
He has also promised to bolster the US presence in Afghanistan - a policy that would fail, said the al-Qaeda deputy. story

Adam buddy, if Obama has a lavish inauguration party EVERY DAY for the next four years, it won't do 1% of the damage to the economy that having republicans in power for the last 8 has.
I think it's amusing how you people think today is the first day of recorded history. Here's a clue: You people have a past and it's not a good one. You ran us aground. You mismanaged the economy. You brought this country and thankfully, free-market capitalism to their KNEES.
Ok Oiao, time for your announcement that I'm gay! I even gave you the set up! {hint: ......to their KNEES}
Posted by: Praise Geezus! (Dino) at November 19, 2008 9:12 AM
In the past 8 years free market capitalism has allowed me to continue my business, put 2 kids through college, start construction on a house and expand my animal rescue efforts. I'm already beginning to see 'change' and it ain't good.

At the same time it has destroyed so much else. But as a good brainstem, your situation is the only one that matters. To you.
ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME
Good luck to your offspring as they try to create a life in this cesspool economy created by republicans.
Amazing that you see negative and blame Obama. Say, can you tell me who is President? Who ran Congress for 14 of the last 16 years? Who held power for 20 of the last 28 years?
Posted by: Praise Geezus! (Dino) at November 19, 2008 9:35 AM
You are getting him cornered! here comes the "Brainstem" buzz word right from KOS he likes to call anyone that kickes HIS a$$. LOLOLOL :-)

Let me get this straight...because I busted my ass for 40 years to make a better life for my family, my employees, and your neglected pets, I'm selfish?
Perhaps you'd prefer I sit on my ass and get in the welfare line.(I will need instruction from you on how to play the victim).
Posted by: jomama at November 19, 2008 10:06 AM
Good luck to your offspring living in a socialistic third world country Dino and the retards like him want to turn this country in to!

Dino IS the site TROLL, he's not here for debate, just to infuriate...he will never admit he is wrong no matter how ridiculous his argument it.

"I think it's amusing how you people think today is the first day of recorded history."
I never said that, or anything to suggest it. I hapen to have a B.A. in History, and have a pretty good knowledge of American history in particular.
As we've explained to you time and time again, our present financial troubles are largely due to liberals in Congress, between their forcing banks to give huge loans to people who would never be able to pay them back, and ignoring Bush and McCain's warnings about Fannie and Freddie (While much of the Democrat party secretly got rich off of Fannie). Obama, if he sticks to the plan he's been promoting, will worsen these economic problems by forcing "The rich" (btw, his definition of how much annual income you'd need to earn in order to be considered among "The rich" keeps steadily shrinking) to pay ever- increasing taxes, which will in turn cause them to have to cut jobs, lower wages for their workers, possibly outsource jobs overseas, etc., to make up for their losses. All in the name of "Social justice."

I'm used to toddlers. I find his hissy fits rather amusing.
Posted by: jomama at November 19, 2008 10:15 AM
No, you're selfish, actually a deadbeat, because you don't want to pay your bills for living here. To rationalize your selfishness and deadbeatedness (is that a word?) you imagine that the tax you pay goes to lazy people who don't work. In reality (you do know what that is, right?) your money is going to the Pentagon, rich people for tax cuts, and now, bailouts for Wall Street and corporations.
Stupid is as stupid believes.
Posted by: Dino at November 19, 2008 10:36 AM
If all my tax $$$ are going to the rich, who's are going to the poor? Yours? I'm looking but I don't see anywhere on my tax forms to designate who I want to get it.
Can you not make one comment without name calling?

I gotta go through art school and I don't have a job. According to Dino, I should bitch out the Republicans. According to my dad, I should try harder. I belive I will go with my dad.

Adam,
Any chance you can get your money back for that education?
The new republican orthydoxy that Fannie & Freddie caused the meltdown has been disproven so many times by such a wide variety of economists, policymakers and others who actually COMPLETED their courses of education that I won't even bother to post the links unless you request them.
{sigh} It's so hard to raise the level of discourse here when dealing with brainstems.

The nation's Capitol should always lead the way, right? It's so wonderful that they're willing to lead to way to economic nilism as an example for the rest of us. </sarc>>
