Aloha Socialized Medicine

Obama recently said in a debate that having the government force other people to pay for your healthcare is a right, confirming that he plans to impose socialized medicine. You don't have to leave the country to see what this means; Hawaiians already know:

Hawaii is dropping the only state universal child health care program in the country just seven months after it launched.
Gov. Linda Lingle's administration cited budget shortfalls and other available health care options for eliminating funding for the program. A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.
"People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free," said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST at the Department of Human Services.

Incredibly, this actually seemed to surprise the bureaucrats. BHO has spoken ominously about imposing a similar plan on the country as a whole. When it crashes and burns, costing the taxpayers a fortune as well as quick access to first-class healthcare, let's hope we can reverse course as quickly as Hawaii. Better still, let's hope voters are smart enough not to step off this cliff in the first place.

Hmmmm, let's see. I'm paying say, $100/month for health care for my kids. The state says they'll give it to me for free.

Should I take it and save $100 a month for a new 75" HDTV?

WTF do you think?

WTF hires these maroons who work for the gov't?

Okay, If I get his right, My tax's are paying for health care for people who don't feel the need to pay for it. Then the Dipshits can't figure out why I decide not to buy health insurance since I am already paying for it with taxes.

Ding Ding Ding Ding, you guessed it, Stephana!

What is really weird is how the Blue Hawaii ever admitted to a government program not working. I figured they would have hidden the information and skewed the statistics to show it was working like a charm.

Score one for common sense!

"So rare it should be a damned super power."

I want to know what "wingnutcracker", "anonymous" and the rest have to say about this.

Cowards.

Wingnutcracker is trying really hard to become the new hashfanatic. He's enjoying seeing his name onscreen and thinks he's making some kind of effect on us here.

Fun Fact: we didn't come to have these opinions overnight, and we're not about to change them because you talk to us like we're idiots.

Trolls: we've seen them come, and we've seen them go.

You know, I've been thinking about this very thing the last few months. I am part of the tail end of the baby boom generation...still a few years to go to retirement. If Obama gives me "free" (i.e. the rest of you suckers have to pay for my health care) universal health care I would find little incentive to keep on working. I'm sure there are many like me in this situation. If Obama gets his way, my prediction is that there will be a wave of early retirements across the nation.

“People who were already able to afford mortgage payments began to stop paying them so they could take advantage of the bailout,” said a very surprised President Obama, as he scratched his head and scanned the pages of Das Kapital in search of answers. “I don’t believe that was the intent of the program.”
