Union Encourages Teachers to Brainwash for Barack
Only a vast brainwashing apparatus explains how the Left has come this close to installing an extremely dangerous radical in the White House. The most obvious component is the brazenly partisan mainstream media, but in the long view, the education establishment has been doing just as much damage to the national consciousness. An example of how teachers unions have been helping usher in the bleak Age of the Obamessiah:
An e-mail distributed by a Virginia teachers union encouraged members to bring politics into the classroom by wearing blue in support of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama and simultaneously suggested that the union's voter registration efforts include those "you teach."
The Virginia Education Association (VEA) e-mail drew strong criticism Wednesday from elected Republican officials and some residents after the state Republican Party obtained a copy.
VEA President Kitty Boitnott arrogantly shrugged off the ensuing outrage, dismissing complaints about political brainwashing as "ridiculous."
Kitty has her own blog, where you can read all about her nonpartisan devotion to enlightening the children. It features this shot of herself with the America-bashing Michelle Obama, whom the Obama campaign has wisely kept locked in the cellar lately:

Gushes Ms. Boitnut:
Since becoming president of the Virginia Education Association, I have already experienced numerous high points. On September 17, I got to attend a special event hosting Michelle Obama. Not only did I get to hear her speak, but I got a chance to meet her in person!
Hold on, it gets still more exciting. BOO even introduced Kitty to the crowd!
I think that the fact that I was one of the three people she chose to acknowledge in that forum speaks to the value that the Obama campaign places on our association and their need for our support. As I told the reps at the Fairfax Education Association later in the day, I believe that everyone recognizes the power that we have as an organization — except perhaps we ourselves.
Wrong. If normal people had a clue what kind of power these kooks have and what they want to use it for, they would pull their kids out of public schools.

Wonder how long someone e-mailing back with, 'What color am I supposed to wear to support McCain?' would have kept their job?

And who says we don't need school vouchers to send our kids to 'normal' schools of our choosing? This is what our tax dollars go to? To indoctrinate our kids into the Hitler, uh, er, I mean Obama Youth? Rucking Fidiculous.

I know a 5th grade public school teacher and, according to her, there is no need for the unions to encourage teachers to be for Obama as a tremendous number of them are already deep in the tank for the messiah. She can't understand why so many "educated" people can't see through the bullshit he proposes.
I suppose that Obama is promising more pay for teachers is part of the charm but most of them just think "he's dreamy" according to her. I am paraphrasing but that's pretty much how it works out. The whole "cult of personality" thing.

My mother teaches second grade, and she left her teacher's union years ago because she couldn't put up with how liberal it had gotten any more.

these facts today, are being noticed 40 years too late
4brevard.com/choice/Public_Education.htm
Between 1967 and 1974 teacher training in the US was covertly revamped through the coordinated efforts of a small number of private foundations, certain universities, global corporations and several other interests working through the U.S. Department of Education and through key state education departments, one of which is the state of Vermont.
Three critical documents in this transformation are Benjamin Bloom's multi-volume TAXONOMY OF EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES. That was the first. The second was a many-state project begun in 1967 called DESIGNING EDUCATION FOR THE FUTURE, and it was set forth in an enormous manual of nearly 1000 pages and finally the BEHAVIORAL TEACHER EDUCATIONAL PROJECT which came in a manual of over 1000 pages. These were inserted into every state education department in the country and moneys were inserted there to pay faculty salaries a certain range of bribes for the school districts that would pioneer the use of these things.
They redefined education after the 19th century Germanic fashion as (quoting now from the document) "as a means to achieve important economic and social goals for the national character" -- and I would hasten to add that none of those goals included the maximum development of your son or daughter. State agencies would henceforth "act as Federal enforcers insuring compliance of local schools with Federal directives". The document proclaimed that ( I'm quoting again), "each state education department must be an agent of change", proclaimed further "change must be institutionalized". I doubt if an account of this appeared in any newspaper in the state of Vermont or for that matter any newspaper in the country (U.S.). Education departments were (I am quoting a third time) "to lose their identity as well as their authority in order to form a partnership with the Federal Government".
The BEHAVIORAL TEACHER EDUCATIONAL PROJECT outlines specific teaching reforms to be forced on the country, unwillingly of course, after 1967. It also sets out, in clear language, the outlook and intent of its invisible creators. Nothing less than quoting again "the impersonal manipulation through schooling of a future America in which few will be able to maintain control over their own opinions", an America in which (quoting again) "each individual receives at birth, a multipurpose identification number which enables employers and other controllers to keep track of their [underlings]", (underlings is my interpretation, everything else came out of the document), "and to expose them to the directors subliminal influence of the state education department and the federal department acting through those whenever necessary".
Readers learned in 1967, of course you and I were not among those readers, that chemical experimentation on minors would be normal procedure in the post 1967 world. That is a pointed foreshadowing of the massive Ritalin interventions which would accompany the student body of the future. Teachers were expected to function as government change agents and their trainers, ( this the first time reading this document that I realized that the expression "teacher trainer", like animal trainer, is an odd locution) the teacher trainers, were notified that behavioral science would henceforth replace academic curriculum in schools. The project identified the future as one (again I'm quoting) "in which a small league would control all important matters, one in which participatory democracy would largely disappear". Children would be made to see that their classmates, and indeed the average man or woman were so inadequate, were so irresponsible that they had to be controlled and regulated. The tremendous rise in school violence and general chaos in the late 1960's, a period when teachers and schools across the land were stripped of their ability to discipline children, might be seen as a convenient public justification for sharp constrictions of traditional liberty. Each outburst resonated through the press like a billboard for emergency measures.

On Sept. 25, 1998, Rep. Bob Schaffer placed in the Congressional Record an 18-page letter that has become famous as Marc Tucker's "Dear Hillary" letter. It lays out the master plan of the Clinton Administration to take over the entire U.S. educational system so that it can serve national economic planning of the workforce.
The "Dear Hillary" letter, written on Nov. 11, 1992 by Marc Tucker, president of the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE), lays out a plan "to remold the entire American system" into "a seamless web that literally extends from cradle to grave and is the same system for everyone," coordinated by "a system of labor market boards at the local, state and federal levels" where curriculum and "job matching" will be handled by counselors "accessing the integrated computer-based program."
Tucker's plan would change the mission of the schools from teaching children academic basics and knowledge to training them to serve the global economy in jobs selected by workforce boards. Nothing in this comprehensive plan has anything to do with teaching schoolchildren how to read, write, or calculate.
Tucker's ambitious plan was implemented in three laws passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton in 1994: the Goals 2000 Act, the School-to-Work Act, and the reauthorized Elementary and Secondary Education Act. These laws establish the following mechanisms to restructure the public schools:
Bypass all elected officials on school boards and in state legislatures by making federal funds flow to the Governor and his appointees on workforce development boards.
Use a computer database, a.k.a. "a labor market information system," into which school personnel would scan all information about every schoolchild and his family, identified by the child's social security number: academic, medical, mental, psychological, behavioral, and interrogations by counselors. The computerized data would be available to the school, the government, and future employers.
Use "national standards" and "national testing" to cement national control of tests, assessments, school honors and rewards, financial aid, and the Certificate of Initial Mastery (CIM), which is designed to replace the high school diploma.
Designed on the German system, the Tucker plan is to train children in specific jobs to serve the workforce and the global economy instead of to educate them so they can make their own life choices.

BUST THE TEACHERS UNIONS!
Now. Permanently.
These socialist scumbags are not only over paid under-achievers but are brainwashing all school age children into leftist, Marxist, anti-American crap.
Look to Berkeley and the current crop of "college students" to see what these vile idiots are turning out.

I am a VEA member, but I wrote an email in 2004 that I was not stupid enough to vote for someone just because the NEA told me to.
However, apparently due to the teacher shortage, the VEA has now found a positive side to hiring unqualified people in our schools.
Next Tuesday will be McCain day. Everyone wear red.

Bad enough the taxpayer is compelled to pay for La Raza (the race), ACORN, Aztlan, a variety of projects geared toward institutionalizing Islam and a host of other federally-funded socialistic programs such as the current "bail-out," affirmative action, diversity training and NPR.
A real knife-twist comes when we (ie, real property owners) are forced at the local level to drop checks into the huge tax troughs used to fund left-wing, goose-stepping indoctrination projects substituting for public education.

Well, I'm sure the ACLU will be all over this in a moment. *snark*
Of course, if one of the teachers mentioned God in a classroom...

I ccan't think of anything that would turn teenagers away from voting for Obama then having their teachers endorse him.

"From "Planet of the Apes: The Interrogation
Urko: Ahh yes. I seem to remember hearing something vaguely about that; BRAIN WASHING. Isn’t that where you take the brain out of the skull and wash it with cool water?
Wanda: No, No. You don’t take the brain out of the skull.
Urko: You don’t - Well how can you wash the brain if you don’t take it out of the SKULL?"

Party like its 1984! Kids to report their parents for eco-crimes?
http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=307841054215714
"We're not talking about kids turning in parents who commit serious crimes. We're talking about children tallying up environmental transgressions, such as leaving the water running or the lights on too long.
Sounds benign, almost like a little family fun? That's what NPower, a British electricity provider and creator of the Climate Cops campaign, which has its own Web site, wants the public to think.
But the program has an unpleasant odor. In fact, it is truly Orwellian. Kids are expected to keep diaries in which they record their families' environmental sins — a "climate crime case file" — and are urged to talk about the offenses in their classrooms."

Is there a profession in the US with more people void of intelligence than the teacher's union?
Posted by: JamesJ at October 3, 2008 8:01 AM
The only rights any of you have as workers is because of the work unions
Which work unions? Are you refering to historical unions put together in response to poor working conditions in slaughterhouses? The Teamsters? AFL-CIO?
The NEA? Union Carbide?
Please parse this out a little for me, nut.
I have worked under "at will" conditions or in my own businesses, but wouldn't want to stumble through life ungrateful to a Union.

In trying to capture the minds, hearts and souls of young children, the
Nazis at first
offered many incentives. Things that would fascinate and attract children,
such as uniforms,
knives, drums and bugles and much more. The next step was peer pressure.
Telling them
"your friends are members, why aren't you?", " You can't belong to our
social group and have
fun like we do, if you are not a member", "You have to sit at the back of
the class or isolated
in school somewhere if you are not a member". etc. etc.
Later, far different motivations and persuasions were used, and the Hitler
Youth soon were no
longer real children, but more or less belonged to the State. It was not
that unusual for kids to
turn their own parents in to authorities if they caught them doing
something not approved by
the State. Many parents were severely punished and some sent to
concentration camps and
then death because their own children had turned them in to authorities.
