For that matter, why would the second coming of Christ be such a big supporter of Socialism/ Communism, a system of government under which millions of Christ's followers were persecuted, tortured and killed for refusing to deny their faith and become atheists? the False Prophet is described in terms such that he will look like a lamb (Christ) but speak like a dragon (Satan). The role of this second beast is to support the first beast - the political leader. The authority that this False Prophet claims is derived from Satan and the political leader. His role is to cause the inhabitants of the earth to worship the first beast, thus fulfilling the third part of the false trinity.

Uh, don't think the Real Deal would approve of late-term abortion much less any abortion. The Obamanator is just a type and certainly no more than a puppet, much less a "profit" prophet, (no profit in that guy for sure). "The Lord shall come as a thief in the night" (Thessalonians and Peter) and why is that? Because the world will already think Christ is HERE, i.e. they'll be worshipping antichrist. Big bad surprise for the deceived, not a surprise for those who know better.

In general, I don't buy into the "Left Behind" interpretations of the Book of Revelation. I used to think, "If the Rapture did happen, wouldn't that be a big freakin' clue to the people who didn't get raptured? How could anyone deny that something incredible had happened?"

But seeing how depraved the anti-religious left has gotten, I think it could happen. There are millions of faux-Christians, including BH Obama. So, they would say, "Hey, it's not the Rapture. We're still here (chuckle, chuckle). And it's kind of intolerant toward other beliefs to think the mass disappearance of Christians proves that their religion was right. So, let's just move on and forget it happened. In the meantime, let me redistribute all the money and stuff they left behind."

Like I said, I am not a believer in a literal Rapture and Second Coming taking place in the manner usually described. But looking at what's coming, I'd love to bail on this place.

Well, as I recall from the Left Behind Series (I read the first 3 books of the series), while some of the people who didn't get Raptured realized what had happened and got saved (i.e. the main characters of the books), a lot of the rest of the nonbelievers found various ways to explain it away, saying it was a natural phenomenon or alien abduction or something. Plus, as you noted, some of the phony Christians felt it couldn't be the Rapture because they were still there.
I wouldn't call Obama the Antichrist (I'd imagine the Antichrist's popularity when he arrives will make Obama's current cult of personality look insignificant in comparison), but I could see him as helping to pave the way for it.

Historicly, I would place "the end of the world" as the era between 1910 to the late 1940s. The two world wars, the Great Depression, the fall of the empires, the rise of the criminal gangs, ect. pretty well matches the most popular predictions and descriptions of "Armageddon".

The Rapture however, is something I haven't bothered to nail down.

For the christians amongst us I'd recommend reading a book called End Times Fiction by Gary DeMar. It demonstrates why the modern "left behind" rapture-tribulation theology is scripturally unsound.
