First-Graders Subjected to Homosexual Marriage

You're never too young to be indoctrinated with moonbat depravity at taxpayer expense:

First-graders in San Francisco took a field trip to City Hall to celebrate the marriage of their lesbian teacher on Friday […] The field trip was suggested by a parent at the Creative Arts Charter School, and the school said the trip, where students tossed rose petals on their teacher and her wife as they left City Hall, was academically relevant.
"It really is what we call a teachable moment," said Liz Jaroslow, the school's interim director […] She said same-sex marriage had historic significance. "I think I'm well within the parameters."

It's a relief to hear a San Francisco educrat acknowledge the concept of parameters.

Next they'll bus the kids to Folsom Street for more teachable moments.

On tips from Varla, Matt L, and Wiggins.

Odiferous Mayor Gavin Newsom was in charge.

The lesbian teacher’s wedding was officiated by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Newsom is featured in a Yes on 8 television ad, released last week, in which he arrogantly declares of same-sex marriage: “The door’s wide open now. It’s gonna happen, whether you like it or not.”

Dear lord... children had to see two people who loved each other become a family and pledge to spend their lives together? That's disgusting.

Madison -

Love's got nothing to do with it. Exposing a young, impressionable, CAPTIVE audience to this stuff is the issue here.

Posted by: chillywilly at October 14, 2008 3:44 AM

Love? Oh, please. This is an in-your-face political stunt. Normal people do not exchange their nuptials in front of a field trip of first graders.

“With this ring, I thee wed!” Carder said, shouting the last word for emphasis.
The two said they have participated in the campaign against Proposition 8 and planned to travel around San Francisco on Friday afternoon in a motorized trolley car with “Just Married” and “Vote No on 8″ banners…

Oh, yeah, this was just about two people loving each other. It wasn't a political stunt at all.

If a guy finds a willing 10 year old girl to marry him in front of a bunch of school students, it should be ok just because they "love each other"?

If love is all that matter then the answer would have to be yes. At least in the world of Moonbats.

Don't be too surprised, Anonymous but that is just around the corner. You can soon "wed" your own ten yearold daughter. Remember the guy a few years back who sued to be able to marry his horse? It is on it's way.

As I have been arguing at the Gay Patriot blog, giving marital privileges to people who lack social and personal responsibility will probably work out about as well for society as giving out mortgages to people who lack financial responsibility.

At least they're teaching wholesome values. /sarc

What would happen if a public school took first graders to a Baptist church for a sermon? Or to an anti-abortion rally to protest the murder of children in the womb? The ACLU would be up in arms, that's what. Oh but two lesbians getting married? Somehow that's appropriate.

Even Same Sex Marriage advocates admit this was a stupid political stunt:

Kate Kendell executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, who first learned of the field trip in Saturday's Chronicle. "It was, obviously, a public-relations disaster for us."

"It was, obviously, a public-relations disaster for us."

Yes, it's all about THEM!

Posted by: KHarn at October 14, 2008 4:42 PM

Right KHarn! "It hurts OUR cause, never mind what it does to the kids(because we actually WANT them to lean in our direction).

Social engineering...pure and simple.

BUST THE TEACHERS UNIONS!

(Spurwing, now that I read everything you write in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice, I love your posts. Please...in one of them say "I'll be back"!)

Burning Hot:

Guess you're right. After all having the wedding picture of your parents in the article how could anyone disagree with your opinion?

You'd have to be as crazy as the people from San Francisco or Amherst.

Would it have been a "teachable moment" to, on the next weekend, take the class to a traditional, conservative, religious marriage where they were advised against pre-marital sex, and the preacher read passages about how marriage is between a man and a woman - in order to see marriage from a different perspective - or would that have been a coercive enforcement of heteronormative Christian hegemony?
