A Fit Place for Pigeons to Relieve Themselves

New York City offers a preview of the sort of public monuments we can expect to pay for now that the Executive and Legislative branches have fallen to left-wing extremists. In Central Park, at 5th Avenue and 60th Street, stands a statue of Che Guevara, the communist executioner who planned terrorist attacks against the citizens of New York.

Appropriately, the statue was financed with funds expropriated by force from taxpayers, courtesy of the Public Art Fund, the City of New York, the NEA, and the New York Council for the Arts.

On tips from Byron, nanc, and jomama. Hat tip: Say Anything.

Next time I'm in NYC (I grew up there), I'll be pissing on that statue.

And the glorious legacy of Che just keeps getting better by the minute!

"Report from inside Cuba: More hunger and repression

Nov. 21 - I got this e-mail from a Canadian reader who keeps in close touch with people who are traveling to Cuba or who have relatives in the island: "I just received some real disturbing reports about increased persecution in Cuba. Apparently, the police are holding "trials" for people on the street in front of their homes when they catch people with more food than they think they should have. The reports I received came from residents from Santa Clara and Santa Cruz del Norte, and another report was from a person who was visiting family in Havana. The one report (from the person who was visiting family in Havana) was that a person was found with 6 boxes of spaghetti and after one of these "trials" in front of his home (in Havana) he was sentenced to 2 months in jail per each box, for a total of 1 year - and carted off immediately to the jail. The person visiting apparently witnessed this "trial." The draconian nature of the Regime in Cuba seems to be reaching new highs! Jailing hungry people for having a minimal amount of food! It conjures up thoughts of Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot."

And this is going on 90 miles from our shores!"

There should be another one, to Himmler, as long as we're idolizing totalitarian executioners. Make 'em like bookends, since Guevara was to Castro as Himmler was to Hitler.

We definately need to blow that statue up then don't we?
Why is there a statue of a Communist revolutionist in Central Park?
This country is going downhill fast.

In Tennesee there is a statue of sgt. York with his rifle raised to fire. Place the statue of Che G. (SPIT!) in front of York with it's back to the sergent; that way it will look like it's running from a REAL hero!

Just wrote a blog about this nonsense myself. It infuriates me how the left idolizes this Murderer.
I hadn't thought about the Pigeons...that made me smile. :)

hiram, that does not surprise me. Three years ago, I spent a little over a week in Cuba on a church missions trip. The conditions there (We spent much the time there in rural villages such as Baguanos) were appalling, and the experience further cemented my opposition to Communism. In Havana (Where we spent the last 2-3 days of our visit), things were not much different than the rest of the country. Havana came across as a city which was once indescribably beautiful, I mean a real jewel of the world, but which has started to slowly yet surely decay over the years.
It would be great if there were some way of hooking up the Che (Spit) statue with something to attract the pigeons to it for the purpose described in the title of this thread, and maybe a fwe dogs with overactive bladders, too.

I think citizens have every right to go and make scrap metal out of that statue. Or (as suggested) put of a statue of Hitler or James Earl Ray right next to it. This crap has got to stop. FUCK tolerance. You want a Che statue in your yard, at your expense? Knock yourself out. Not on MY dime you don't. They oughta be glad I don't live in New York.

DUMP THE NEA
DUMP THE NY COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS
DUMP THE PUBLIC ART FUND
If you're art can't pay it's own way, then maybe it doesn't need to be seen. Assholes.

Che backs the Democratic Party Voters who hate gay marriage in CA.

In his day, he ensured that all the Gays were killed by the state, or in the name of the state.

Have we run out of Americans to honor? Usually, when you erect a statue of a military leader he is either from the place, as in the Alvin York statue, or has conquered the place, as in the King George III.
