Moonbat Denounces Thanksgiving Tradition as Racist
Thanksgiving is a time for all of us to count our blessings and honor our traditions. Well, maybe not Michelle Raheja, who did her part to kill a little tradition in Claremont, California:
For decades, Claremont kindergartners have celebrated Thanksgiving by dressing up as pilgrims and Native Americans and sharing a feast. But on Tuesday, when the youngsters meet for their turkey and songs, they won't be wearing their hand-made bonnets, headdresses and fringed vests.
Parents in this quiet university town are sharply divided over what these construction-paper symbols represent: A simple child's depiction of the traditional (if not wholly accurate) tale of two factions setting aside their differences to give thanks over a shared meal? Or a cartoonish stereotype that would never be allowed of other racial, ethnic or religious groups?
"It's demeaning," Michelle Raheja, the mother of a kindergartner at Condit Elementary School, wrote to her daughter's teacher.
Raheja met with teachers and administrators, demanding an end to all this celebration of intercultural harmony. Snarled the UC Riverside English professor:
There is nothing to be served by dressing up as a racist stereotype.
As usual, the politically correct totalitarians got their way: a decision was made to hold the event without costumes. But in an encouraging sign, some parents put up resistance:
On Tuesday morning, some parents dressed their children in the hand-made headdresses, bonnets and fringed vests, and school officials did not force the students to remove them. Still, some parents vowed to keep their children home from school Wednesday, potentially costing the district state attendance funds.
Nearly two dozen protesters stationed themselves in front of the school, evenly split between costume supporters and opponents. The supporters set up a table with refreshments in front of the school sign, and several wore construction-paper headdresses. Foes stood about 40 feet away, carrying signs that said, "Don't Celebrate Genocide."
The discussion between the two groups grew so heated that school officials called police, and officials separated the protesters onto separate sidewalks, said Claremont Police Lt. Dennis Smith.
Having less in common, it isn't as easy for moonbats and patriots to set aside their differences as it was for Indians and pilgrims. But that's no reason not to try. Here's wishing Ms. Raheja a Happy Thanksgiving.

See what you get with "diversity". Endless arguing. People of different backrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, customs and traditions will never get along. Give it up.

These people do outrage like gorillas do hostility displays. Hoot a lot, punch the ground, puff out your chest, bare your fangs. Dance about like a retarded monkey.
Although there are many annoying things about this monkey-like behavior, three of the top ones must be:
1) The ostentatious manner of displaying one's putative greater morality and enlightenment, never passing on a single opportunity to make a preening spectacle of oneself. Meanwhile, the rest of us just want to get through the day without being bothered, and without being forced to pay attention to the political equivalent of a flasher.
2) The eternal presumption of being an instructor in a neverending series of "teachable moments." Usually the deal is that if one wishes to be taught, one signs up for classes and chooses a teacher. Not with these people. They choose their classroom -- that would be you -- and sign themselves up as your moral and political instructor.
3) And of course the thuggish determination, arising from that ugly, worst-of-all-worlds mixture of overweening vanity and contradictory feelings of inadequacy which can only be mollified by even greater displays of egotism, to impose their will on others. And, as always, one strongly suspects the pretext for the imposition of their will, their control, is irrelevant; they would be just as happy bullying people to accept the sky is pink, so long as at the end of the day they had people knuckling under them.

The irony is that the "genocide" that Raheja whines about is what created a country in which she's free to whine about "genocide".
Her biggest problem is that she
Can't
Understand
Normal
Thinking.

When some moonbat starts whining to me about "Genocide" in connection to the Amerindians, I always ask "If it was genocide, why are there so many of them left?"
When a tribe, or the majority of a tribe, objects to some local custom of mascot, I tend to side with them. I think it's happened once in my memory. When the whiners are a tiny handfull of white or mostly white twits I fantasize about turning them over to the squaws.

Here's a suggestion for these PC idiots:
Dress up like Jihadis and Christianists and reenact September 11!
That would warm their cold hearts.

Get over it!! They would have eventually have been conquered by someone else sooner or later. Just be happy you are an American. I think I'm going to dress my kids as a pilgrim and Indian now.
Posted by: Chrissy at November 27, 2008 1:52 PM
But just think, if those Indians had given the Pilgrims a donkey instead of a turkey, then instead getting a piece of turkey for thanksgiving we would all be getting a piece of ASS.

It's a historical fact that the American indians got their lands by WAR. Was European so evil and hatefull to them as their moonbat desendants claim? I doubt it, they seemed to like our HORSES and RIFLES a lot!
PS: The "tomahawk" was an ENGLISH invention.

"Typical" liberal hypocrites driving more wedges between peoples of the world. And you call that progressive!? Sick people.

What sets our modern day liberals apart from our Founding Fathers and our brave, intrepid pioneers of days gone by are many.
Most of all, it is distance.
If they had to live check and jowl with the Indians in those days, they would be clamoring for the help of the US Army or any hired guns to protect them. Hell, they might even be forced to grow a spine and defend themselves.
[sarcasm]Yes, to protect themselves from these 'innocent, oppressed, and peaceful folks' who were not in the least bit prejudiced against one another, let alone the White man. [/sarcasm]
As was noted, were it not for the doctrine of Manifest Destiny, these puerile liberals wouldn't have a secure homestead in which to hammer out their idiotic and demented screeds.
Typical Moonbat Troll
