Cuba is a good example. A country that basically had it right, paved roads, electricity, and it turned commie. People argue the corruption etc., it is nonsense.
Cuba was a modern country for all of 1958. Downhill since, to the point that I want to visit this relic, aka Disneyland type of trip. A non drug user's acid trip,

By the time Obama and the democrats are thru - the only change the ordinary citizen will be saying is: "Can you spare some change, friend?"

If Obama wins in November, everyone should fly the American flag upside down. As America will be in dire distress for at least 4 years. It will be what historians call "The Dark Age".

Boy do I miss the Richmond Times Dispatch. I wish the RNC would pick this up and put it on TV.

Anon, with all due respect, don't be a pussy. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I think just the opposite. Obama will do a lot of damage, of that there can be no doubt. But for the last eight years, we on the right have had to pull our punches because the guys running on the show were supposedly our team, even if they were mushy centrists. No more. We can fight back against Comrade Obama, who will go down as the worst American president, surpassing even Jimmy Carter. Don't believe me? Think Kwame Kilpatrick. Think John Street. Think Marion Barry. Think Willian Jefferson. Corrupt community organizers who become political executives do not have a good track record. Also, a lot of what Obama wants to do is both unpopular (Amnesty, tax increases, no drilling, massive increases in aid to foreign dictators) and economically unsound (tax increases in the teeth of recession, massive energy regulations).
For the next four years, we get to fight, we get to attack, we get to be the crazy ones. This could be a lot of fun.

Claire McCaskill, another classy Democrat. A United States senator spits in Mitt Romney's earpiece. Yet, some Democrats want us to believe it's only their fringe that's deranged.

The difference between Pearl Harbor and Obama is that the Japs werent running America from the Whitehouse. 9-11 and Pearl Harbor are similar events - a one time sneak attack. With Obama and the lefties in Congress - yes, Dark days are ahead. It doesnt take much of an imagination to think of what Obama and Pelosi might be capable of. Show trials for conservatives? Massive subsidies to commie groups like ACORN - maybe even a newly created cabinet position of Community Activism.
Not saying America wont survive but what will it look like after 4 years or 40 years of Obama (if he declares himself President for Life.

Nah, I think that's a bit hysterical. I am pretty confident Barack Obama will be the worst president in history, surpassing even Jimmy Carter. (And most of his supporters are too young to remember that horror, and they need to be reminded.) I don't think the media will be able to polish that turd enough to hide his vanity, corruption, and incompetence from the American people. Meanwhile, the Republican party can refocus itself on national security, fiscal restraint, and smaller government and present a real alternative.
Even Europe and Great Britain are souring on socialism. It may take a while, but America will, too.

After witnessing the maverick's performance as a candidate this election cycle makes me very happy about W's 2000 nomination.
Now let's get started on BHO's impeachment.

(However, do not make the mistake of thinking it's cool now so we don't need to worry about globwarm any more. As the author points out, though destitute poverty and the end of life as we know it would certainly be a step in the right direction, we still need to pump tons more money into climate research.)

Sometimes Republicans need a booster shot. Carter was that booster shot after the weak Republican years of the 70's. Look at the strong years for Republicans after Carter futtbucked the economy and foreign relations. Times are going to get tough. The economy will probably suffer even more. We'll probably see ill-advised, bone-headed military action. We may even see attacks on our soil. The Democrats are salivating thinking about their possible reconstruction of the power structure of the nation. I've even heard talk about "re-interpreting" the Constitution. None of this is new. It may have never been to this extent before, but it's nothing new. If we survive the next few years, chances are we'll see a strong resurgence of the conservative spirit in America afterwards.
