Obama's Mentor Ayers Keeps Fighting for the Revolution
Posted by Dave Blount at October 9, 2008 1:15 PM
One of the most absurd justifications for Obama's long and close relationship with the unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers is that Obama was a little kid when his mentor was setting off bombs at the Capitol, the Pentagon, NYC Police HQ, etc. But Ayers has not changed his stripes, only his tactics, exchanging violence for insidiousness by rising through the education establishment. From IBD Editorials:
An idea of what Ayers has in mind for America's schools was provided in his own words not 40 years ago when Obama was eight years old, but less than two years ago in November 2006 at the World Education Forum in Caracas hosted by dictator Hugo Chavez.
With Chavez at his side, Ayers voiced his support for "the political educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. … I look forward to seeing how … all of you continue to overcome the failures of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane."
Ayers told the great humanitarian Chavez: "Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions large and small. La educacion es revolucion." It is that form of socialist revolution that Ayers, and Obama, have worked to bring to America.
It seems many of his fellow academics are on board with the revolution. An anonymously hosted website asks Ayers's fellow educators to sign their names in support of him. Those accused of objecting to Ayers's terrorist activities in the name of communist revolution are accused of "McCarthyism." Here's how those treasonous and potentially homicidal activities are spun:
It's true that Professor Ayers participated passionately in the civil rights and antiwar movements of the 1960s, as did hundreds of thousands of Americans. His participation in political activity 40 years ago is history; what is most relevant now is his continued engagement in progressive causes, and his exemplary contribution — including publishing 16 books — to the field of education.
The site's appalling statement excusing Ayers for being sociopathic scum has been signed by about 2,000 people. Unsurprisingly, Obama fundraiser and frequent dinner companion as well as former propaganda chief for the PLO Rashid Khalidi of ever execrable Columbia University is near the top of the list.
In other William Ayers news you won't hear from the dinosaurs, speculation points to him as the real author of Obama's memoir, Dreams From My Father.
