Bishops Grovel to Homosexual Lobby
Only by standing firmly for the values upon which it is based can Christianity withstand the current onslaught of moonbattery. If Christians attempt to meet the Devil halfway, the religion will wither into irrelevance, as demonstrated by the Church of England under Rowan Williams. Unfortunately, Catholic bishops don't seem to agree:
Roman Catholic priests have been banned from using 'heterosexist' language in their churches in case they offend gay worshippers.
They have been told by their bishops not to assume that every churchgoer is a heterosexual and to reflect this 'in language and conversation'.
It gets worse…
Priests are also encouraged to put up posters advertising 'support services' for homosexuals, a move bound to infuriate many Catholics who believe gay sexual activity to be sinful.
Believe homosexuality to be sinful? The Bible condemns it strongly and repeatedly.
Catholic commentator Lynette Burrows is furious at what she correctly perceives as "groveling":
What is pitiful as well as demeaning is that the Church is running after homosexual opinion but nothing is going to make homosexuals like the Catholic Church.
Maybe by chucking out the Ten Commandments along with proscriptions against depravity, bishops can also reach out to murderers and thieves. Meanwhile, those who look to the Church as a bastion against corruption will be forced to look elsewhere.
On a tip from Al C.

I noted that the source was the UK's Daily Mail. The article itself was rather poorly sourced: I saw no bishops named who supposedly presented this advice to their parish priests.
Given that the bishops in the United States are working against various same-sex "marriage" proposals, I have my doubts that this kind of advice is being given much in the US.

Dana,
The point is, England has for the last few years unwittingly acted as kind of an early warning system for the US, about what can happen if we allow moonbattery in its various forms to take over. This can especially be seen in what a disaster their health care system is, how castrated, cowardly, and meaningless the church has become over there, and how much their rapidly growing Muslim population has begun to take over (i.e. forcing the courts to allow the British Muslims to establish their own sharia law).

seriously, did u really just say it is the democrats fault that gays can't get married in california? WHAT R U ON AND WHERE CAN I GET SOME CAUSE WHATEVER YOUR ON ALTERED THE UNIVERSE! I agree that churches shouldn't just assume these things. They say god loves all sinners, so for once they get to practice what they preach or look like asses. I mean, seriously, if in the bible jesus forgives a prostitue, why does he hate the gays?

The UK is quickly becoming the Bellweather, behind Canada, for the fall of Western Civilization.

Meanabear, rule #1 at Moonbatter:Spelling and grammer. At least to the best of your ability. When people see "U" used as "you," and "R" used as "are," you lose 90% of your arguing credability right of the bat.
And yes, the same people who voted for Obama(blacks, hispanics) are the same people who voted yes on prop 8. This site has provided plenty of proof, but then again, you're not the type to live in reality.

...and the bible, of course, is right, because....um, please refresh my memory, it's right because it's God's word? And it's God's word because that's what it says in the Bible? Did I get this right?

Spelling and grammer? Credability? Is our children learning? Or maybe lack of self-awareness (not to mention common sense) is what it takes to become a member of the Christian Right...

Descartes, the Bible is God's Word. It is also proven, in worldly terms, by numerous archeological discoveries which match up with the historical data listed in the Bible.
Not to mention the fact that even though it was written by many, many different authors, in different languages, on 3 continents, over the period of several centuries, it all flows together seamlessly.
R. Herring, if by "Christian Right" you mean "A Christian who is conservative in his politics," then yes, I am, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm studying to get into the ministry, in fact. Your pathetic insults and stereotypes mean nothing.

Huh? ??? Now I'm really confused by the above post.
Kick the LSD habit son, you'll live longer.

The article is poorly written and thus we cannot tell the nature of the instructions without seeing the original pamphlet. It is possible, with the little information offered, for the instructions to be simple charity and orthodoxy. Jokes at the expense of those suffering from same-sex attraction are not necessary, and support services could be access to Courage meetings, which helps folks to live chastely, as we all should.
The only red flag is the directive on language. Man and woman are ordinarily ordered to seek one another so that's the default mode of language and society, but until we see what wording is really used by the bishops, this article could be a red herring.

HEY! Gay a$$holes! You have NO creditability until you protest ALL dissenting religions equally! Prance around nude by a Mosque, interrupt a prayer meeting with your flyers and robes with white painted faces in a Mosque. Give Islam the same treatment, Until then your ranting doesn't mean squat!!

You guys are scary. Just up there with the terrorists in my nightmare catalogue. I hope i ( let alone my children) will not have to encounter the hate you spread around. It's your type that keeps the world polarized, thus eternally at war.

You may not believe the Bible is the Word of God, but lots of people who make laws do. However, if God didn't want men to have sex with other men, He would have said “Man shall not lie with man PERIOD (Leviticus 18:22, 21:13). God wanted Moses to eradicate rampant idolatry in the Jewish nation. That whole “ . . . as with a woman” thing condemns straight men pretending to make it with a woman, such as during idol worship. Paul explains it further when putting down the straight Romans (1:26-28 ) for “leaving their natural relations” (i.e.... as with a woman) and having idolatrous sex with men. Gay men are attracted to other men by definition and by God. They can only imagine what sex
“ . . . as with a woman” would be like.
“Homosexual” was coined about 1865, so any Bible translation since then that uses a form of that word is a lie that needs to be emended. My King James version is honest and homosexual-free. That word premiered in a 1946 English Bible and continues to condemn loving Gays.

You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)
If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)

Perhaps you need to read it again. In the story of the woman caught in adultery, his words saved her from being stoned to death, and he forgave her, but he also told her to sin no more.
Jesus doesn't hate homosexuals, but he does hate their sins.
